Used in cybersecurity to block traffic when it exceeds the threshold value
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature of DataDome is the traffic analysis. Suppose any customer website has a 1,000 threshold value per minute. If the traffic exceeds the threshold value, we can block that traffic.
What needs improvement?
The solution catches and perfectly blocks traffic from malicious IPs. DataDome does not catch legitimate IPs during traffic analysis, even when the traffic exceeds the threshold value.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using DataDome for the last one year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I didn't see any bugs in DataDome. However, the solution sometimes does not catch malicious traffic.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
More than 100 people are using the solution in our organization.
How are customer service and support?
I contacted the DataDome team and raised my concerns. They said that the issue was related to some rule creation and that they would work on it and update us.
What other advice do I have?
Using the solution depends on your purpose. DataDome is a good tool for analyzing traffic in a SOC project. It is easy for a new user to learn to use the solution for the first time.
Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

What do you like best about the product?
Datadome offers strong protection against bots and scripted attacks, with a set-it-and-forget-it approach that optimizes detection rules automaticlaly.
It's also easy to integrate and configure, with official libraries for almost any back-end framework.
The dashboard offers lots of insight into what traffic is hitting your domain, and offers a lot of customizability in terms of protection, including which captcha providers you want to use, custom rulesets, etc.
They also have great customer support; help is readily available from their technical specialists if you run into issues.
It's also easy to integrate and configure, with official libraries for almost any back-end framework.

They also have great customer support; help is readily available from their technical specialists if you run into issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our site receives a lot of irregular traffic, with spikes and troughs in user numbers. However, Datadome doesn't really allow for this type of traffic in their pricing model, relying on a set number of requests/month and then charging overages, rather than offering a more flexible pay-as-you-consume model.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Datadome is stopping huge numbers of bots from scraping our site and attempting to steal user accounts by brute-forcing passwords.
Great protection and even better support!
What do you like best about the product?
When signing on with new partners, your first concern is will I need a ressource to now manage this platform and it has not been the case. The support from datadome has been great. You get quick responses and team is ver knowledgeable. We've also encountered a lot less fraud which was the reason we partnered with datadome.
What do you dislike about the product?
We initially had issues with the captcha coming up and blocking employees from doing their work, but it has no longer been a problem recently.

Effective and Low-Overhead Bot Protection
What do you like best about the product?
DataDome has proved to be an effective bot protection service for web services. Implementation was easy and the ability for us to customize rules to tune the system has provided us very few false positives.
The control panel provides good customization options and ability to enable or disable endpoints as needed.

Would be nice to be able to have multiple directives in the server-side configuration for exclusions, rather than one regex to rule them all.

Effective Anti-Bot Protection with Datadome
What do you like best about the product?
1. Datadome's models are effective and able to accurately identify the bots. In the meaning time, the real user's experience is not impacted too much.
2. The integration flow is smooth. they have provided thorough documentations; and when there is any question, there is always someone we could look for to troubleshoot.
3. excellent support. whenever we report any live issue, the reply is prompt and helpful. they could also add customised rules based on our use case.

What do you dislike about the product?
Although Datadome has proven effective in combating bot activity, hope that it could continue improving on the model, because the hackers are improving on their scripts as well.

It has provided accurate bot detection functions, benefiting me in the sense that i could provide more secure service and better user experience.
Set it and Forget it Bot Detection
What do you like best about the product?
We love how easy it has been to set and forget bot detection with DataDome. After initial implementation we have never had to worry about data being infiltrated with bots and we can be certain that we are surfacing appropriate information to the right customers. We haven’t needed to make any adjustments since the initial implementation and it has just worked!

We currently haven't experience anything we don't like!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to use bot detection in front of our coupons API to prevent coupon harvesting. Before DataDome, any bot could load up a page or even directly hit the API and gain access to a dynamic coupon. Now with DataDome we can be certain that we are only displaying coupons to real humans.

If you are looking for a secure, GDPR compliant, and UX friendly CATPCHA, DataDome is the tool every company should have!

The SaaS platform where you can find all the metrics and setup the endpoints is easy to use.
The positive aspect of DataDome is when it is setup, you can used it with an audit mode to confirm its benefits, without impacting your existing applications. And when you are ready, you just have to toggle a button to activate the blocking mode. CATPCHA is combined with others antibot solution like DeviceCheck, improving User Experience (it's transparent) while adding security for your website
DataDome is relatively easy to setup : you can install it from higher level architecture (CDN, proxy) to lower level (Server, code). You just need to implement client side a JS tag.

DataDome is working with tenant. If you need to create a lots of tenant to secure a large IS park, the switching between each tenant could be a mess. DataDome needs to improve on this. the RBAC is also dependant on each tenant. A mutualized configuration panel could be very interesting, which we can configure users role and access to tenant by this single page.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DataDome is able to detect malicious and bad bot trafic, even the sneakiest and trickiest one. It protects against lots of attack vector like credential stuffing, bruteforcing, web scrapping... While adding a better experience for our customer because it has been designed to bee user friendly and friction free.
