Cross-Department Planning
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to schedule months in advance with multiple people in multiple departments.
What do you dislike about the product?
The alerts can be a little cumbersome, but I'm not sure if that is Asana's fault or the inputting of all events at one time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Multiple departments at the school work together and do not have access to each calendar. As well, we can make sure individual's are staying up on their end of events.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take a little time to get to know the software and its capabilities. For an entire year, I was not necessarily using it to its potential (I probably still am not using its top potential).

Very good for a lightweight PM tool
What do you like best about the product?
Easy visibility between different projects and dependencies. Easy to determine CPM and CPM limiters
What do you dislike about the product?
The constant notifications. The settings are more or less, get notifications or don't. So you need to get notifications. Then you're spammed daily with multiple notifications. It would be nice if there was more flexibility or if you could set it to group all of a days emails into one email.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's very easy to see which resources are available and see the inter dependencies between projects

What do you like best about the product?
The design - look and feel. It is a clean looking tool and you do not get lost while inside of it.
What do you dislike about the product?
When items are "sub tasks, " they can get lost as you are unable to view them as a drop-down on the main task list.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing for the higher ups to schedule tasks without having to contact us

The ease of use is great if you're looking for just a list of items to check off and too view history within them.

What do you like best about the product?
Very powerful tool that allows easy management of team and individual tasks. Especially useful for reccuring tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a better way to set up a catalog of SOPs (standard operating procedures). For many of the tasks, I'd like my team to be able to reference a guide on how to complete the task. The easiest way is to drop a google doc link into the task with the guide.

I love that you can have multiple projects with multiple different groups on the same account and have them very specifically laid out.
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing - I think this product continues to grow and is in the right direction.

You can email people for items through asana, remind deadlines, etc.

I think this the best free (and paid) project tracking software out there.
Most powerful project management software
What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Asana for more than a year now, and I haven't looked back ever since. Asana is a great project management tool! You can easily adapt it to any type of projects you work on. They have basic features like due dates, task assignments, filters, tags, and attachments. They also have more advanced features like task relationships (e.g., you can mark a task as waiting for another one), project templates and they recently introduced a new board view.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to see some type of advanced reporting feature. Exporting to CSV is something I use a lot, and it could be improved by allowing you to select what data you want to export.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana for personal projects and at my company. Personally, I use it as a social media planner. Project templates allow me to easily create monthly projects to plan the content for each month.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check out their new Boards feature. It's similar to Trello boards, but with all the other features that Asana offers you.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the functionality. A perfect tool for project management and organization! This is used primarily for beginning a project and divvying out assignments to each member of the team. Each project can be placed in whichever team's folder it coordinates with. Overall, a great tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are not a lot of things that I dislike about this product.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy Asana is to use and understand. I also like that it makes communication between myself and my team seamless. Also, the layout makes me concentrate on each project and take it one step at a time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is super easy to understand and use, however, the one thing I dislike is having to go into each "project" to see what needs to be done rather than a collective list of tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving the miscommunications between my team and I as we can see who is responsible for which tasks, what everyone is accomplishing, and being able to see the projects progress.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend this software for those who solely rely on email as the only form of communication between your team. This powerful piece of software makes you and your team work together as a whole and see how hard everyone is working. I would definitely try this software out if you haven't already. You won't be disappointed

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to see all my to do lists items on one page.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of desktop app. The iOS app can be cumbersome and slow. Aesthetics could be cleaner.

Trying to get projects finish and detailing every project along the way.

Projects are a little cumbersome to go through, I just put everything in one project titled "Schedule" that really helps to stay organized.
