Localization expert from the memsource days
What do you like best about the product?
For localization tasks, Phrase is an absolute winner. It strikes the perfect balance between offering a robust set of features and being incredibly user-friendly. Onboarding new team members is a breeze because the interface is clean and intuitive. Plus, Phrase seamlessly integrates with design tools like Figma, saving us tons of time. Their customer support is also top-notch. Whenever I've had a question, they've been incredibly helpful and responsive. The combination of ease of use and smooth integration makes Phrase my go-to platform for most localization projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
For most localization projects, Phrase is my go-to platform. However, if you need a highly customizable solution or have a very limited budget, it might be worth exploring other options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phrase is a game-changer for localization projects. Before, it was a juggling act: spreadsheets, separate translation tools, and endless emails with translators. Phrase brings everything under one roof, streamlining the workflow. No more error-prone copy-pasting between tools. Plus, machine translation tackles repetitive tasks, freeing me up for quality checks. Collaboration is a breeze too – everyone sees the latest content and leaves feedback directly within Phrase. In short, Phrase cuts through the chaos, saving me time, reducing errors, and keeping me frustration-free.
State-of-the-art Alternative to the Classic CAT Tools
What do you like best about the product?
- Cloud-based: This makes it extremely simple to switch between devices without having to worry about work files and resources. Works well with slower connection speeds as well, as long as the connection is stable.
- Performance: Phrase performs very well in most aspects, even with large projects. There are some limitations with batch tasks - however, I have found Phrase to perform better than most tools I have used in the past
- Intuitive project management: Managing project resources as well as participating linguists is very straightforward and just works without a huge hassle.
- Continuos development and improvement: This is my favorite thing about Phrase - they are constantly working on making it better. The classic CAT tools out there feel like they have been cluttered with mostly useless, highly specialized features for decades without addressing some of the major QoL issues that many people have been complaining about.
- Performance: Phrase performs very well in most aspects, even with large projects. There are some limitations with batch tasks - however, I have found Phrase to perform better than most tools I have used in the past

What do you dislike about the product?
I would appreciate if Phrase introduced compatibility with Trados project packages - when receiving one of those, which still happens frequently, using Phrase is not an efficient option.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- No need for high-end hardware - you can easily work on the go without being afraid of your laptop blowing up from the massive CPU load of e.g. Trados. Another factor this helps with is battery run time.

Best online CAT Tool out there
What do you like best about the product?
Much faster and easier to use than any other online CAT Tool
What do you dislike about the product?
For me, I really miss the analysis function within the tool. You can only see numbers in the bottom left corner, but you can't create your own analysis to track your weighted progress.
The other important thing is QA. I recently did a translation where QA took nearly 2 hours because the system can only process and display a certain number of lines at a time, and in addition, dealing with inconsistencies is very difficult.

Compared to offline platforms, it doesn't add anything extra, but it doesn't make life more difficult than competing online platforms such as XTM.

The commands are easy to access and function well. The verifier is very good!

I wish there was a better translation suggestion feature like in Trados, i.e. where any fragments are suggested.

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use and manage projects. Projects are very easy to implement, they have great costumer support. I use it regularly (weekly) with students and it can be easily integrated with word documents. I also use multiple features that allow us to keep the projects organized and separated.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is very easy to use and to implement. Perhaps it would be great if it integrated educational tools so that it could be more easily used in higher education settings for teaching and learning.

Phrase is easing our translation process with the help of its AI tools.
A user-friendly localization platform
What do you like best about the product?
I have worked with Phrase (or more precisely, Memsource, before being acquired by Phrase) sicne 2016. Memsource/Phrase has always been one of my favorite localization solutions as a translator. It doesn't show ridiculous bugs, it's RTL-friendly to a good extent, and it's got a good source text preview. It's easy to work with it and easier to learn it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not easy to use it with smartphones. It used to have a Android version (which I really liked). And it was better if it used two displays better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a localization management tool. As a translator, it helps me contribute to localization projects.
Helps boosting working speed and quality
What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive, clean design & very user-friendly functions. (And also the cat icon.)

Quality assessment has never been so easy to handle than within Phrase
What do you like best about the product?
In managing quality assessments within Phrase, versatility is key. Through the diverse profiles available, quality specialists can tailor assessments to fit the unique needs of language service providers. These profiles not only align with the DQF-MQM model but also empower specialists to craft customized evaluation frameworks. By doing so, they gain insights into the strengths and weaknesses of language services. This flexibility ensures that assessments are not only standardized but also finely tuned to the nuances of each provider's offerings. In this way, Phrase enables a dynamic approach to quality management, fostering continuous improvement within the language service ecosystem.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Phrase offers flexibility in customizing assessments, one drawback is the limitation on the independence of additional LQA steps within the same project. Currently, quality specialists inherit previously marked issues, hindering their ability to conduct truly independent evaluations. However, this drawback can be swiftly corrected. Implementing a feature that allows specialists to conduct new, independent LQA steps without inheriting past assessments would greatly enhance the platform's utility. This would enable specialists to build upon previous results and provide fresh evaluations for comparison purposes, akin to a quality consolidation auditing process. Such a feature would significantly elevate the platform's capabilities in facilitating comprehensive and unbiased quality assessments.

Phrase offers robust problem-solving capabilities for quality specialists and managers by automating the prolonged, fatiguing manual steps inherent in traditional language quality management routines, particularly in scorecard handling and data analysis. Through its advanced features, Phrase streamlines these processes, significantly reducing the time and effort required for quality assessments. By automating scorecard handling, specialists can easily track and manage evaluations, ensuring consistency and accuracy across projects. Moreover, Phrase's data analysis tools simplify the arduous task of crossing and analyzing large volumes of data, enabling managers to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement swiftly. This automation not only increases efficiency but also enhances the effectiveness of quality management, allowing teams to focus on strategic decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
Excellent support for translation projects
What do you like best about the product?
The platform runs smoothly without technical issues and is accessible from anywhere in the world. I can easily manage my translations and track progress at any time, which makes my work more efficient and transparent.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is that support is available only via email and not in real time. Considering the cost of the platform, I would expect faster and more direct assistance, such as live chat.

Phrase allows me to easily create and maintain translation memories, store them securely online for each client, and reuse them across different projects. This not only saves time but also reduces costs and ensures greater consistency in translations.
