The best tool for your translation projects

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use - What I like most about Phrase is its user-friendly design. It's for localization professionals and newbies. Phrase makes it easy to work with. It's a simple platform, and the time it takes to learn how to use it is minimal..
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to access to reference files. Also, the number of features are limited - Example: if I want to copy all target translations (select all target segments only) to make an external verification (grammar/punctuation/spelling/etc...) outside the Phrase Platform, it's not possible!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The platform helped me save too much time, which in turn helped me work on several projects without losing the order.

What do you like best about the product?
Simple, intuitive navigation. Functions are not too many. All necessary functions are built in.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have encountered an issue with a revision in translated segments does not match a segment on the revision history pane.

Easy to use, no need to spend much time to learn how to use.

Easy-to-use platform, no installation required

What do you like best about the product?
As a LSP, the best feature of Phrase is that users do not need to download and install any kind of editor on their PC. There is no need to update old software. This helps avoid installation problems that may be caused by different OS versions, OS systems, or lack of IT skills, which makes new linguist integration quick and smooth. We have received reviews from linguists that the web editor UI is intuitive with streamlined functions, compared to other major CAT tool editors.
What do you dislike about the product?
When the create new project UI was revamped, it took a while for our PMs to get used to the new format. However the training videos for both linguists and PMs were very useful in catching up with the new UI.

The preview window, although helpful, is sometimes inaccurate and does not reflect the original document (e.g., highlighted text, colored text). Although it is noted that the preview is not 100% reliable, juming back and forth between the Phrase window and the source file can be a hassle, so an improvement in this function would be a big help in boosting translation efficiency.

Connection to the EU data center can be very slow at times. We have to wait a while for a PPT file to be uploaded to a new job. This happens in the evening (JST), so I assume this is due to server traffic starting in the CET time zone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phrase helps us control scheduling, assignment, and output quality of all our translation work. Before using Phrase, we used Excel for scheduling, e-mail for getting in touch with and assigning translators, and our own platform for assessiing translator quality. All this can now be controlled by accessing the Phrase Platform, and the progress is shared among our PMs with high transparency.

TMS with great overall performance and support

What do you like best about the product?
Phrase is an easy-to-use, all encompassing TMS, which is essentail for localization management. It covers most of the bases and helps my company manage our loc needs smoothly. I like the two-column interface and incopration of AI, TMs, and MT.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setup and setting management can be overhwleming and non-intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me to manage projects in one location, utilize analytics and manage my memories.

What do you like best about the product?
One of the best features of Phrase TMS, in my opinion, is that linguists do not need to have their own license. Especially now with the new pricing package and ilimited user licenses, this is something that really streamlines the onboarding process of new linguists for our company. I also really enjoy the technology advancements with integrated AI features, such as Phrase Custom AI, which allows us to deliver a lot more value to our clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
Phrase TMS lacks some of the more robust linguistic features that are found in some of the CAT tools that have been in the market for longer, such as memoQ and SDL Studio. The Phrase alignment tool, file importing tool and regex are subpar when comapred to the other tools.
My biggest pet peeve with Phrase is the lack of knowledge from the Sales team, especially now with the new AI capabilties. I've been promised lots of features that Phrase was not ready to deliver. I was incorrently charged for MTUs that I did not use. I waited in line for MONTHS for the Custom AI to become available for Portuguese when I was promised it would be available in January, then in March. I was told more than once that there were no hidden costs on the new pricing plan, but yet there were. It took me a lot of trial and error to implement Custom AI -- and in the beginning, the sales representative who sold the solution to us, was also unaware that the technology does not support locales.
The manuals and guides available are not complete enough and do not approach many use-case scenarios, and more often than not, getting someone to help resolve these implementation issues is a hassle.
While the support team responds promptly, they are not able to assist in more complicated issues.
One example: I filled out the form to order Custom AI 4 or 5 times at the end of 2023 and received no response from sales. Ultimately I issues a support ticket and was told "my emails were not reaching anyone". Once a sales perosn was assigned to my case, they were not very knowledgeable about the product. This person then left the company and my emails went unanswered AGAIN for several months. This is until a new sales person was assigned to my account not to resolve the issues I had emailed about, but to incorrectly charge me for additional MTU use when we had not reached our limit and they were being counted incorrectly. It has been very frustrating dealing with the Phrase team overall.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phrase has helped us implement a customized AI translation solution for one of our clients, which allowed us to regain business from this client when mega-agencies who have their own AI solution were trying to this deal to them. This has been great, though the solution came with a lot of sweat and tears from our end, as I explained in the previous comment. Communication and lack of knowledge from the sales team is a big, BIG issue.

What do you like best about the product?
Simple, practical, and efficient tool that I use for my apps, website, and transactional SMS and push notifications. The management of translations is very straightforward. It saves a lot of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacks the ability to duplicate multiple keys.

1. The ease of managing numerous wordings for multiple apps and websites on a single CMS, and 2. The accuracy of the automated translation.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, user-friendly. This is my tool of choice, and I use it very often. I did not need to ask for much outside help to understand how the tool works. The quality control feature is simple and easy to use. I particularly appreciate being able to add exceptions to repetitions. I dealt with customer service once, it was very efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
I regret not being able to choose the typography based on the language (angle quotes or quotation marks, straight or curly apostrophes...). Some translation software offers intuitive writing for numbers and automatically adds non-breaking spaces before punctuation marks that require them. These features would be very useful to me. I would also appreciate being able to sort the translation memory results by date, in order to have quick access to the most recent and therefore most relevant results. I regret that the quality control checkboxes now appear as a banner, as it makes me lose time when I want to select multiple options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The sentence allows easy and almost instantaneous access to translation memories, which greatly facilitates my work and allows me to do it quickly. It is also compatible with the dictation software I use, which is a significant advantage. The glossary is simple and easy to use, I greatly appreciate the intuitive writing of the terms listed there.

What do you like best about the product?
It is intuitive and easy to use. ""CAT" tool includes contextual visualizations, which is really helpful to save time. AI integrated makes translation much faster and you can train a domain-specific custom model. LQA scorecard allows an objective feedback to translators. I can easily manage projects, translate and review all types of files, and automate the end-to-end process.

I am really happy with this platform so far.
