Ideal solution for fast growing companies, scaling their marketing efforts globally

  • January 25, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The benifits of being able to store, share and distribute marketing assets is undisputed. I like the DIY template module best, it helps us scale like never before. we´re pushing out templates on a daily base, while seeing it use increase every day. we´re loking forward rolling it out for our partners to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The DIY template module is fairly new, so there is still some functionality and usability to fix. Never the less we allready see the effects of using it. And the Bynder team is fast in their response and fixing issues on the go.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storing marketing assest in one single location, sharing and distributing marketing assets within the company and with our valued partners. Scaling marketing creation througout the organisation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Plan some time for training of your staff, invite the Bynder implementation team over to work on the implementation along with your in-house team. Spend time on understanding roles, user rights and permissions before negotiating the contract and deciding on which user levels to include. Invest in training your creatives on how to build DIY templates, this will pay off in the end. Request Mike during the technical Implementation, ask Jaakko for help on the Templates, and we have really good experience with Jiska & Klaas as a project manager. Styleguide CMS is very limited and not user friendly, consider iframing your own in.

Good software, somewhat too feature-heavy for our taste

  • January 25, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We liked the ease of use and how easy assets could be tagged properly and found in the system. Also, the support was awesome, their customer success managers provided solutions for our problems and made some custom filters in the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was pricey for our company size and userbase, that's why we reverted to a simpler solution. There were many modules that we didn't use.

Also upload speed from our office in France was really slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing our global media assets to upload for our graphic design teams + access to these files by our 3rd parties (external).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you know what you want to do with your digital media assets.

Best CMS system I've used yet

  • January 17, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Is Bynder perfect? No. But compared to basecamp or an internal system, they are significantly better. Additionally, they are new enough that they may be willing to add certain features if you push hard enough. At least they would at the beginning of our contract.
What do you dislike about the product?
Playing off what I liked, Bynder is slow to respond to issues. And when you're entire Marketing creative department is working in the system—that's not really viable. Also, the one thing I miss about Basecamp is that you could see a list of your own actions, which was great for filling in timesheets. Our Bynder only shows a list of everyone's most recent actions. And if you have active PMs, that means it's all just basic job creation / steps.

Other items of note:
- The file previews are mediocre at best (download is always preferred)
- Comments system is a bit lacking, and comments often block the text they're referring to
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collecting all our assets in one place + providing a single place for stakeholders to review and provide feedback on marketing creative. Such a big improvement over using an internal server or working across emails. Plus, it saves all the comments for reference later!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
While you could implement it solely for reviewing files. I suggest an all-or-nothing approach. Use it for everything or don't use it at all.

Gather Content

  • January 06, 2018

What do you like best about the product?
Gather has been such an effective tool in our restaurant! I like that all of my other managers can have their own access and it makes communication easy between team members. It takes less time and less steps than any other catering system we have used and it's more effective.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I've had trouble with was the initial information transfer from my old system, but it could have been fault of the other program. We haven't had any other issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
great for both the FOH and BOH and it took maybe one training session to get the team on board. Clients that we book have really approved of having their own Event Portal, as well, and it makes them feel like they are more apart of the whole process than what we have experienced with other systems.

Become more impressed the bigger my requirements become

  • January 05, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I've used Gather for straightforward copy management, but am now building templates, managing many reviewers, etc. and am seeing another level of the tool that really helps me make sure content created is consistent with our content strategy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Genuinely - can't think of anything. But as our organisational needs grow, I'll deinitely be in touch!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing multiple stakeholder reviews, which was a nightmare for the writer using tracked changes. Stakeholders love it too - it's transparent, collaborative and more efficient for them - and us.

    Computer Software

Meets our current needs

  • January 04, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We moved from Dropbox to Bynder and really like the ability to now tag assets based on various criteria so that our sales force can filter/find assets more easily. We love the visibility and reporting into what our team is actually using. And the sales team really enjoys the ability to quickly create collections of assets to share with prospects and clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
The most relevant assets do not surface to the top, so now that we have 500+ assets, our sales team is having trouble quickly finding what they need.

Bynder is great for what it is (digital asset management). The next evolution for us will probably be something that is more focused on "just-in-time" delivery of assets within the CRM, which Bynder cannot do. But it is working well and much better than our old Dropbox approach.

Our implementation rep was not strong and we have an unfortunately poor roll-out with our sales team. We were able to remedy this on our own over time. We have also changed account managers several times in 2 years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Single source of truth for accurate / up-to-date marketing materials. Easier searching/filtering for assets. Easy sharing of collections of assets with those outside the company. Reporting into who is using the system and what assets are being used. All of these things together help our sales force better communicate with clients/prospects, and help marketing measure how well we are enabling our sales force, while maintaining brand consistency.
