Empowers Collaboration Across Teams, But Room for Refinement
What do you like best about the product?
It allowed us to move from a completely antiquated workflow for translation and term management to use a collaborative tool than many roles within the company can use. This also meant that we could get "non technical" people involved in the process, which allowed Product Management to better work together and keep the workload transparent. It is now a tool we use daily. It also took minimal time to set up and get started, which was why we tried it in the first place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Probably because of the complexity of what the tool can do, automate and configure finding your way into using the software comes with a bit of a learning curve. To pick out one example, when the list of keys (in Phrase Strings) on the right side of the screen is filtered, you don't easily see that which can lead to the user thinking a key is not there, when in fact it is just hidden from view. In general, a "decluttering" of the UI for what you need for daily use of the tool would be appreciated in all areas of the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have multiple translators contributing to the localization and previously had no tool for transparent collaboration. This has completely changed since we introduced Phrase.
Comprehensive Language Support, But Needs Memory Fixes
What do you like best about the product?
I love that the Phrase Localization Platform supports all languages, allowing me to localize UI strings into 50 different languages effectively. This feature greatly enhances the platform's versatility and scalability, making it incredibly valuable for projects requiring extensive linguistic coverage.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am frustrated that the Translation Memory in Phrase Localization Platform cannot be set to zero. There were segments added by mistake, and I am unable to revoke or remove them. This limitation makes it challenging to manage translations accurately and can lead to clutter or errors accumulating over time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use the Phrase Localization Platform to localize UI strings into 50 languages, ensuring broad language support. However, setting Translation Memory to zero isn't possible, leading to accidental segment additions that can't be revoked.

What do you like best about the product?
Setting up the project was relatively straightforward, and I found the user management features to be quite effective.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Absence of the desktop client for translation edit (CAT tool).
- Subscription word count limits counts also perfect matches
- Pretty expensive considering there is no desktop CAT tool included.
- Usage of customized XLIFF format makes it impossible to edit files in other CAT tools.

This is a straightforward TMS. It is easy to use and does exactly what I need without any unnecessary complications.
Effortless and Efficient for Translators
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how Phrase Localization Platform significantly enhances my efficiency in handling translation tasks, especially when dealing with very long documents in a limited timeframe. The platform's translation memory feature is incredibly beneficial, allowing me to avoid redundant searches by remembering previously used terms, thus saving time and ensuring precision in my work. I love the layout and user-friendly functionalities of the platform, which make navigating and utilizing its features intuitive and seamless. The ease with which I can store and retrieve my previous jobs by using savable names for memories further adds to its user-friendliness. The initial setup was straightforward, requiring just a simple registration process, which I found very convenient. Moreover, despite its considerable cost, the value provided by the features and how well it serves my translating needs makes it worth every penny.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it disappointing that the automatic translation feature, which used to be free, is now a paid service.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use the Phrase Localization Platform to save time and enhance accuracy in translating long documents with its helpful translation memory feature.
The best translation program I ever used, but...
What do you like best about the product?
I find Phrase TMS the most user friendly program I ever worked with. I have worked as a translator for over 25 years and there is no program coming even close.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to be able to by a license for a longer amount of time insteads of paying a subscription every year. Compairing with Trados the price of Phrase is ridiculous. The yearly fee is 360 Euros and I have been using Phrase for more than 10 years. Compare that with Trados for which I paid 1100 Euros without time limits.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phrase TMS is my main tool for helping me in my work as a professional translator.
Great Text Segmentation, But AI properties of little value for the Translator working in Finnish
What do you like best about the product?
The segmentation of texts. This has always been the most helpful feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
As I translate from several languages to Finnish, the AI properties that have made the product very much more expensive, do really not help much. The Finnish language is too complicated for AI to be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes the translation process faster and helps with some vocabulary.
Efficient CAT Tool with Great Context Features, But Limited Format Support
What do you like best about the product?
A streamlined CAT tool that takes into consideration character constraints and context.

Some file formats are not being supported

Doing away with the lack of context by inserting a preview function. Easy to integrate several file formats into one project at a time.
Clear Design and Easy Use, but Translation Tools Could Improve
What do you like best about the product?
I like the clarity of design, the ease of use, and the intuitive guided project and task creation. I especially appreciate the simplicity of the editor and how all the necessary functions are easy to find and use.

It's not a dislike, as such, but I do wish the translation memory and term base tools were more sophisticated and allowed for more metadata to be used.

How to process, distribute, and translate client materials quickly and easily.
Efficient and User-Friendly, but Needs More Flexibility for File Revisions
What do you like best about the product?
I find it very easy to use. I like its visual appearance, and it allows me to work efficiently. It is easy to find terms from databases and content from the translation memory. It is possible to perform general searches and replacements, and I can be sure that everything is saved. Of all the cloud-based translation tools, Phrase is the one I like using the most.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, it is necessary to go back and make changes to a completed file, especially when working with partial deliveries. I would like to have the option to reverse the action of completing a file in order to modify whatever needs to be modified. I understand that this has to do with assigned roles.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a translator and editor, it allows me to do my job efficiently, keep track of what has been translated, and manage my translation projects with ease.
Mostly positive experience
What do you like best about the product?
I mostly use web version of Phrase TMS. The best thing is UI, it is easier to use comparing to many other CATs.
