CAT tools made simple and easy
What do you like best about the product?
It's intuitive and has the features I need: no more, no less. Simplicity is a strength: some CAT tools become overwhelming due to the number of bells and whistles they come with, many of which you don't use but somehow end up being the source of technical problems. Translating is hard enough sometimes - I don't want tools that require a degree in IT or to have watched 30 hours in webinars just to be able to do my job, not software that throws a fit right before a deadline.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, the only problem I have encountered is the TB gets confused at times and will highlight as TB term a word that is only partially similar. It's slightly annoying because it causes false QA flags, but it's not a deal breaker.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps keep consistency across different translators and related projects - some of which were done months or years ago. It also helps a lot with internal consistency: checking my own work (what exact wording did I use for this 10000 words ago?) is extremely easy.
User friendly and very easy to get used to when you are familiar with CAT tools.
What do you like best about the product?
The QC option works very well and it is possible to filter the issues so the overview shows similar issues together.
What do you dislike about the product?
The first setup is always a bit uneasy because you want to use shortcuts of other CAT tools you are familiar with. But in fact there is nothing I dislike. I only accept to write about positive experiences.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I believe that Phrase is solving workflow problems that often occur with the use of different CAT tools in different versions. All the texts are in one place and QC and submitting is very clear.

What do you like best about the product?
Phrase TMS is an excellent tool for me as a translator, receiving jobs from clients.
In the job overview, I can see which jobs are new, started on, or completed.
The editing view, where I add my translations, is also very nice. When I have a phrase that is very similar to an old one, Phrase gives me the translation of the older, similar phrase and shows me exactly where the two phrases differ.
It's also easy to work with Term Banks and add terms when needed.

What do you dislike about the product?
If there is something to complain about, then it's the fact that Phrase doesn't necessarily recognize conjugated forms of terms.
If I am supposed to use a term, and I actually use it, but in a conjugated form to fit Swedish grammar, Phrase will complain that I haven't used the term.

One thing that I like is that when a word is in the Term Bank, I don't need to type the entire word. If I just start with the first letter, it will suggest for me to type the term by a shortcut.
A big problem when you work as a translator is that you need to type so much, so the less I actually need to type, the better.

What do you like best about the product?
The National University of Ostroh Academy (Ukraine) has been cooperating with Phrase TMS (former Memsource) for about 6 years witnessing the growth and improvement of the platform as well as the academic initiative of its team. Using the Academic edition, we particularly appreciate the flexibility demonstrated by the Phrase Academic Team in terms of providing our students with a “special license kit” adopting the number of users according to ever-growing number of students of our university.
Phrase Translate (Machine Translation) is the tool students love the most, hence it helps them to focus on the technical aspects of using the platform due to the high quality of translated segments.

What do you dislike about the product?
In an educational environment we model business processes instead of having real ones, That is why we experience little use of Job section. However, it might be very useful in real working settings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives students the possibility to observe and practice the "management side" of modern translation process workflow.
PRACTICAL AND RELIABLE TOOL
What do you like best about the product?
Phrase TMS is very intuitive and its work memory is excellent. It is fast to save our work, not necessary to use many commands. If I compare with other tools available in the market I would say Phrase TMS is my favorite because is practical, reliable, and easier to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing negative I can say about it, I think it is excellent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phrase TMS saves a lot of time, because it is much faster to work with repetitions and fuzzies, so I can be a more productive translator, having a better performance and saving my fingers from typing the same sentences over and over again.

I like the simplicity of Phrase and its design, but also the auto-save of the files.

If you use the internet version, sometimes there are loading or saving errors, which should be corrected.

It helps me with the fragmentation of my translations and all the data concerning translations. It's easier and quicker to translate.
A great online CAT tool
What do you like best about the product?
Very flexible in import/export features and support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Big projects with lots of segments and text will make my browser and laptop so laggy. Or maybe my laptop is not strong enough.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can handle translation projects on many types of devices, from PC to laptop, even Macbook and smartphones.

TMS is a very intuitive platform with unique features that provide the user with tools to realize each job quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Assigning tasks manually can be pretty overwhelming sometimes. The platform takes a long time to process each input.

The platform can handle large projects and allows them to be executed by multiple translators.
Extremely helpful, time-saving tool
What do you like best about the product?
The translation memory is, in general, very accurate, which helps reduce correction and actual translation times. It has become a key tool for our work team, as it allows us to correctly translate and deliver assignments more expediently than before.
What do you dislike about the product?
The machine will sometimes pre-translate the same acronym differently across the document, but I understand that is to be expected from an AI-generated translation document.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Longer documents can be done faster and more efficiently, with better display options to better see segments, phrases and terms. This allows more time to read more thoroughly and improve on the final product.
