Great overall but Need quick non-file-upload translation & text recognition
What do you like best about the product?
Light load on PC. Very easy-to-understand UI. Good functions & services, including built-in MT. Great & timely customer service.
What do you dislike about the product?
Always have to upload files - it'd be great if you could directly type in source texts for quick translation. It'd be even more wonderful if Phrase could recognise texts from PDF or image files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a translator, it saves me lots of time and effort building my own term/phrase base. No need to look up/search past translation works for reference. The word/character count function is particularly useful, especially for translating Excel or PowerPoint files, as I charge my clients based on word/character counts and it saves lots of time to create invoices.
Effortless and Efficient for Translators
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how Phrase Localization Platform significantly enhances my efficiency in handling translation tasks, especially when dealing with very long documents in a limited timeframe. The platform's translation memory feature is incredibly beneficial, allowing me to avoid redundant searches by remembering previously used terms, thus saving time and ensuring precision in my work. I love the layout and user-friendly functionalities of the platform, which make navigating and utilizing its features intuitive and seamless. The ease with which I can store and retrieve my previous jobs by using savable names for memories further adds to its user-friendliness. The initial setup was straightforward, requiring just a simple registration process, which I found very convenient. Moreover, despite its considerable cost, the value provided by the features and how well it serves my translating needs makes it worth every penny.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it disappointing that the automatic translation feature, which used to be free, is now a paid service.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use the Phrase Localization Platform to save time and enhance accuracy in translating long documents with its helpful translation memory feature.
Efficient CAT Tool with Great Context Features, But Limited Format Support
What do you like best about the product?
A streamlined CAT tool that takes into consideration character constraints and context.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some file formats are not being supported
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Doing away with the lack of context by inserting a preview function. Easy to integrate several file formats into one project at a time.
Phrase is pretty convenient and works well.
What do you like best about the product?
The AI translation tool is pretty good, i enjoy doing translations quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it does not recognise the terms i have saved, or keeps translating something in the wrong way after i have corrected it many times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is making the work flow smoother and quicker, and is a good tool for managing translation information.
Very good web-based TMS
What do you like best about the product?
I like the load times, the simple user interface, the connection with Plunet. I use it everyday at work. Never had to reach out to support for any issues, I could find the info I needed online.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the fact of not being able to import bilingual files back into Phrase, which is possible in other tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Assignment of licenses to linguists. Not having to download a desktop app or log into a server.
Makes localization smoother and more manageable
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how easy it is to organize and track translation projects in Phrase. The UI is clean, and it’s simple to onboard new team members. The integrations with tools like GitHub and Figma save a lot of time, and the translation memory and term base features help keep things consistent across languages.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform can feel a bit overwhelming at first, especially if you're new to CAT tools. Some of the advanced features take time to learn, and the UI can lag a little when handling large files. But once you're familiar with it, those issues don’t really get in the way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phrase helps solve a lot of the common challenges in localization, like managing multiple languages, keeping translations consistent, and coordinating between internal teams and external vendors. Before using Phrase, we had to rely on spreadsheets and manual updates, which often led to delays and version mismatches. Now, everything is centralized, and we can track progress in real time. It’s also easier to maintain quality with built-in tools like translation memory and term bases. Overall, it’s made our workflow more efficient and less error-prone.
Useful for terminology consistency
What do you like best about the product?
One is the "read" and "write" functions of the translation memory. The second is the comment feature. The third is the QA check system.
What do you dislike about the product?
The part where translation memory from the TMS cannot be reused in Strings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When using Strings, the translation memory and term base were not displayed in the window, but the role status was set to "Project Manager" instead of "Admin". It was resolved because I was advised via email to double-check.
Phrase for product localisation
What do you like best about the product?
Phrase offers a very intuitive user interface that makes onboarding fast and effortless. Its integrations with JIRA and Slack streamline communication, and the ability to collaborate with multiple users on the same project is invaluable for efficient localisation workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, the platform presents too many options and buttons, which can feel overwhelming and slightly distracting when navigating the interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Phrase for product localisation. It is a very helpful tool, and allows numerous localisation specialists who have expertise in different languages to work in parallel.
Thorough Editing with Phrase
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Phrase for MTPE and Editing procedures on translation company accounts. By having to click every sentence, it helps go over thoroughly when performing proofreading.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are too many unnecessary checkpoints on QC. For example, there are many instances the ending punctuation differ into other languages. These have to be checked every time, and there are too many redundant checkpoints when performing QC.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it as a vendor for translation companies who has contract with Phrase.
Streamlined Localization with Smart Automation and Intuitive Design
What do you like best about the product?
Phrase has become a cornerstone of our localization workflow. Its intuitive interface, powerful CAT tools, and seamless integration with platforms like GitHub and Figma make it easy to manage complex projects across time zones. I especially appreciate the Phrase Orchestrator for building no-code workflows—it’s a game-changer for automating repetitive tasks.
The translation memory and machine translation suggestions (via Phrase Language AI) save time without compromising quality. Plus, the ability to train custom MT engines adds a layer of control that’s rare in other platforms.
Phrase doesn’t just support localization—it empowers it. From developer-friendly string management to insightful analytics, it’s built for scale and precision.

What do you dislike about the product?
One key feature I miss is the ability to work with multiple source languages in a single project. For teams handling regional variations or pivot translations, this limitation adds unnecessary workaround steps. Additionally, when working with SRT files in the editor, I’d love to see a more media-aware layout—ideally with three distinct columns: timestamp, source, and target. A preview pane with in-line video playback (similar to Wordbee’s segment-based video feature) would be a game-changer for subtitle accuracy and context.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phrase Language AI and customizable MT engines allow us to scale efficiently while maintaining brand voice and terminology. The analytics dashboard gives us visibility into cost, quality, and speed—critical for continuous improvement.
