Zoom Workplace – My Honest Take
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Zoom Workplace for a few months now, and overall, it is a solid platform, especially if your team is already used to Zoom for meetings. But it has grown far beyond just video calls, it is now a full productivity suite with chat, phone, whiteboarding, and AI tools built in.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you are just looking for meetings and chat, it might feel a bit heavy. But if you are ready to utilize its full suite of features (especially the AI tools), it’s genuinely impressive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using Zoom Workplace, we were juggling different platforms for meetings, chat, document sharing, and task tracking. It was inefficient and led to missed messages, duplicate work, and confusion about where things were stored or discussed.

Great app for group calls
What do you like best about the product?
Zoom is a really easy platform to use, which makes it great for school, work, or just catching up with people. I like how simple it is to join a meeting, and the video and sound are usually really clear. Features like screen sharing and breakout rooms make it easier to collaborate in groups or have private discussions during larger calls. The chat function is also super helpful for sharing links or asking questions without interrupting the speaker. One fun thing is the virtual backgrounds—you can switch up your space without actually having to clean your room, which is definitely a plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
On the downside, Zoom isn’t always perfect. It can lag or freeze up, especially if someone’s Wi-Fi isn’t strong, and that can really slow things down. The 40-minute time limit on the free version is also frustrating when meetings get cut off unexpectedly. After being on Zoom for a long time, it starts to feel really tiring and hard to concentrate. There are also some privacy concerns, like accidentally leaving your camera or mic on, and it uses a lot of internet, so a bad connection makes everything harder. While Zoom has a lot of useful features, it definitely has room for improvement too.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For me, it’s helpful because everything is in one place—video calls, messaging, file sharing, screen sharing, and breakout rooms. It makes group work more organized and cuts down on confusion. I don’t have to switch between a bunch of apps to communicate or collaborate, and it helps me stay connected and focused even if I’m working or learning from home.

Zoom Workplace: Streamlined Collaboration for the Modern Workforce
What do you like best about the product?
Zoom Workplace excels by unifying essential tools—meetings, chat, phone, mail, whiteboard, and project Spaces—into one seamless platform, eliminating app switching. Its standout AI Companion automates productivity: generating meeting summaries/action items, drafting messages, and brainstorming in Whiteboard. Persistent Spaces create organized hubs for projects, keeping chats, files, and tasks centralized. Robust scheduling tools and engagement features (polls, clips, reactions) make meetings efficient and inclusive. Together, these features streamline hybrid/remote workflows, boost team collaboration, drive tangible business results (like cost savings and productivity gains), and simplify IT management—all within a secure, scalable environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly? Zoom Workplace sometimes feels like too much. I miss the simple 'just meet' days. Now, I'm drowning in tabs for Spaces, Whiteboard, and Mail – it's overwhelming, and half these tools feel half-baked compared to what I used before (looking at you, Whiteboard vs. Miro!). The AI summaries are handy but often miss the mark, needing me to rewrite them. And the constant pings across Chat, Spaces, and tasks? Exhausting. It tries to be everything, but that integration comes with bloat and a steep learning curve I didn't ask for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zoom Workplace (the expanded platform beyond just Zoom Meetings) tackles several key challenges in modern work, particularly for hybrid and remote teams, and its solutions generally provide significant benefits. It has tackled the inefficiency of fragmented tools, unproductive meetings, and remote collaboration friction by integrating meetings, chat, phone, whiteboard, docs, and AI into a single platform. This has solved key hybrid/remote work challenges, streamlining workflows, reducing app switching, and boosting productivity through features like AI summaries and persistent project spaces. It has simplified IT management and enhanced security. Ultimately, it has benefitted me by making teams more connected, efficient, and effective, regardless of location.
