Great copy management tool to automate your processes

  • May 05, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Over-the-air copy key values change to experiment with the texts
- Single depository of all the copy
- In-context editor to allow you to change the copy while browsing the product
- Screenshots attached to each key + description to help translators and UX writers to come up with the best copy
- Jobs that could be placed for UX writers/translators with deadlines. You could place comments and discuss the options inside the product
- Auto-suggestions of the translations used for similar terms in other parts of the products + dictionary
- Branch logic – you need to create separate branches to merge changes. You could review all the changes before merging. Still, you could look up the current translations in the current master branch
What do you dislike about the product?
- Figma plugin to push the screenshots to the copy keys doesn't work well – our designers have to attach screenshots for new copy keys manually
- Jobs are deleted straight after merging the branch in which they are created. Why could we see which jobs we finished?
- They have only integration with Jira Cloud and we use Jira Server – so couldn't take advantage of this. Though we're moving to Jira Cloud so we will soon try it
- The new UI of the copy change is inconsistent with the rest of their portal and seemed less intuitive so took time to get used to
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Managing all the copy of our product – adding new keys, translating them, iterating on the existing copy
- Changing the copy without a need to use developers and in real-time
- Managing the requests to the translators/UX writers
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check the tool during your trial and try the plugin

What do you like best about the product?
It's super simple to send translations to everyone in my team. The system is pretty self-explanatory even without a training session.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, we create translations and they don't save.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am easily managing 7 languages

A well-designed intuitive CAT tool for freelancers

  • March 29, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Memsource Desktop interface is quick to learn, visually clear and easy to use. The Help documentation is good - clear and full - and solves difficulties when I encounter them. And the import/export to Word function works well, which is just as well as I use it constantly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Memsource hadn't disabled machine translation for the freelance Personal Edition. I was happy to pay for my MT characters. It means basically that Memsource has disinvested in its occasional freelancers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using a CAT tool of course makes your translation process more professional by managing it. That's really valuable.

Streamlined and Simple

  • March 24, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Memsource is so easy to use and it even has an app so I can work from anywhere! It's intuitive so you don't have to study a guide to know how to do simple tasks. I very much enjoy using Memsource.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I'd change about Memsource is 1) Allowing images so I can compare the original comics panels with the segments and check for congruity in one tab. 2) When viewing assignments, I'd like if each one had it's own grouping with a drop down arrow to expand and see all the episodes each assignment contains. It can get cluttered with all the episodes in a single long list.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The benefits of Memsource as opposed to other programs is it isn't bulky with too many complicated functions, yet still has what I need. The Term base is flexible and quick to learn.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use for any new user and good MT engine outputs. Support material is easy to find and understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
The QA process can sometimes be quite slow, but that is to be expected in some files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We recently managed to resolve a difficult project thanks to Memsource Translate, enabling us to meet a new client's expectations.

Best solution for multi-platform localization

  • March 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Be able to update our apps strings in one place and get them ready after every build
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to autofill all the languages with the default localization, currently, this is a paid feature and I understand it but maybe could be a free feature
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a financial app on iOS and Android and thanks to Phrase we only have to change the strings in the platform to get them ready on all platforms

A Brief MemSource Review

  • March 15, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Memsource has an amazing support team. No matter what your issue is, they contact you with the solution as soon as possible. Besides, it has a fairly easy to navigate interface that doesn't make the user feel lost.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has some room for improvement such as creating TM, editor features and saving to the server can be cumbersome. But since it is a cloud-based CAT tool it is not fair to compare it to the other installable software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Memsource for small localization projects as well as translator training programs. It is a handy CAT tool to get to know the fundamental features of a CAT tool in general.

A super convenient way to translate

  • March 11, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I loved how intuitive it is to use, especially for linguists. I also loved the fact that you can have Machine Translation pre-translate everything beforehand. The layout was also a big plus, since it allows me to see both the source and target texts.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a project manager, it's a bit difficult to use. There are so many options and ways to automate the whole translating system that you need to take an extra course to learn how to do so.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team works with at least 7 languages so the fact that each of us gets to see only our main language is very helpful. I'm in charge of Spanish and French translations, so I don't get to see other languages "contaminate" my workbench. Translating is now way faster and more efficient thanks to Memsource, even though getting used to the program took us all a bit of time to get used to.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend completing the Memsource Certified User course. It makes everything easier to understand and it allows you to take full advantage of Memsource's options.

User-friendly and intuitive platform

  • March 08, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I find the whole structure very useful, with the context section giving valuable information and the comment section allowing translators to communicate with PMs and have a look at the concerns raised by other linguists as well. The suggestions are very clear, and I also like the quick verification process. Working on so effective a tool is such a relief for a translator!
What do you dislike about the product?
There's just one thing that, in my opinion, and based on my experience, could be improved, that is how to search phrases or single words in the translation memory. It would be good to have a specific section, next to the suggestions one, where to rapidly find previous occurrences of a particular word, instead of having to use the search function with the magnifying glass on the left corner, that forces us to open a new tab.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At the moment, I have no problems with the tool. Obviously, the benefits are improved capacity per hour and a satisfying user experience with no stress and useless waste of time.

What do you like best about the product?
Memsource is east to use, yet powerful translation tools for both individual and team translation projects. The included PM tools are also useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Compared to more expensive and complicated translation software, Memsource lacks some tools, especially in term management projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Translation tasks, especially in team projects. I also teach and train translation technology courses. Memsource is excellent tool for learning CAT-skills.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good tool for translation projects and basic project management.
