Ease of Use, getting things done

  • July 12, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of the software. It is easy to navigate through and the search function is spectacular. The notification system is something that really helped Users get tasks finished at the end of the day. The User interface is obviously designed with the consumer in mind. I am able to easily collaborate with every member on my team : Enigneers, CEO, Sales, Marketing, HR, and etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how we cant change the font size sometimes. It is frustrating because sometimes we need to emphasize something or sometimes we need to go out of or way to bring attention to another thing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are more efficiently hitting and solving our business objectives. Day by day tasks are more clear and overall it seems likes employees are satisfied in terms with their OKR's. The benefits all and all come down to a injection of productivity.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend Asana to everybody.

Simple but effective adhoc task management, flexible

  • July 12, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
When I was first introduced to Kanban a number of years ago, there wasn't any really easy to use software out there that I liked, until I was introduced to Asana. The notifications, project visualizations and overall UI is superb. They also continue to advance the product, some of the newer project management features and the things on the road map are particularly exciting.
What do you dislike about the product?
For non technical people who are used to working in email, it can be a difficult learning curve, but if you stick with it (them), they get the hang as soon as the concept clicks for them. I'd like to see more templates made available for starting projects with boards, there are a few good ones now, but there could be so many more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting work tasks, especially adhoc tasks, out of email and into a trackable system so that everyone on the team knows what is done, what is being worked on and what isn't. It makes the whole team more efficient. It also helps with alignment and communications broadly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are unfamiliar with the concept of boards, I suggest reviewing all the videos they have that explain some of the kanban concepts as well as how different types of people use it. You might also be interested in going to Youtube and searching for how to get the most out of kanban or how to get the most out of Asana. There are a lot of videos and user reviews out there beyond this site and some fantastic guides.

Asana helps me organize projects and make lists

  • July 07, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can share lists with team members and make comments and notes about each task. It is also helpful to assign tasks to different people, it makes it easy to work with a team. I like how I can separate and colour code my projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the way the side bar is designed, it makes it difficult to find projects. I also found the free version very limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me to collaborate with others on projects in an organized manner. It is easy to share and invite others to join. I like using the app that helps me stay organized when I am away from my desk.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend Asana to anyone wanting to better organize their projects. I like that there is an app that you can use on the go. And it is good for collaborating with others.

Project Management System for Your Whole Team!

  • July 07, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Each project is listed, with each task that is needed. We are able to set up templates and copy those for projects that have like tasks, but yet, we can add in new tasks or adjust or change after we copy the template. Overall Asana provides us with a lot of options for all the project we work on for all our clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this time, I really don't have anything I don't like. We've been using it company wide for over a month and it has helped us to stay more on top of our projects, but seeing our "My Tasks" tab which also provides you with a way to organize and categorize the tasks that is listed specifically for you.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Complete tasks on time. Assign tasks to team members to ensure that a step or task is not missed during our project scope for what we've agreed to complete for clients. We also use Asana with our clients, and to date, it's working nicely to give them the inner view of how the project is proceeding, which we update them each week with a weekly report, but they can check Asana whenever they'd like as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a Project Management system that will allow you to provide your team with the best of both worlds - giving them their tasks and have everything in one system for task driven completion, then hands down, Asana is a smart choice.

Great organizational tool with a wide variety of free features.

  • July 07, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana provides all of the basic tools that you need to organize a project free of charge. You will find the basic elements you expect to see in a project management tool. Tasks can be setup in a list or card style, and assigned to team members. You can easily create multiple projects for a team. Files can be directly linked to a task, and a files area is available to view all shared files in a single location.
What do you dislike about the product?
The jump from free to paid is steep as it is billed by user. Being a web application is a good thing making asana compatible with almost every device, but the lack of a desktop application is frustrating. Integrations are offered through a wide variety of applications, but usually at an additional cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana organizes our team, and allows us to see what one another is working on at the moment. It helps the team achieve their deadlines, and keep our schedules in sync.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for project management with a clean intuitive interface give asana a try. You can fully organize a team using asana, but if you want to integrate with other tools or have asana integrated into another tool be prepared to purchase a premium subscription.

Asana Review

  • June 29, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana was a very easy to use application. I liked that it can be accessed from any device - desktop, phone, tablet. It was easy to create and manage communication and tasks within the each respective project.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is a fairly simple tool used best for cardwall/to-do list type of projects. It's best for the projects that have little task dependencies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
An easy way to connect and collaborate with folks across different departments for the same project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great tool when planning events or programs only requiring a to-do list. It's simple to create projects and tasks and to add/assign folks to the appropriate tasks. If your team functions best with reminders, this application can be set to send daily reminds to complete overdue tasks until they are completed. I would not recommend this for projects or programs that require a lot of task dependencies.

Asana keeps me on track

  • June 27, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the following features best:
-ability to tag coworkers
-upload multiple versions of files
-add subtasks to a larger task/project
-ability to sort tasks by due date/tag/project
What do you dislike about the product?
The primary thing I dislike is the integration with slack. The notifications were *constant* so our team ended up turning them off. It seems like it could be helpful to integrate a slack note to an asana task, but you could just have asana open in a different window.

I also have doubts about it being project management "without e-mail" because you still get notices of comments and task due date reminders/prompts via e-mail.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have an entirely remote team and are often working on several projects simultaneously, with shifting priorities. Asana is really helpful in keeping us organized and having a central location for tracking progress. This has also helped us better integrate our team into other departments that we work with. The ability to all see one project and it's progress - outside of just meeting times - has helped us improve cross-functional collaboration.

Great Task Management

  • June 27, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The great thing about Asana is how detailed you can get, even in the free version. We currently use the free version as we are still new to it, and it has a lot of different options. I also like how it integrates with Slack (we are starting to use that too), and when someone comments on a task, we can reply in Slack and it documents into Asana.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be very helpful to be able highlight sub-tasks in a color, like you can with regular tasks. There is a work-around (tags), but that takes more time, and we tend to forget. Also, it would be great if we could archive columns in projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are very disorganized with lots of ownership questions within different projects, so this program really helps to identify who does what, and then good to be able to look back and see what was decided.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want more organization, this is a very good product. However, it is very important to know how your office works and the different tasks for each person in order to get this going. It can also be a rough transition if you aren't using anything prior to this.

Excellent Project Management

  • June 27, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the organization in Asana and how easy it is to create projects with team members, tasks, timelines, and invite clients in to collaborate with us. The task list makes it super easy to see how your day/week looks and makes you feel accomplished when you can check something off.
What do you dislike about the product?
Conversations get lost sometimes in the news feed. When several people are collaborating on a project it's sometimes hard to loop the third person into a conversation since it can only be assigned to one person at a time. It'd be great to be able to assign one task to multiple people rather than assign a copy so that several people can be included in the alerts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization of project time lines and people's to do lists. We also introduce bigger clients to asana to work with us in the software and they love it. They have the capability to be involved in the project and see progress as we work on it. It helps alleviate email and make sure that projects are not falling through the cracks. It is also a great communication tool for leadership in the company to keep ongoing private notes and remind ourselves of important things on a monthly/weekly basis if needed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We are still playing around with the pros and cons of pin boards versus lists for projects. They offer both views but you cannot switch it once you choose. Some project timelines work better on boards than others, but tasks don't disappear which is sometimes annoying. So it does take some testing on what works best for your projects and sometimes starting a project over with a new type of task list.

Project Management & Oversight

  • June 25, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use a couple different project management softwares for different teams and projects we are working on. We especially like Asana for our federal contracts in that it makes it easy to create to do lists for our team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, it's pretty seamless and they have a good mobile app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management
To do list
Team coordination
Team communication
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Using the mobile app is easier than the desktop.. We have out inspectors use ipads in the field and upload docs and images to the app inside the app. We like how easy it is to use and recomend you download to try it out.
