My review? as an individual Notion user

  • August 01, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity: ease of use, nothing crazy/fancy, it just works, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
I use Notion mostly for daily notes. Sometimes it's laborious to create a note for another day because the templates are too clunky. It'd be nice to using templates easier; it's possible that I've missed this function that exists somewhere, but tbh I spent ~ 10 minutes figuring out where that personal template might be, and that should've been more than enough if it exists at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It works? It's simple with no bloated features.

What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to memorize the various keyboard commands.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
How can I provide a one-stop shop for all my documents that need to be shared with stakeholders?

What do you like best about the product?
The search capabilities of Notion are excellent, and they allow you to nest various documents, pages, etc. while maintaining discoverability. Additionally, the visual aesthetics of Notion are superb.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is somewhat of a learning curve associated with Notion, as there are many hidden functionalities that aren't immediately clear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As our company is scaling, having easily accessible documentation and guides is super important, and notion has been fulfilling this need well.

Integrates various tasks and provides efficient capability to export content to other platforms

  • July 30, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My primary use case for Notion involves organizing my daily activities, planning yearly goals, managing technical content, and writing articles.

What is most valuable?

The ability to create and organize notes, plans, and technical content in a single platform is the product's most valuable feature. Additionally, its capability to export content in markdown format simplifies transferring my work to other platforms.

What needs improvement?

The platform's documentation feature needs improvement. It could benefit from enhanced grammar and error-checking capabilities to aid users in producing error-free content.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the product's stability a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The platform is highly scalable.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used Evernote for note-taking and organizing my work. I switched to Notion because it offered a more comprehensive set of features that met my needs for technical documentation and content management.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was relatively straightforward.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Notion is free to use.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I evaluated other options, but Notion stood out due to its versatility and ability to integrate various content and tasks.

What other advice do I have?

I highly recommend taking the time to familiarize yourself with Notion’s interface and features. While it might take some getting used to, especially if you are accustomed to other tools like Google Docs, the investment in learning will pay off in terms of productivity and organization.

I rate it a nine.
