Love Asana's Organization

  • August 03, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love being able to collaborate in a virtual work environment. We stay updated on where each of our projects stand at a glance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, conversations get lost if you are not directly assigned to a task. You have to organization and archive your inbox well to stay on top of conversations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being a virtual work environment, we try to stay connected on who is working on what. There are great benefits to being able to work on several projects at a time and know what each person is doing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do all the tutorials first to make sure you are informed of all Asana has to offer. There are several features you would never know about if you didn't go through a setup guide.

Helpful if used CORRECTLY

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can view all of my tasks on an easy to use dashboard. I also like that I can view my tasks by due dates, projects, etc. and search tasks by keywords. It is nice that I can view all tasks and even completed tasks only so I can track what I have done.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that it is not intuitive to create a task or subtask. It is a bit of an awkward interface. I also dislike that there is no "save" button and that the task is just saved automatically because I like confirmation and the ability to undo something before it goes through.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am tracking my progress at work through Asana as well as assigning tasks to others and keeping my manager in the loop as to my progress.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend that you look at other softwares first, I am sure that there is better softwares out there that are easier to use.

Asana for Teams ROCKS

  • August 01, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I work with team members in all different locations and it can be challenging to stay on the same and avoid duplicative work with a project management system. After a few failed attempts with different PM software platforms, we landed on Asana and have been happy with its visually appealing interface and easy-to-use platform. We will be sticking with Asana!
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love more options for syncing tasks with calendars.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team collaboration is now a cinch. We are more efficient and work better together.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try a few different platforms on a trial basis to make sure Asana has everything you want in a platform. We are really happy with our decision.

Great if you go all in

  • July 28, 2016

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, cloud based, virtually no on boarding required. Kinda like a Mac, its easy to understand
What do you dislike about the product?
Tough for process and task reporting, if you are into that kinda thing. Task reporting is clunky at best, and for setting up processes and cloning projects, tasks it can be tough arranging board layouts and nested tasks. Basically if you don't go all in on asana then you are not in the work flow enough, if you deep dive and go all in, it is great for teams and repetitive tasks - I'm looking at you onboarding team and setup squads.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Look for workflow, process management. Its pretty good for task based activity, if you don't have to go back and report them out. Not bad for notes, and general house keeping.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go all in with your integration and use to get the most out of it.

A great upgrade to our project management

  • July 27, 2016

What do you like best about the product?
Before Asana, we were using good-old-fashioned Excel to track our projects and their owners and statuses. But, when we went from a 3-person team to a 7-person team, it was time to find a better option. We've been really happy with Asana. Our Marketing Communication team members use it all day, every day, to track project assignments, due dates, and next steps. It's also where we house the actual drafts to be reviewed. I can also click into each team member to assess their workload and assignments. Search capabilities are great for tracking down any project we're currently working on or have completed.
What do you dislike about the product?
It took a little while to figure out the best way to use it for our team and establish some protocols (what constitutes a project? A subtask? How do we pass tasks back and forth?). But we've got a nice process now. I do wish there were more options for viewing our projects and workloads, such as all projects, by calendar (more like a Gantt chart).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a higher tech solution and one-stop shop to track our projects and manage the workflow of reviewing and finalizing drafts, and Asana has done just that. We use a free version and it gives us everything we need.

Best Task Management Software

  • July 26, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
If you have a to-do list, you need Asana. Asana is my team's task and project management system of record. As a manager, I don't know how I could function without it. It helps me and my team to keep things from falling through the cracks. It is simple to use and organized just like a to-do list. Sub-tasks, dependent tasks and recurring tasks are super nice functionality that I haven't found in other project management software.

I love the calendar feature and drag and drop functionality. It allows me to see what my team is doing every day and make sure they are being productive and getting things done. It also allows me to know when they need my feedback and let me check off when I am done reviewing their work.

We are a small team (6 people) but Asana works perfectly for us!
What do you dislike about the product?
We still manage work order requests via google docs instead of asana because it allows for better categorization and reporting. A better reporting module and/or task duplication/status feature would make it easier to incorporate these types of requests into asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is great for showing my bosses that my team is working hard. It also allows for visibility within my team so everyone knows what stage projects are at without having to ask. It makes us all a lot more efficient and productive.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For newbies, Asana can seem overwhelming at first. Take the time to get used to it and it will come naturally after a while.

A;sp. it might be useful at first for personal purposes, but start using with a team and you'll realize the full benefit.

Asana is awesomeana

What do you like best about the product?
It's super easy to use. One of the best project management tools I've used (and I've used a lot!)
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how easy it is to accidentally archive the new project instead of view it and then I have to go back and undo. I feel like there should be a very specific archive button to avoid accidentally doing this all the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication and tasking is 100x easier with this tool.

Long time Asana Advocate

  • July 26, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Asana is essentially a super organized digital to do list. I can communicate where I'm at with a certain task, keep deadlines in place, and bump tasks over to coworkers and supervisors when I've done my part. The ability to organize each task whether it be for a specific project, or even personal use is incredibly helpful. I often find myself making tasks for mundane things that help with my lack of memory and constant distractions during the day. I've used asana with three different jobs in the past two years (all different industries) and it makes me more efficient in every setting.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love the ability to be able to create my own categories other than new tasks, today, and upcoming. I'd love long-term options, 'waiting on', etc. I dislike the format that comes up when someone replies to a task via email, the comments tend to a get a little messy where photos/signatures are concerned.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana creates less of a need for consistent communication. It helps me personally to be less micro-managed at my position because my supervisor can simply look at my tasks and see exactly where it stands at that moment, as well as provide additional input quickly. When I'm waiting on something from a coworker or supervisor, assigning a task to them is a subtle push to move forward, thus taking that task off of their personal to do list.

Asana is great for freelancers

  • July 22, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In my opinion, Asana is one of the better tools to use for small groups and/or individuals. I needed something that would sync with my calendar, function on an app (as well as on my laptop), and not become yet another thing to manage during my busy day. Asana met all of these needs. Lately, I've been loving the addition of the "Mark as waiting on" feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the app is inconsistent on reminders - some days I don't get push notifications and other days I do. I have it set up not to give them to me, so I'm not sure why some of those days I do get them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time management and organization. As an entrepreneur who has a lot of client work to accomplish, it's great to have a tool I can count on that works seamlessly with my iCal.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try this if you're in the middle of needing something for personal to do lists and managing huge networks of people.
