All around strong solution

  • January 25, 2019

What do you like best about the product?
To be honest, the BEST part about Zoom is the ease of use. For the MOSt part, it's download, click and go... and sometimes, you even skip the dowload. Running from the browser limits some functionality for users, but at least your clients will be able to enter, even if they're on a Chromebook.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I would change about Zoom would be to include the ability to dial out (call someone else's phone number) in the basic level subscription. I would use absolutely this feature.

One other issue is that the Zoom app needs to be updated, and I don't get the notifications every time. I try to stay on top of checking for updates, but to be honest, I'm busy and have other things to think about. Suddenly, I've got a client who's having all kinds of trouble entering the meeting... because *they* haven't updated. A big pop-up reminder to update might be mildly annoying in the moment, but 100% worth it in the long run.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My clients are remote and, often, not tech-comfy. Other software solutions, well, just didn't work for THEM (so they didn't work for me). Zoom is so simple, it's been an all around success with my tech-shy clients. Even my computer phobic clients have smart phones, and are able to make a Zoom "call." The first successful call has them hooked. They LIKE to see me, and quickly, they are teleconferencing like it's nothing. THEN - we can focus on the work (hooray)!

The ability to record Zoom meetings is a nice plus. It creates a static memory that anyone can go back and check. This has been helpful both for myself and for the clients.

Screen sharing is SO easy. Again, not only am I able to share the screen, but my non-tech-savvy clients have been able to do so as well and they even "lived through it." No scarring! There are some nice tools to annotate directly onto whatever is being shared.

The video and audio controls are simple to use and very helpful. Uploading an avatar or profile picture can allow you to start a meeting early in case one of the other attendees wants to pop in, and step away from your computer without worrying about someone arriving to see an empty chair.

I'm also a fan of the ability to schedule meetings. I appreciate the ease of putting these scheduled meetings into my calendar (I use GSuite) and invite others to the calendar event. This sends them ALL the information they need to access the meeting: links, phone numbers, and meeting ID in addition to day and time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it. JUST DO IT. You can get a free account. Now, this limits your meeting length. Test yourself and see how often you go past that meeting length. When you are working so well you forget about the tool - that's a GOOD tool.

Zooming In on Efficiency: A Comprehensive Review

  • January 18, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of Use: Zoom is often praised for its user-friendly interface, making it accessible to people with varying levels of technical expertise. The straightforward design and simple navigation contribute to its popularity.

Versatility: Zoom is a versatile platform suitable for various purposes, from casual virtual meetings to large-scale webinars. It offers a range of features, including screen sharing, breakout rooms, and virtual backgrounds, catering to diverse needs.

Reliability: Many users find Zoom to be a reliable platform with stable audio and video quality. The platform's ability to adapt to varying internet conditions helps ensure a consistent user experience.

Security Features: Zoom has implemented numerous security features to protect user privacy and data. This includes features like waiting rooms, password protection, and end-to-end encryption, providing users with a sense of security during their virtual interactions.

Integration with Other Tools: Zoom integrates well with other popular collaboration and productivity tools, such as Google Calendar, Microsoft Teams, and Slack. This makes it convenient for users who rely on multiple platforms for their work.

Recording and Transcription: The ability to record meetings and generate transcripts is a valuable feature for many users. It allows participants to revisit discussions, review important points, and share information with those who couldn't attend.

Accessibility: Zoom has made efforts to enhance accessibility features, such as closed captioning and screen reader support, making it inclusive for users with different accessibility needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Security Issues: Zoom faced security and privacy concerns, especially in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Issues like "Zoombombing," where uninvited participants disrupted meetings, prompted the company to enhance its security features.

Privacy Concerns: Some users have raised privacy concerns regarding data collection and sharing. Zoom has updated its privacy policy and implemented measures to address these issues, but privacy remains a consideration for some users.

Fatigue from Prolonged Use: Users have reported experiencing "Zoom fatigue" or fatigue from prolonged video conferencing. The constant need to be on camera, coupled with staring at screens for extended periods, can be tiring for some individuals.

User Interface Complexity: While Zoom is generally praised for its user-friendly interface, some users, particularly those new to the platform, may find certain features or settings a bit complex or overwhelming.

Dependency on Internet Connection: The quality of Zoom meetings heavily relies on the participants' internet connections. Issues such as dropped calls, audio/video lag, or poor quality can occur, especially in areas with unstable internet connectivity.

Limited Free Plan Features: The free version of Zoom has limitations on meeting duration for group meetings and lacks some advanced features available in paid plans. This can be a drawback for users looking for a comprehensive solution without subscription costs.

Accessibility Challenges: While Zoom has made strides in improving accessibility, some users, particularly those with specific disabilities, may still face challenges in fully utilizing the platform's features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If you are looking for quality and stability, Zoom is your alternative.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can record the video conference on your computer or in a cloud service (if you have a plan other than the free one) directly provided by Zoom. Remember that to record another person you need your consent. As in the other two programs, you can easily share files during class or share the screen to use in explanations with the whiteboard.

Excellent

What do you like best about the product?
Sound quality, ease of use, screen sharing, the ability to host meetings without being present (i.e. set up an automatic host and then let participants join without having to be manually let in).
What do you dislike about the product?
More granularity in managing permissions would be helpful. For example, allowing participants to record without the host's permission (i.e., allowing people to start a recording without the host having to be present and give permission manually).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Call quality is better than Skype for Business. Connecting is easier too. The screen sharing runs smoothly, which is a major plus. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work in some countries, so we often have to switch to Google Meet to accommodate participants who have trouble downloading the Zoom app or who can't connect via the web. The installed app can be a bit cumbersome to work with, but on the plus side, has a lot of features. It would be great if it allowed more management of permissions so the user / admin doesn't have to switch between the installed desktop app and the web browser account page.

It's great and I love being able to see and talk to people

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to connect with people across the country and see and hear them. Being able to share the screen and do break out rooms
What do you dislike about the product?
The video is sometimes glitchy and the actually of the sound goes in and out. Doesn't happen very often though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to connect with people any where across the country and build a business. People get to see and feel the type of person you are as opposed to just over the phone.

Effective, has everything I need

  • October 17, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Gotten way better over the last few years. Love the interactivity (like whiteboarding), emoji replies, and breakout features. What I really need in a virtual meeting is ways to help people interact and engage.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a hustling entrepreneur, honestly... the pricing. It's a great tool but the cost is not insignificant. And even if I wanted to select something else for this reason, unfortunately everyone else uses / expects Zoom, so it's a must have for my business now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy meeting option that's easy enough for clients to use. Has great interactivity features that keep people engaged (in a time where people are virtually overloaded)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure clients using it for the first time try to access the meeting early, ahead of the meeting, so they have time to set up (as with any other web conferencing option).

zoom its cool, easy to use and friendly, it could be use with large group of people, also business

  • October 08, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
you can have a lot of people at the same time and you can moderate the conversations
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not encountered anything as a user that I dislike about Zoom. I would recommend it for companies and also for friends., is not expensive and you get a good and professional platform. every bussines during this pandemic time, used it with good results.
most of the business meetings were held here. the only thing i dont like its that the invitation process its not friendly. i could be a lot easier in order to avoid explaining people how to use it, also to shut down the microphones to avoid people talking at the same time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
meetings with large group of people.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I love it, its easy and you can manage a lot of people at the same time

Still the number 1 video conf platform out there in my opinion

  • August 21, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, very fast to fire up (as opposed to other solutions out there) and video is very neat and clear. They've been adding a lot of features in the past months since the pandemic changed the game for everyone, and it's much more stable than other platforms (include Teams and Google Meet in my opinion), but most importantly, it gives my customers a way easier way to connect and participate in meetings.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not a lot at this point I don't like. If anything I wish the streaming experience from zoom into other platforms (like linkedin live) was smoother, but I am not sure I can blame that on zoom. I would love to be able to use a higher resolution cam (like 4k) that actually looks like one too, but I reckon my internet connection and my laptop also need an upgrade.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's making it very easy for me to meet with anyone I work with or for. I can do webinars, I can invite customers for 1:1s and can even hold quick calls and meetings without needing to dial. It's just one click and I'm there!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There's plenty of options if you need teleconference / videoconference / webinars but not as many that gather all 3 at a very convenient price. Give it a try. It hasn't let me down in the almost full year I've been using it, and that's a lot to say honestly as I'm quite the tester.

What do you like best about the product?
I can meet up with family and friends all over the planet for support meetings, classes, or holiday events.
What do you dislike about the product?
sometimes we have experienced "Zoom Bombings" in which some troll said inappropriate things and traumatized our techie.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to take business classes online, as well as Ancient Secrets Academy courses and Imaginative Storm webinars, among other events.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
if you are at all into video conferencing with a group or another individual, go get Zoom

The best personal & professional gateway - connector on the planet TO DATE!

  • June 08, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Audio/Visual, Clear Robust/ easily accessed with clear directions that even "elderly & children" can follow
Recordability/share screen ability - this is brilliant and so needed for the training room environment we use
Easy to learn and use - I was using ZOOM a good 2 years before COVID started, I was tired of the competition, and it's lack of interest in tackling the challenges
I also didn't want to have to use several different platforms, Webinars, and connections, and I didn't want to be limited by classroom sizes to the degree we were previously, even with paid account (SKYPE)

The connections with other systems were not reliable and it seemed most fragile when it was absolutely needed!
Getting my groups to engage through ZOOM at first was challenging... partially they didn't like being held to silence! Which was another great tool to help presentations move along in the timelines allowed

Eventually, with COVID it forced the world to virtual connections and I was really happy to be ahead of the game and easily step into the new roles helping our business continue when things were really challenging

PS: While your PS is great too, and I'll keep it here as well, my PS is I have been a sales advocate for ZOOM and the ZOOM team since the very beginning. I feel like I should have shares in the company, at the least, if not be on the payroll!
(Just have to add this I LOVE ZOOM really really I do. It's changing the way I deliver my programs it's giving me new customers in new countries, and it's amazing, and I'm so glad I have it to help my business grow Thank you Development Team!)
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like better screen backgrounds within ZOOM itself. I've made my own via other systems, however, ZOOM could be more helpful in this, not just wavy ocean breezes and blurred screen backdrops...
Suggesting : Classrooms of the future back grounds, Videos similar to our desktops that could float our marketing behind the presenter
Easier and better sound inclusion. When we have two trainers or use music and voice overs it's terrible and at the mixing level for producing it, they are so bad we often just have to redo the piece anyway

Also the new feature for the presenter to be IN THE PRESENTATION is awesome, but tricky to use, some more thought needs to go into this - it's both useful and helps keep the focus on the trainer - PowerPoint is now doing similar -
I love the new features in the Whiteboard... great stuff, what I don't understand is why it's not the whiteboard coming up in my ZOOM account when I share screens?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Serving our clients via ZOOM is lifesaving- business saving,!!! However, the online training, recording the training which I would really LIKE to be able to repackage and sell, is not high enough quality to charge for it.
We need some attention to this area for deliverables at levels we can turn training into a product. Right now, it's not high enough quality:
1: all the attendees are in the ZOOM recordings too, making the saved presentation not something we can sell
2: the sound quality is not good enough on the save
3: the MP4s are not as clean as they need to be fore resale

Distance Coaching and different Time Lines, I have clients in Europe & Italy, as well as Australia and S. California, - it's global! Now I'm global! (this is so true for us)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's beyond what other webinar companies are offering, ease of use, support is instant from a LIVE person, quality attention to my business is really important, feed back, it's really changed my business.
