Makes i18n a simple task

What do you like best about the product?
I love the way we can handle multiple translations somewhere else - out of our application, and at the same time we can share with other people and stakeholders.
What do you dislike about the product?
At the beginning of the project we didn't think right how it would be the right way to name our keys. We used the name of the microservice in the key so we could differentiate between them but now we want to use keys across the many services we have and we don't want to because of the name. It's getting harder to manage them and we are starting to have duplicates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We decoupled the translation part of our concern and outsourced it to our stakeholders - they can do translations themselves.

What do you like best about the product?
Phrase is a feature-complete translation management system that is easy to use regardless of whether you're a translator, project manager, or developer.
In addition, their live support is amazing, they are always available to answer questions within minutes of us reaching out.
They also offer a well-documented API that we have used to create our own custom integrations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Support for multiple machine translation providers could be better, and the Jobs feature could also use some UI improvements.

What do you like best about the product?
It's CLI tool made implementing the service into our existing code base a breeze.
We switched from a proprietary, in house developed, translation infrastructure, which was hard to work with and involved a lot of people, to a tool that requires zero dev support, in just 4 days!
What do you dislike about the product?
It was kind of hard to find the documentation for the CLI tool, it's not reachable from the official documentation which only covers their API. And I had to research in git repos how to fine tune the CLI configuration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Completely externalise our translation process, to not involve any dev time.
Until the integration with Phrase we only supported 2 languages hard coded. Now we can support limitless number of languages.

Great developer experience, ready to use solution

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Phrase in 3 projects already in 3 different companies of different sizes (statups and bigger). My review will be more from a developer side.
Phrase is a ready to use solution with great API. I have not been using their standalone CLI, my teams always had customised implementation via API on PHP or Node stack. It is really easy to work with API. For the last implementation on Node I used phrase-js library which is official and written in Typescript, great!
From the bysiness side - company can really save time and effort adopting Phrase instead of creating custom solution. In my experience, at least here in Berlin, Phrase becoming a standard solution to use for translations. Still, some teams use custom processes for translations and it takes some effort to convince them to adopt Phrase.
For me the main selling points were API, great interface for translators, big variety of supported formats. Also Autotranslation feature is great for early adoption.
I recommend Phrase to any team of any size.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to share some points which I think could be improved.
* Autotranslation feature is not easy to find, it is located under the More menu and initially hidden. I would put it in the main translator interface, just as a checkbox or button, right under the translation input textarea. it is a pity that it is hard to find now for PM since it is a good selling point for a team to use Phrase.
* I would like information about what solution Autotranslate feature uses to be easily available. Does it use Google translate API or Deepl or custom model? It would be great if it uses Deepl or Google or if there was integration in Phrase to switch it on. In 2 projects I was writing these integrations with Google and Deepl from scratch. The task was to translate EN file automatically with translator API into other languages and upload to Phrase.
* Would be great if Phrase had these integrations ready to use, like user can connect Google or Deepl in his account settings and do a batch translation for all keys of the locale into another locale using chosen translator API. This is what I did manually 2 times already.
* I hope that ready to use API libraries will be supported for different platforms. I used phrase-js already and would be great to have phrase-php, etc. for all popular tech stacks.
* I would like Phrase to have different pricing model. If I'm not mixing anything, now there are different plans and usually, teams use PRO plan. But then there is only one Administrator user, only one set of credentials. And these credentials are used by all team members. Would be great if on PRO plan it was possible to create many users for each team member with different credentials and administrative rights. Not sure if it is possible, but this is how teams use Phrase account in my experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have answered this part already in previous fields. I can only add that with Phrase developers can have really nice translations process. For example, for development, a team can only add EN translations for keys and delegate the rest to PM or content team. Then, when translations are ready - just pull files via custom script using API or via Phrase CLI client and commit them for review. I used to write custom pull commands for php and node js stacks though.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just use it!

Memsource feels so NATURAL

What do you like best about the product?
I like user friendliness of Memsource and it's simplicity.
It feels very easy to learn Memsource when you start working in it.
It is great to see how easy is to connect various CMS to Memsource.
Also, it does not require super exceptional skills to use Machine Translation engines in Memsource.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the way quotations and costs calculations are handled.
I do also dislike the price for Team Edition as I think it is too high.
I do not like the fact that Memsource does not charge more flexibly per number of users, project managers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I do usually use Memsource for huge projects and CMS connectors.
The benefit is obvious: time and money due to automatization.

Approachable, intuitive and dependable!

What do you like best about the product?
I have been managing my team of translators through Memsource for around 4 years and we all value how straightforward and reliable it has been. All the key features we need are in the system and managing projects is never more complicated than it needs to be. The project setup options allow for direct customization and template creation, and the process is quick and easy to learn.

As everyone in the team needs to work on the same platform, occasionally there'll be someone who's just started working with us and has never used Memsource before. This has never been an issue as the interface can be picked up immediately by translators of all backgrounds.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are certain advanced features that some organizations or translators may need, which they may not find in Memsource. This does not apply to my experience as we've always found a workaround with the team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Memsource is a perfect solution for our translation management team to handle projects while giving every translator and reviewer a platform to work together seamlessly in an interface that is intuitive, reliable, and well suited to the projects that we are responsible for.

Additionally, there are many integration possibilities with other software that can surely benefit different organizations depending on their needs.

What do you like best about the product?
Phrase has a simple and easy to use interface. It was easy to setup and integrate it with our codebase. What made us impressed the most is their In-context editor. It's a great feature to be able to see how different locales will look like in our products. We've also had a great experience with customer service as they were very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see parallel uploads when using the push / pull functionality with the Phrase Client. Currently it is not a big deal, but when you're having 100s of files it could become a problem quite easily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it to translate our core products to enter different markets. It also allows us to keep our translations organised, and scale with our growth easily.

Intuitive and powerful!

What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Memsource at Traducilo for some years and we have seen the platform improve month after month. The interface is quite intuitive and getting new translators on board is very quick. Setting up new projects and TM, TB requires a couple of clics only. Whenever we have had doubts and contacted technical support, they replied quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Memsource has been including new features without further explanation. I would suggest them to send users brief explanations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We usually work with multilingual projects and found it would be useful to access several TM simultaneously. We have contacted technical support and they said they would be working on this. All our suggestions have always been welcomed.

Multifaceted and comprehensive translation tool with many advantages

What do you like best about the product?
- Very clear user interface
- All functions needed in connection with the translation workflow
- Very fast, courteous and knowledgeable support which is also included in the price
- With annual payment method very cheap compared to other tools
- Very good company advice when considering going to phrase.
- Machine translations by all common providers
- Fast and comprehensive API
- Complete and easily understandable documentation

In short, a very powerful tool to make the translation workflow of a company clear and effective. Our developers only need to press a few buttons to synchronize our keys on phrase, thanks to the Phrase API. Our product management can then create translation jobs for our translation agency. Compared to before, this is a huge relief!
What do you dislike about the product?
Due to the enormous amount of phrase, the function search is often a bit difficult. Otherwise, there is hardly anything to criticize.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At the company we used to have everything in separate XLIFF and PO files. After we created or changed keys, we had to generate all XLIFF and PO files within 8-10 minutes. This took us a lot of time and resources. We also had to export the PO files continuously by hand and send them to our translation agency. After they had translated the files, we had to manually input them again. Phrase now takes all this off our hands. This also relieves our translation agency of a lot of logistical work.

In addition, the autopilot translations (machine translations) give us a preliminary translation at any time, which we can enter directly live on our site without waiting for the translation agency.

Through the API interface we could also integrate Phrase directly into our website and thus directly into the development process of our developers.
