Powerful, Friendly and Reliable Conferencing

  • June 02, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is one of the best features of Zoom. It's friendly and approachable in ways that Webex and Skype have historically not been. Moreover it's reliable. I've never found Zoom to let me down, whether it's a personal one-on-one call with a friend or a business meeting with 10 or more people present. The product also works on multiple platforms. It's great on the desktop as well as on a smartphone.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not too bad, but Zoom was criticized recently for lack of security compared with competitors. So they jumped in quickly and tightened up the security. For a while it seemed mandatory to have passwords and waiting rooms, and this added layer confused me and the others I wanted to communicate with. More recently it seems to have stabilized. I now use the waiting room feature but don't bother with passwords.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps my small virtual team stay in touch with one another, wherever we live and work. For example my chief developer is in Maine, and I'm in Massachusetts in the U.S. Of course we also use it with clients reviewing the sales and marketing materials we develop. It's screen share feature is powerful and reliable.

Zoom has become the go to for meetings

  • May 29, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Zoom is fairly easy to use for non-tech people. Very few issues with connectivity and audio lag. zoom. It has many features you can choose to use, such as polls and breakout rooms This has helped keep people engaged during meetings. Not having to use a green screen for a virtual background has been a huge advance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The layout of all the controls can be a little confusing. Some are bottom left, some top right, some hidden until you know they are there. This can slow down the workflow if you are unfamiliar with the process. A panel of controls in one place would perhaps be more effective. Being able to add a breakout room after the rooms are opened would be a great feature to add. Currently you have to close the rooms and recreate. Also, being able to name the rooms and not have that change when you recreate would be nice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
During COVID, this has been the best way to continue group get-togethers and meetings. It allows us to have weekly meetings, use PowerPoint to stay on track, and maintain a connection. The free accounts are great for short meetings and have allowed more to use it in this time of isolation. It has allowed businesses to connect more personally with those outside our normal geographic area. Attending new groups, meetings, and organizations that have formed online has been a great business advantage, and even using zoom to replace local face-to-face meetings has saved countless hours of travel time and bills for expensive coffee.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check out the video tutorials and practice a few times before the meeting. It can be a little tricky finding everything you need to click and practice can be a game changer.

Zoom Workplace Review

  • April 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the consistency of the product. Zoom has been able to maintain consistency in how the product operates, integrate new features, continue popular features, all without changing the basic functionality of the end product. For me, when i start using a product and each new "update" requires me to learn a new way to work with the product, it often gets overwhelming and ultimately too complex to use efficiently. Because I use Zoom Workplace very often, I see the changes as they happen, and if there is ever an issue with something not working or unclear how to use, customer support is very attentive and prompt. Also, Zoom was a very easy transition during the Covid era and the whole platform just made it easy to go from in-person meetings to meetings online with little to no interruption in the services I provide.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the fact that I cannot verbally chat with only one person in the meeting (a.k.a. sidebar) if I wanted to share something. I have to do that ONLY in the chat feature or via file share. While I can do this in a private breakout room, the host must create that room and I'd have to leave the main meeting to do so. I also do not like that if I share a pdf, for example, my attendees cannot see it. I cannot figure out why this is so.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a teacher, this has allowed me to stay personally connected with my students and maintain my class structure and accountability. Also in this regard, it has allowed me to continue to help individual students by connecting with them virtually and helping them through homework problems. I have many students who go on to college and because Zoom is virtual, I am able to meet with them, or even hold classes with them even though they are far away. It has made getting groups together for the purposes of education very easy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try all of the alternatives. Zoom is NOT the only virtual meeting software available. There are many free options. However, once you do, you will find that precious few of then have the capabilities of Zoom. In my experience, only one other piece of software has been able to provide the same basic functionality as Zoom, but Zoom still wins, for me, in overall features applicable to my experience.

Zoom is one of the most reliable meetings tool out there

  • April 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I always use Zoom when it comes to conversations online. It's more personal and builds more trust when I am talking with clients or potential clients than chatting over email. It's easy to make presentations and share the most important details about a meeting. I always had a great experience using zoom as an attendee/listener. Every option is easily available and you can find it fast. Sound settings are clear and separate in zoom than on a computer and the setup of speakers and microphone is easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes people are not sure how to set up a call and schedule it and send the invite so you need to always copy the ID and password to join which is a little inconvenient, especially If you have a lot of different IDs for other meetings as well. This could be emphasized. The option to raise your hand is a little bit hidden under the part called to participate and would be great if would be better accessible. We cannot send files over zoom anymore.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving the problem of distant communication and getting more people, connecting with clients, have easy and seamless communication. I use it for online classes as well as for sharing the material. It saves me time and it is really convenient to join I don't need to worry to connect or not as I know it will always work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking to connect with your clients more 1-1 and build instant trust, zoom is an easy-to-use meeting tool. It's reliable and has lot's of options to create a great meeting experience for every party involved.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
So far, Zoom has been an incredible competitor to Teams. The massive software updates that we normally get are really helpful .
What do you dislike about the product?
So far so good! For now I feel Zoom's productivity is great!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zoom have been of much importance especially during the corona virus times. I have been using zoom for solely job interviews and family meetings and this has helped I and my family a lot.

Zoom is a great tool when working remote

  • April 21, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that zoom works perfect on all my devices. It is great for my laptop which I love to use the most. If I am really mobile it works great on my iPhone. It is the perfect way to have meetings regardless of where you are.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only thing about Zoom I am not sure about is the price points for each plan and is a paid plan necessary?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Right now with COVID-19 Zoom has made it easy to stay connected with clients. Where I usually meet with my clients to review projects, we can now meet online and share screens. Before the pandemic I used it when meeting up was not necessary or clients were out of state.

What I have learned is with Zoom even after the Quarantines are lifted it will still be great to use this tool rather than having to meet in person.

The Future of Video Conferencing

  • April 21, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Zoom makes it easy to connect and collaborate with teammates seamlessly. The video and audio quality are great, and the backgrounds are a lot of fun. It's a simple conferencing tool to use, although it could use better support. I've had a lot of success using Zoom with external candidates, and it has met my team's needs when it comes to remotely hosting interviews.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some major privacy concerns have arisen, but it seems they are being taken very seriously to protect against vulnerabilities. With all newer platform tools, especially those that are cloud-based, security issues will arise, but the more important thing is how the company will react to such problems and help create acceptable solutions to them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration and communication with distributed teams in different geographical regions. It has helped us work more closely together and increased our output and efficiency.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Zoom is top of the line when it comes to video and audio quality. It's web and desktop application work well for all users, but it can get a little expensive and there are some security concerns.

What a time for Zoom!

  • April 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Zoom is having quite the moment right now! It is easy to use, everyone has heard of it, and you do not have to have a special account for access.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this time I have no dislikes. Zoom has solved many of issues we are all facing today while having to work from home and do remote learning for schools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zoom really has come to everyone's rescue. We are still able to have meetings, take depositions, and perform mediation. The schools are using Zoom for teachers to connect with their students and classmates to connect with each other.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Zoom really has become a household name. This product is something we use everyday.

An Indispensable Tool

  • April 13, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to continue our large meetings (100+) and have audience participation. The user interface is fairly intuitive. I have used Google Meet and Microsoft Teams but have found their UI has a bit of a learning curve. Zoom does an excellent job laying things out in a way that makes it decipherable even when you don't know what to do.

I love the Whiteboard feature. I use an editing tablet to draw illustrations for participants.
What do you dislike about the product?
I cannot think of anything that I dislike about Zoom. There could be improvements such as allowing hosts and co-hosts to participate in polls, sharing computer audio to Breakout Rooms, prioritizing participants with active video w/o removing other participants from the screen, and identifying the creator of annotations when the screen is being shared.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a large meeting (100+) twice a week and smaller meetings (10+) throughout the week. We have been able to maintain our schedule without missing a beat and without losing participation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get acquainted with all of the options as administrator. For a more seamless and fluid experience we find that having an administrator and an assistant works best.
