Excellent all-purpose note tool
What do you like best about the product?
The smoothness of capturing/moving/highlighting text. The easy ability to organize text.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of universal tags/labels. Notion does have tags but only within databases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have to do a lot of writing, months ahead of time, on multiple subjects, and it's like a giant super notebook that allows me to keep things in order.
Flexible, Customizable, and Researcher-Friendly: A Powerful e-Lab Notebook with Room to Grow
What do you like best about the product?
Notion has become the central hub for managing my research workflow. As an electronic lab notebook (e-LN), it’s highly adaptable—I use linked databases to track experiments, literature reviews, project milestones, and protocols, all in one place. The ability to create custom views (calendar, timeline, Kanban) and tag entries by type or status allows me to visualize my work dynamically. It’s especially powerful when combined with versioned file storage, cross-platform access, and the integration of structured templates. Unlike rigid ELN platforms, Notion gives me the flexibility to build a system that aligns exactly with how I think and work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notion’s performance degrades when handling very large pages or embedded content-heavy databases. There’s also limited offline functionality, which can be disruptive in environments with unstable internet. While Notion excels at flexibility, it lacks native scientific features like experiment timers, chemical structure rendering, or protocol version control, which more specialized ELN platforms offer. Export options are also limited when it comes to generating clean, formatted lab reports or PDFs for compliance or archiving.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion solves the fragmentation problem in academic and lab work. Before, I relied on separate tools for note-taking, task tracking, protocol management, and project planning. Now, everything lives in one unified system. I’ve built a modular, searchable electronic lab notebook that allows me to track experiments by date, tag literature by topic, log progress across multiple projects, and centralize protocols—all cross-linked and version-controlled. This has improved my ability to plan experiments, retrieve information quickly, and maintain reproducibility and traceability in my research. It’s also significantly reduced administrative overhead and cognitive load.

Versatile and Intuitive, Yet Room for UX Improvements
What do you like best about the product?
I use Notion mainly for managing a knowledge database and have recently started using it for task management as well. I love how Notion is built like a brain, or at least like my brain, which makes organizing information intuitive and personalized. The high rotation of employees in my organization is a challenge, but the knowledge database feature ensures continuity and consistency over time. I also appreciate the availability of keyboard shortcuts, which streamline my workflow and make navigation quick and efficient. Additionally, I'm thrilled that Notion provides form services, which were a major reason for switching from Tally forms.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the desktop app to be quite slow on my computer, which has low RAM, causing performance issues. I also dislike that the full width view is not the default setting for pages, and there is no option to set it as the default for the entire organization, hindering customization. The learning curve is steep, and I'd appreciate a more user-friendly experience for first-time users, specifically by allowing shared default settings for an entire workspace. Additionally, I find that the image preview functionality is inadequate, as it takes a considerable amount of time for images to load. Moreover, the integrations appear nebulous and are challenging to utilize effectively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion to manage a knowledge database, ensuring continuity amidst high employee turnover. It organizes tasks efficiently, mimicking my thought process, though initial setup is ongoing with some formula headaches.
Notion for an early days start up
What do you like best about the product?
I like how many options there are for project management. It seems to have combined all the main project management apps in one place and integrates very well with current workflows. It has been great for managing the company and for planning.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are so many options which is great, but there also seems to be a very steep learning curve and a lot that you need to know how to do to be able to use 100% of it's potential. It would be great if there is better training/intro in the beginning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping me keep all our records and planning in one place.
Easy to user and vision friendly
What do you like best about the product?
One thing i absolutely love about Notion is the easy of use and how it can be implemented into almost any team. It is a great way to collaborate and stay efficient. Moreover, I think the Notion AI integration has been great. Since I work in a software company, there is a lot of data and hard to navigate and find it sometimes - through the Notion AI, you can go ahead and quickly find the answers you are searching for. Definitely recommend it!
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be overcrowded sometimes but the Notion AI does help decrease that and make it more efficient.

What do you like best about the product?
As a product manager, I use Notion daily to manage docs, roadmaps, and team knowledge. The AI Writing Assistant helps me write faster and clearer, the Knowledge Management tools keep everything in one place, and Enterprise Search saves me hours finding info across projects. It’s boosted both my productivity and our team’s alignment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Performance issues with large pages: Once a doc gets heavy with content, embeds, or databases, it can slow down.
