What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are getting attacked every month and Datadome protect us from fraud

What do you dislike about the product?
Prices tend to increase significantly over the years, especially on excess monthly quote, overages charges.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our platform was experiencing web scraping and other automated attacks. Our former bot detection tool couldn’t keep up; the attackers were able to bypass it. After we switched to DataDome, our system performance stabilized and we found that UX improved, thanks to low latency and minimum false positives.
Powerful tool with great UX & support
What do you like best about the product?
Datadome is quickly setup, easy to learn and navigate from a users perspective and does a great job of detecting & keeping malicious traffic away from your application. On top their support team is very responsive and for us always helped to sort out issues (in the rare cases where we had some). To give you one example: At some point we made a change in our product that confused the ML models in Datadome and resulted in much more captchas shown to regular users. Back then tracking false-positive rates for captchas shown to our customers in Datadome was also a tedious excercise because it meant looking into Excel exports. Datadome worked with us on improving false-positive rates and later added better UI to track false-positive rates to make our lives easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
ML models are both amazing and sometimes pain, because they're very blackboxish. We had that experience at some point in the past, where the ML model changed behaviour and it wasn't really clear on our side why. In the end we managed to reconcile and even improve with the help of Datadome, but I think this is worth pointing out when you're start using an ML based model, there's a chance that this could happen to you as well.
Another very nitpicky thing that comes to mind: In some cases you might also not want to run all of your traffic through Datadome. If you need a flexible solution there that goes beyond URLs and regex, you need to run your own customized Datadome worker on Cloudflare. That you can do this is great, but I would have preferred that the Datadome integration works better with Cloudflare configuration rules for example.
Another very nitpicky thing that comes to mind: In some cases you might also not want to run all of your traffic through Datadome. We mostly started using Datadome to keep malicious bots & scrapers away from our platform. It does a good job at this and the behaviour of Datadome is also fairly easy to observe both in Datadome itself, but also in other log systems (via custom headers that Datadome sends).
Great service, great support, but not a "set it and forget it" solution
What do you like best about the product?
Stability of our infrastructure is much better. For instance, DataDome blocked a DDoS attack 2 days ago that meant no downtime so that I could better enjoy my daughter's birthday. When signing up, I did not realize the benefits of the Threat Research team, but having a researcher available to look specifically at our attacks has made a big difference. The customer service team (and the fact that they have a technical background) has been wonderful.
What do you dislike about the product?
DataDome is not completely a "set it and forget it" solution. When problematic traffic is brought to DataDome's attention, they handle it very well. However, unless their algorithms automatically catch the problematic traffic, it still needs to be brought to DataDome's attention for review. Proactive monitoring with human reviews of traffic still needs to be done independently of DataDome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Greatly minimizes vulnerability scanning, DoS, and general scraping. Also takes a deep look at scraping/spamming attacks that are targeted specifically at our sites.
Low effort integration and mitigates automated account creations and content scraping
What do you like best about the product?
What stands out about DataDome is its ability to efficiently address bot-related problems, allowing businesses to focus on value-adding tasks.
When Devex was under frequent bot attacks, DataDome provided a solution that was easy to integrate, worked right out of the box, and requires little maintenance. Furthermore, DataDome's solution has helped Devex regain confidence in our internal metrics, as it effectively eliminated automated account creations.
We appreciate how DataDome operates quietly in the background, giving us the peace of mind we were hoping for.

The pricing model does not provide a good fit for all businesses. In our case, we pay for five times the capacity we actually need, which is not cost-efficient.
Moreover, we received a number of complaints about repeated captchas and being blocked from internal users. I guess this is to be expected, given that many of those users are developers and testers, showing abnormal behavior. The reported false positive rate for captcha is below 0.01%, so we understand that our legitimate users and their experience with our platform aren't affected that much.
Whenever we experience legitimate users being blocked it's very easy to get in touch with DataDome support, and they are usually quick to further fine tune the threat model to avoid such false positives going forward.

DataDome is helping us combat two significant issues: the creation of fake accounts by bots and content scraping. Prior to implementing DataDome, we spent considerable time and resources trying to manage these issues in-house, diverting our attention away from core business tasks. Now, DataDome handles these issues efficiently, drastically reducing the number of fake accounts and protecting our content from scrapers. This has not only led to a more secure platform, but has also restored faith in our internal metrics, allowing us to refocus our efforts on tasks that directly contribute to our business value.
Ease of use and set-upA great, low-maintenance tool
What do you like best about the product?
DataDome was extremely easy to set up on our platform; from the first contact, the solution was up and running in less than a week. We were also very impressed with the onboarding experience and the level of customer service from day one. The DataDome team has always been extremely solution-oriented, hands on and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a level of monitoring you can expect to perform as a team to ensure everything is operating as expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a solution that could react much quicker than our manual approach. We have been impressed with DataDome’s real-time AI production. And because DataDome’s bot detection algorithms are doing their job in the background, our developers can focus on the things that are going to grow the business.
We feel secure with Datadome
What do you like best about the product?
We are happy to have the solution and services from Datadome. Our Ecom sites are secure, and we have stopped receiving the carding attack that we experienced in the past.

At this moment, I don't have anything that I dislike.

We are using it for Bot protection and handling the carding attack.
Hands-off DDoS protection
What do you like best about the product?
We like that DataDome mostly works in the background and blocks attacks without us having to do anything. And if we do need to reach out, we have a dedicated Slack channel for communicating with the support team, which is usually very responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have a lot of B2B customers that are using automated systems to access our website (too many to whitelist), and we’d like an easier way to identify those friendly bots.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were having regular DDoS attacks, which occasionally slowed down the website to the point of making it unavailable for real users. Since we implemented DataDome, we can mostly forget about bot traffic, and we don’t need to worry about attacks impacting the website performance for our customers.
Datadome has done an amazing job mitigating bot issues for our operation.

Their technology is very sophisticated and easy to analyze.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be helpful to be able to track users that are blocked by their IPv4 address when they are only providing us with IPv6.

The main problem Datadome is helping us mitigate is vulnerability scanning and IVT mitigation.

It allows us to identify and block specific bad bots, to identify and whitelist partners (good/verified bots), and it gives us a way to reduce our exposure to scraping, credential stuffing, vulnerability scanners, etc, while maintaining a low false positive rate.

What do you dislike about the product?
Datadome does a good job of distinguishing humans from bots, but may be less mature when it comes to identifying legitimate bots that might be partners or customers. This is not so much a criticism as a caution: before you can use the service to block bad traffic, you need to be able to identify and categorize all of your good bot traffic.
