I have enjoyed using Asana overall but would love to see a few improvements.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to assign projects to my team and track my own tasks using deadlines and projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was an easier way to create templates for tasks that are repeatable (i.e. every new client we register, every event we plan) and we use the same process each time. Right now we have created a project that we duplicate which is fine but is not user friendly. I would love to be able to use Zapier to create a new project once we close a deal.

I also wish I could assign multiple people to one task! Sometimes it's a team effort to complete a task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a nonprofit organization that is providing entrepreneurship & business education to young adults with developmental disabilities. We are a small organization (a team of 3) and are using Asana to be more productive.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great resource for small teams to better work together on projects!

Great App for tracking work

  • October 12, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to create and edit tasks, intuitive, and is great for tracking time spent on various projects. Very user-friendly and easy to navigate, even for people who are not too computer savvy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Requires upgrade for certain aspects. Subtasks all remain under the main task and do not show up on their separate due dates which can make tracking on large, multi-task items a little difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Improving communication and accountability between coworkers and teams within the company. This has helped organize members of different projects and helps everyone better manage their time.

Project Management Software Simplified

  • October 12, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's clean UI, ability to still access my tasks from app and offline. Asana makes it easy to share, collaborate and track team and individual projets.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are not to many things I don't like about Asana but I wish there was more customization and they had their own reporting feature vs relying on other services they connect with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Who's responsible for what, when is it due and how long will it take. I have benefited greatly from trying to figure out how to best assign, track and report on project related progress.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Play around with the service as it's currently free to do so on a limited team basics. When comparing others, it integrates very nicely with other providers.

Your to-do list app. But improved. WAY improved.

What do you like best about the product?
One of the things I like the most on Asana is the overview you can get of your different activities and projects. Besides, I can track the activities of other members of my team. You can set up dead lines, follow up the progress of projects, write instructions for specific tasks and so on. It also can be integrated with other tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not a very concrete feedback, but, for me, the dashboard is not that intuitive. On my opinion, it is a little bit polluted and it does not have a great design. The screen is divided in 4 sections and that can be somehow annoying until you get used to the interface. For this reason, I would give a 9.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can now better track the activities of our members working in different projects. We have task descriptions inside the projects, so the home office works better. We set up dead lines for each participant of the project. We are saving a lot of time with his.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
That is for sure a complete solution. If you do not need too many features, just the basic, that may be too much for you. It is not that intuitive and the interface is not that clean. But if you really want to go a little bit deeper, that might be something designed for your needs. In general, I would recommend it to people who have already used another tools for this purpose before.

Asans Use : Events

  • October 06, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is a good checklist system, especially for people who work in the events field. I would recommend having it be a little more clear when creating the tasks/assignments.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it was a little more detailed. A little more instruction would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm not solving business problems, but it does help keep me on track with my events as an event coordinator.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think it's a very helpful software for people in the events field.

good product if adopted

  • October 04, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
intuitive project manager. I like how you could put each project into different tasks and you could also see deadlines. It would have been nice if we would have had more support from the top
What do you dislike about the product?
Not really a problem with the software, but adoption was low so usage fizzled out. I think this problem would happen with any software though
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we needed to communicate with the tasks we were working on with the rest of our team. For a while, we did keep track of everything in ASANA, but when the manager changed the utilization died.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
easy to use and a powerful tool, but like any software it needs to have support from the top and buy in from the bottom. Overall, good product, but not a lot of enthusiasm from the underlings to use it. If it would have had more force from the top it probably would have stuck

Great solution for any size team

  • October 04, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
First and foremost, you get an awful lot out ofthis service even with the free version. A team of up to 10 people can utilize it on the free tier, with all features. We use it to coordinate projects between our 6 person IT team. I even use it at home to coordinate projects around the house with my spouse. Plus, you can't go wrong with Unicorns and Narwhals rewarding you for completing tasks!
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, the only criticism I have, and likely the only reason Asana doesn't get more users, is it doesn't do Gantt charts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Eliminating redundant work, project scheduling.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do the free trial, you won't regret it.

Decent product, but not my favorite team tool

  • October 04, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana makes project management easier for teams. It allows you to save documents and work individually while staying abreast of what your fellow teammates are doing. I have to say that it isn't always seamless! It does make communication easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that gantt charts were easier to integrate. I also wish that the software were more secure. It's difficult to convince some of our older team members that Asana will be beneficial! It's also a bit tricky to use regarding a learning curve for those that are not technologically inclined. So, I would say that for younger team members it is a better fit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were not using any software like Asana before now. It's solving just basic project management issues!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great tool to use if you have a younger team that is accustomed to integrated/intuitive software.

Great Task Management Tool

  • October 03, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Has been really helpful in keeping track of and prioritizing tasks, especially as part of a team of colleagues. We can all see how each other are doing and what the status of things are. Highly recommend Asana.
What do you dislike about the product?
In what I have used of Asana thus far, I have not come across any features that have negatively affected my use of the product. It has been only positive thus far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working together well on a team, keeping track of projects status and task management as a team has all been very helpful.

Easy to use people management tool

  • October 03, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The UI is easy to use and get started quickly. It's user friendly and you can add projects easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like them to add more features on the app, but overall no complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Overseeing projects to completion. It's easier than using texts, emails, and meeting time. It's useful for teams that are in different time zones.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure that everyone actually uses it and checks off their tasks on the system. Otherwise it defeats the point.
