Zooming thru Covid Lockdown!
What do you like best about the product?
Zoom is a great tool to keep us all connected during this time of "social distancing" and lockdowns and "work from home" scenarios that we are all so familiar with these days. It is easy to install and set up and works with most operating systems and phone providers. It has a pretty extensive toolbox right out of the gate - unlike similar tools (i.e. Google Meet) that need addons for additional functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not a whole lot to dislike other than the bandwidth required to use it to its full potential.
They have done some significant improvements during the COVID time and have made it a lot more intuitive so they are working on it...

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Zoom for large staff meetings - which are still prohibited here I live. While many of us work from home, we are still able to meet sort of face to face via the Zoom platform. An unexpected benefit we realized is that the "work from home" or "work from anywhere" model CAN actually work - with the right adjustments...
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Zoom Basic - the free version is great for personal use - with the caveat that you can only have a 40 minute meeting/call. So - keep that in mind. If you want a longer meeting time, the paid versions are reasonably priced.

What do you like best about the product?
So easy to use, to set up new meetings and webinars, and get people invited. The analytics are great as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
When you are sharing your screen sometimes it is hard to find the zoom interface/console again to mute/unmute or any other host settings. We always have to have to people on to make sure it runs smooth.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
That we can have meetings again, which we cannot do in person at this time. That we do not have to do as much travel in the future to have productive meetings.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Awesome platform, works for small to extremely large meetings, and it very easy for the whole team to use. Partners well with many of our other products like Hubspot, which allows us to make sure we are maximizing our ROI on Zoom and others.

Love being able to work from home and still stay in touch with my co-workers through zoom conferences!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really! Maybe the fact that I actually have to dress appropriately to appear on camera!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Been working from home for 6 months now and still keeping in touch and coordinating everything with co-workers just like we did in in-person meetings at the office! In my personal life have been taking yoga classes using zoom as well. Have amazing teachers and the classes feel as nice and just as productive as in person classes did! The teacher is live with us, correcting our posture,giving us tips on how to improve the poses, etc.. Definitely making it easier to stay in shape while staying safe at home during these pandemic times. Connection is always on point and stable, never had issues at all even when in conference with people overseas!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely way better than skype, much more stable and reliable!

Video and Sound is so appealing that it feels that person is siting next to your table.

Sudden turn off video not sure what is the exact reason of that.

We are using the Zoom workspace for internal meetings, client discussions, and compliance-related interactions. Access to the workspace is restricted to authorized users, and we are assigning roles and permissions based on job responsibilities.
For meetings where sensitive or client information is discussed, we are using security features such as waiting room, meeting passwords, and controlled screen sharing. Wherever recording is required, we are ensuring that it is stored securely with limited access, in line with our internal AML and data protection policies.
We are not using Zoom for any financial transactions or for storing sensitive customer financial data. Any confidential information shared during meetings is kept to a minimum and handled as per regulatory and internal compliance requirements.
We are periodically reviewing the usage of the Zoom workspace to ensure it is aligned with AML guidelines and internal policies. If any gaps or risks are identified, we are taking appropriate corrective actions.
Overall, we are using the Zoom workspace in a controlled manner with necessary safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, data leakage, or misuse.

Sometimes it feels like security depends too much on how the meeting is set up by the user. If settings like password or waiting room are not used properly, there can be risk of unwanted people joining.
Also, people may accidentally share screen or discuss sensitive information without realizing, so from compliance side we need to be careful.
Recording storage and where the data is saved is also not always very clear, so we have to monitor that properly.
Overall, it is useful for meetings, but we need to use it carefully from security and compliance point of view.
