Very good for management

  • October 12, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Since the 2.46 update, Notion has introduced embedded forms, allowing for easy collection of feedback or information without leaving the application. Version 2.49 added page verification to enhance the security of shared documents. Task automation has been improved, such as the integration of formulas in automations to facilitate workflow management. The interface has also been optimized, with calendar updates and a simplified configuration. These new features make Notion even more powerful for managing projects, tasks, and communications, while remaining accessible and intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
What Notion could improve is its interface for beginners, as some features remain a bit complex to handle. Also, better offline management would be a real asset for working without a connection.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion solves several problems related to project management among many others, such as project organization and task lists.

Affordable and Easy to Use Wiki for a Small Team

  • October 11, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I was a first time user of Notion when I started at my new company, and I was able to navigate and start contributing to our company Wiki within the first week - extremely easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not in love with the UI of Notion. It's a pretty blank space and you can't make many edits to that - maybe I still need to learn more about it, but I think it could be easier on the eyes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company uses Notion as a knowledge hub for the entire company. If it's not in Notion, did it even happen? From internal HR documents, to Sales Playbooks, and Marketing and Sales updates - it's in there.

I can easily manage my playbooks and docs. Plus, sharing is too easy now!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion streamlines my life by centralizing all my tasks, notes, and projects, making it more efficient and organized. It's a game-changer.

About Notion

  • October 06, 2023

What do you like best about the product?
Collaboration and connection with many other services.

Personally, I find that some Markdown apps work better than Notion in terms of document editing itself.
However, the main strength of Notion comes from its collaboration feature and easy integration with many other services.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are clear downsides of Notion in editing.
For instance, despite its block-based structure, some types of blocks cannot have child blocks. With Markdown editors, this is always possible by having bullet points.
Also, the block-based structure also imposes some limitations, like when pasting (multi-line) paragraphs into Notion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaborative project management.

What do you like best about the product?
The note taking feature is really usefull in writing effective product requirement documents and product roadmaps. It can also be used to create To-do lists/checklists and Kanban boards. Accesses can be shared across team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
Team collaboration and communication could have been better. The mobile version lacks some important features present in the desktop version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion helps us write and review detailed product requirement documents which help translate business requirements into product's functionality. It serves as a medium for our business and tech teams to collaborate.

Personal Notebook for Everything

  • September 27, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that it's a great way to organize my day and my personal work as well as collaborate with my company and colleagues on bigger projects
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can become a little overwhelming and messy if you don't do consistent housekeeping to keep it organized. Things can get lost in the shuffle sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I create a personal to-do list in Notion to start my day so it helps with planning.

It's a personal notebook that I can use to jot down creative ideas so it solves the problem of disorganized note taking apps or notebooks.

It helps me collaborate with a remote team on creative projects, copywriting, and larger projects and tasks in general company-wide so we can always see where we're at individually and on different teams.

Stable product with a valuable combination of structured text and databases

  • September 26, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We use the application as a knowledge database to capture notes on different subjects.

What is most valuable?

The application's most valuable feature is the combination of structured text and databases.

What needs improvement?

It is complicated to connect Notion with external systems. We have to transfer the data or convert files into compatible formats for generating final reports.

They should include a feature for queries within text documents, including snippets of databases and formulas.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Notion for two years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable product. However, it works slowly for reloading large databases.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I use EverNote and OneNote. Both platforms don't have a concept of structured databases similar to Notion.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is easy.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The product's pricing depends on the usage plans. Currently, they offer a free plan for individual users with some limitations. I also have access to its educational plan, which is a bit more expensive. There are different plans with free versions. Further, we can subscribe to the paid versions depending on the use cases.

What other advice do I have?

There are plenty of products like Notion. For individual users, I recommend it because of the accessibility of the features. At the same time, I advise large organizations to compare a few different systems before making a purchase decision.

I rate Notion a nine out of ten.
