Memsource is the most flexible CAT tool in the market
What do you like best about the product?
Flexible configuration, perfect for projects with multiple participants, great integration with Plunet, easy-to-read analysis, free online platform for freelancers.
What do you dislike about the product?
The TM management could be improved; issues with popping HTML tags in old / imported translation memories, the TB management suite is not as friendly as the rest.
It would be great to have a way to pretranslate the repeated segments (as in Studio).

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Long projects with short deadlines really benefit from Memsource's ability to share the real-time work of all the freelancers involved, so that everyone can benefit from the work of their colleagues.
I also love being able to add up to 10 TMs (and I would like even more).

Phrase is exactly the tool we needed.
What do you like best about the product?
Our team loves the collaboration. Finally, copywriters, designers and engineers can work together and own the quality of our content and localization as a group. Our designers love the integration with Figma. Phrase has really sped up our process. After trialing Phrase at ZAVA for a short time in one team other teams have been asking for the tool to be rolled out across the company
What do you dislike about the product?
Minor gripes with the tool have been:
- The Figma plugin can be slow at times and not as quick to set up with existing files as initially thought
- Uploading images to Phrase from Figma is great, but seems to cause the plugin to crash after 2 or 3 uploads, requiring you to log in again.
These are very small gripes in the total experience and our team would still fully recommend Phrase for managing and localising content and cross -functional collaboration.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previously we were maintaining the localisation for our app in a Google Sheet. We never knew if the keys were up to date. it was hard to assign updates to a specific person and track the progress. Content editors had no context for the keys, e.g. where in the flow of the app the content would appear and under which circumstances. Phrase solve all of these problems for us
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Phrase is hard to beat for managing translations and content locaisation.
This will be my third time connecting Phrase with a software firm, I couldn't recommend more highly.
What do you like best about the product?
It gives us peace of mind that the content team can own the content and translations in full. There are no more errors when teams copy and paste over spreadsheets, reducing the time taken but also the number of errors we have.
It allows our QA to focus on functionality, not spelling mistakes as we have confidence in the content. Same for design, the figma integrations work really well. Github PR sync is essential and really boosts our productivity.

Why Memsource is my preferred choice for teaching and translating
What do you like best about the product?
Memsource is easy to use and has a wide variety of useful functions and tools to help manage translation projects. It is also popular among my students for being user-friendly and intuitive. One of the best parts about using Memsource is that their team is always very helpful and prompt when assisting! They are also continually making improvements to the system so there are often new functions that further help us increase our productivity.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, really. I'm a happy user of Memsource.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Memsource for both teaching and translating. Through Memsource, my students successfully learn how to use a CAT tool and therefore pick up a very useful skill!
Solid Cloud CAT Tool for Beginners
What do you like best about the product?
I have been teaching CAT tools for 10 years and cloud integration has been a game-changer. We use Memsource in a classroom environment to simulate the actual translation process and it has been super easy to set up and get to the actual translation work with several tweaks. It is easy to learn and relatively easy to master. Great introductory tool for students and freelancers who are hesitant to try out CAT tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
It lacks some of the bells and whistles that heavy-weight desktop CAT tools have, but its reliability and near-perfect cloud integration make up for that. I wish it had more tools to split and assign texts, yet I cannot say it is an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primarily, we use it for education and several of my friends (who are freelancers) use it with various cloud projects. The main benefit was tracking the project and term coordination.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a freelancer or a student looking for an easy-to-use and reliable cloud CAT tool, do not hesitate to pick memsource
Set and forget. It just works.
What do you like best about the product?
I really like that the program works via web browser. It allows me to work on any computer and be assured that updates won't spoil what's already there.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like the TM content to be in pre-translation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem it solved was the previous slowness to get consistency in terms of terminology. The benefit is this: speed and consistency.
Helps streamline the translation process
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to streamline the translation process has been a huge asset to the company I work for. The use of translation memory helps to cut down on linguist fees. The interface is very user-friendly and when any questions arise, Phrase support is very helpful. Phrase was easy to implement into our daily work and is easy to use. We use the program daily and it is very effective and time saving.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not anything specific that we dislike. But a recommendation we have is it would be nice to have the ability to control information flow between task resources who are working on a job together.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are saving a tremendous amount of design time by using Phrase. Using an IDML file as our source file has allowed our formatting time to drop drastically, which has cut our overall timelines significantly, making our customers very happy.
Best tool for teaching translation and CAT technologies
What do you like best about the product?
Incredibly user-friendly and no-hassle interface, very detailed and helpful wiki, easy integration with machine translation engines
What do you dislike about the product?
Initial user configuration is a bit long (as an academic instructor I need to register 40 new users each year), but that's the only drawback to me
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy follow-up of student work (always available online), easy collaboration thanks to a clear workflow, easy comparison. No unnecessary functions but plenty of possibilities
