Notion is my life: state machine for my mind, the front end for my custom AI tools and integrations

  • May 19, 2025

What do you like best about the product?
It's not just software, It's made with deeply philosophical opinionated product design at its best resulting in a modular lego like experience where you can quickly and easily build systems that support your life and allow you to thrive in the modern day, reach escape velocity for all the bs of every day life that your mind should be clear of and support a mindful happy life all while providing the best user interface of any software on the market today. Notion will be studied by product designers and then well AI eventually I suppose for years to come.

I have converted everyone I can and my company to notion and the payoffs are immediate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notion is less a product and more a graphical programming language that took me years to master. It can be opaque for those less obsessed than me.

The email and calendar are still not usable but they'll get there.

I don't like how when you use the turn into feature /turn into; page it makes a full line link that can't be turned into an inline link. I almost always...no actually always want an inline link to pages or at least the ability to turn the full line links into inline ones so they can be inserted into text, lists, etc. rn I have to always remember to use [[ to make the pages otherwise it's a hassle to get them to be inline.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Data Management | Project Management

What do you like best about the product?
I'm able to organize my data and share it with people I need to coordinate or collaborate with easily.
On top of that, it allows me to create small AI features to clean up or add my data, like searching and cleaning up social media links for contacts in my region.
The AI Writing Assistant has helped me streamline my messaging, especially regarding step-by-step or product releases.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not being able to see the question or past input when using the AI feature in the boards.
I wish there were more automation options; it's still too confusing to create this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing contacts in my region, creating and updating contact information (live, no need of shared excel or PDF)
Rewriting and streamlining text/emials/announcements
Researching data when needed

Notion – limitless applications

What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility Notion provides. It has a learning curve, but after learning how to use it, you will begin to see how it can be used in all types of situations. We currently are adding it as a home base for tons of functions within our company, and is helping with the amount of ping-ponging between different apps and files to get our work done collaboratively.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is a little bulky in areas like task organization. And sharing objects between databases isn't very straightforward. Also, the AI is undependable and has a hard time calling data from Notion boards. Sometimes I find myself trying to figure something out for too long, having hoped it wouldn't have been such a complicated thing to figure out in the first place.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping all of my thoughts in one place and allowing for flexibility for my own workflows when other apps have too many guardrails.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I began using Notion for work, but it quickly became a tool I rely on for every part of my life. I really appreciate the board view feature, as well as how seamlessly it integrates with my calendar and email. The interface is straightforward and user-friendly, which makes it a pleasure to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I sometimes have trouble figuring out the layouts for certain features, but overall, the experience remains consistent and it doesn't cause me significant frustration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion helps me keep track of my work tasks, organize data collected from interviews, and build a shared repository of information that can be accessed by everyone in our company.

Great productivity app and second brain tool that is used daily.

What do you like best about the product?
Notion provides a place for me to track all my projects, set goals, plan my day and give my clients the follow up care that they need. I no longer have to search around to find note related to my projects, areas, or topics. The fully customizable platform allows me to create the best tool for my use case and after the initial learning curve is easy to use. The AI tool is great as it can topically search my thousands of noted to pule back the information I need.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that the AI meeting notes don't work well on the Android phone. It times out and stops recording.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I now have tools from Notion that help me stay organized and my follow ups are not set with reminders. The AI assistant has been great to summarize long notes, format the notes, action items and possible objections to the them of the note.

Effortless Information Integration, High Usability

  • May 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how user-friendly Notion is, simplifying the process of keeping departments connected and ensuring everyone accesses the latest information. The availability of templates makes setup straightforward, and its integration capabilities with other tools like Salesforce enhance its functionality. The AI bot feature is particularly helpful in speeding up searches and linking related information across pages.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the only thing I would add is the ability to create my own space apart from the work environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion to centralize our information, reducing duplication and outdated data issues while boosting team connectivity. The AI bot enhances quick searches across pages, and integration with tools like Salesforce and Google Drive streamlines our workflow.

Getting Use Out of Notion AI

  • May 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One of the best parts about Notion is that it has every feature you can think of. If you need to track something or do anything, the building blocks that Notion provides gives you nearly infinite flexibility. Basically, if you can think it, you can do it. And if you can't do it inside of Notion, connect it to anything else through their easy connections/integrations. It's the most direct path to anything you need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notion is great, but it's infinite flexibility is also one of it's biggest downsides. Sometimes, you don't want to have to think big, but Notion almost forces you to think bigger. It's like looking at the starts and knowing there's so much out there but not knowing how to reach it. Unlike the stars though, you'll eventually figure out Notion and how you can implement it in every corner of your life. After that, it's incredibly easy to use. Just make it past the early implementation hurdlers and you'll start using Notion as a daily part of your life and work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion solves nearly every organizational problem you can think of. If you need to track something over a short or long period of time, Notion grows with your needs. One of the most powerful additions to Notion was Notion AI. Everyone's looking at AI as the next greatest thing, but people are still unsure how to use it. Notion AI removes that question by giving you answers directly from the knowledge sources inside of your workspace. The more you use Notion, the better it gets. Now it's about getting information in there so Notion AI can help you use it (which is the big question everyone is thinking)

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to organize my AI generative notes so that I can give prompts with high levels of context.

It’s also fun!
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a bit to get used to it. But once you think in Notion, I think you’d find it hard to go back.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I’m using Notion as an AI companion for writing content, organising project documentation and providing documentation for colleagues

Notion is a powerhouse for organisation and documentation

  • May 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Extremely flexible: You can use it for anything—docs, wikis, project management, personal notes, or team collaboration.

Beautiful UI: Clean, minimal, and intuitive once you get the hang of it.

All-in-one workspace: Combines Google Docs, Trello, and Evernote into one tool.

Collaboration-friendly: Real-time updates and shared workspaces work well for teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Steep learning curve: Tons of features, but can feel overwhelming for new users.

Mobile experience is mid: Slower and clunkier than desktop.

Offline mode is weak: Limited functionality when not connected to the internet.

Performance lags: Large pages or databases can get sluggish.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion solves the chaos of having too many disconnected tools. Instead of juggling Google Docs for writing, Trello for tasks, and Evernote for notes, I use Notion to centralise everything in one place. That means less context switching, fewer tabs, and a single source of truth for projects and documentation.

Notion makes cross-functional collaboration easy

  • May 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how it doesn't cater to one specific department. Some other tools (*cough cough* confluence *cough cough*) clearly only cater to Engineering/Product and not to the rest of the org. Notion is user-friendly regardless of the user's technical know-how.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like any collaborative tool it can become a bit of a beast to maintain
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion solves the problem of cross-department documentation, which is crucial for a fast-growing tech company with a global workforce
