    Research

Big fan of Notion

  • August 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a project manager for 7+ research projects, it's incredibly hard to keep track of everything going on and what's left to do for each project. I've found Notion's pre-made templates really helpful for tracking team member tasks, managing budgets, and planning timelines.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the interface is not the easiest to use, especially with the already made templates. There are certain things I find easier to do on Canva or Excel, where I feel like I have a little more control over the formatting and creativity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They really helped me with tracking all of my team members' tasks for this research project. We have 5 members, and I'm in charge of keeping them on track with their respective duties, which can be very demanding and confusing. Luckily, the Task Tracker template helped me a lot, and I've shared it with my team, and they use it now too!

Notion AI is a game-changer!

What do you like best about the product?
I previously used Dashworks, but since Notion AI was released, it's helped immensely! I felt that prior to Notion AI, the keyword search lacked, so this has been a major enhancement.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to comment. The search functionality was improved by Notion AI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work for a completely remote company. We are a low meeting, high documentation culture so async collaboration tools are critical. I can collaborate on several different job functions with my team seamlessly.

    Executive Office

Versatile Tool for Seamless Workflow Management

  • August 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like Notion for its easy collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and it's also easy to teach to others as part of my training team. I appreciate being able to transform databases into different views, like calendar views. I created my PTO coverage in Notion, which is easy to follow, includes a calendar view, instructions, and a clear structure as if the person covering for me was me. Additionally, Notion is easier to manage compared to Google Workspace and offers features like content creation, which eliminates the need for other apps like Canva and Google. The initial setup was basic, allowing us to create processes as we explored it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the inability to connect directly with apps like Slack for automations, as we need to use a third-party service like Zapier to trigger automated messages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion makes collaboration easy with internal and external stakeholders and is simple to teach as part of our training team.

Notion is critical to my role as a CSM.

What do you like best about the product?
It would be near impossible to do my job without Notion as a documentation resource. Creation of articles is really easy and straightforward
What do you dislike about the product?
Something like Scribe is really appealing for documentation of processes. I see a niche for both tools however, so maybe an integration would make more sense if it doesn't already exist.

Sometimes the search functionality doesn't quite take me where I am hoping it can be hard to find content. Notion, to some degree, is as good as the org you work for is able to have designed it. If nobody directly "owns" Notion things can just proliferate without great organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation of processes and resources. Gives me less that I have to remember or keep track of on my own and allows me to engage with and respond to clients more quickly. Allows me to more easily move from reaction to action.

Detailed workspace communications

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to format and set up new pages of information, choosing the settings and privacy
What do you dislike about the product?
When archiving old pages- the new or replacement pages of information are not easily linked. It can be difficult to search for or find specific pages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion is our internal intraweb. I can find all internal policy documents, as well as product information. It also is used for ticket management with certain teams, like legal.

Versatile Project Management with Room for Improvement

  • August 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Notion's role as a comprehensive project management software that keeps all projects up-to-date, especially during client calls. The AI transfer feature is invaluable for asking questions and retrieving call notes quickly. The Notion AI transcription feature is particularly beneficial for maintaining clear communication and overview during calls. I find the Mac and phone apps incredibly helpful and easy to use. Notion's visual capabilities, including different views and linked databases, make managing personal projects both efficient and visually appealing. The integration with tools like Google Drive enhances data organization and connectivity.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the challenges with exporting databases to CSV or Google Sheets format, which limits my ability to use data with tools like ChatGPT. Additionally, embedding Google Sheets and managing live links doesn't always function as intended.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion for project management, client interaction, and note-taking. It keeps projects up-to-date, enhances client calls with AI transcription, and allows easy retrieval of information, integrating well with tools like Slack, Zoom, and Google Meet.

Great organization tool

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how easy it is to organize information and use templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notion AI is lacking and cannot input criteria into specific parts of my pages (e.g. inputting information into a database, correcting and replacing information in a template).

I would like to be able to customize the colors I use on my page, by using a color wheel/hex code numbers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion allows me to keep track of notes, make trackers, and make databases.

Powerful, Versatile, though a Bit Overwhelming at First

  • August 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is an incredibly powerful and flexible platform that I use daily. Its wide range of features makes it an exceptional project management tool, capable of handling everything from simple task lists to complex multi-database systems. The ability to integrate with other tools and customize workflows means it can fit seamlessly into almost any operational setup. Despite its depth, I’ve found it surprisingly easy to implement once the structure is set, and the organization it provides is unmatched. The platform’s versatility makes it ideal for both personal and team use, and customer support has been responsive and helpful when I’ve needed guidance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main drawback is the steep learning curve—its vast functionality can be overwhelming at first. For new users, it takes time to figure out how to structure pages and databases in a way that feels intuitive. While Notion AI is a great addition, it could be better at prioritizing the most recent and relevant information in responses. For those willing to invest the time, the payoff in productivity and organization is significant, but it’s worth noting the initial ramp-up period.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion centralizes all of my project management, documentation, and knowledge-sharing in one place, eliminating the need to juggle multiple tools. It allows me to create structured, linked databases that make tracking tasks, processes, and historical reference material seamless. This consolidation has reduced the time spent searching for information, improved team alignment, and given me a single source of truth for projects—especially when collaborating across departments. The flexibility to customize workflows means I can adapt it to different needs without losing efficiency, and its integrations ensure that it fits smoothly into my daily operations.

So much potential!

What do you like best about the product?
The versitility and range of applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it has a bit of a learning curve for less tech-savvy users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion can be used to replace so many other software solutions out there. We were able to build our entire organization's onboarding process into Notion, use it as an intranet, a project manager, a note-taking aid, an AI meeting note-taker and so much more. I also use the calendar and mail features and there so much smarter and more intuitive than many other options out there.

An amazing tool to navigate our gigantic company documentation

  • August 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's the best way to document stuff in a collaborative fashion, super useful and easy in most use-cases, and with the usage of AI, incredibly powerful as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Whenever I want to tackle some complex integration or automation, I ran into a wall that doesn't allow me to get that last-mile configuration. Those are super specific cases, such as setting the initial index of a prefix that's already preset for a database, or better using the properties within the automations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Writing lots of documentation and working collaboratively with my peers.
