Great and streamlined, with some minor hiccups.

  • July 06, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The streamlined workflow and possible integration, both externally and internally. Being able to easily present production processes for the internal sales team and production partners, for example.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some minor hiccups are present. Small bugs that lead to a lot of frustration, trying to figure out where exactly your integrated database calculations went wrong. Thankfully support personnel is trying their absolute best to solve every problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Masterbase data that are usable among all relevant personnel on a project without having to use a ton of different programs. Also, calculations that use that same date in a meaningful way.

Notion is my favorite platform for digital organization

  • July 05, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Full customization of my systems and processes. I love that Notion doesn't prescribe how to use Notion. It can be custom-tailored to each unique situation. Master databases and relational properties are amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sharing can be tricky when it comes to master databases where I want to have some information visible but ultimately the rest of the database private. I would love for sharing to be more intuitive to both me and the people I am collaborating with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project and task management, time tracking, tracking books I've read and reading recommendations, sites and articles I want to revisit, quotes I like, recipes, note-taking, journaling.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It may take some strategic thinking up front to consider how Notion can work best for you, but once you get it all set up, it runs like a dream and is easily expandable.

Great canvas for ideas

  • July 05, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is a great platform for brainstorming because it allows some simple input to change into different modalities (to do lists, schedules, etc.) super easily
What do you dislike about the product?
The flexibility can be its own enemy at times as things become a pretty tangled web. Higher level org features might help with that? Not sure. Happy as is though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're in the beginning stages of a project and it allows all of us to create our own individual processes and then link to one another when necessary. That flexibility keeps us from having to create some fanatical overhead process everyone has to follow.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's great. There's not so much a learning curve, but more just how to use it the way it works for you. The flexibility is great, but without a plan you sometimes have enough rope to hang yourself with. It comes pretty naturally as long as you keep with it though :)

Also, just as a note, this form is pretty annoying. Just have all the questions available at first. Every time new questions come up I lose hope it will ever end and it feels a bit dishonest, to be honest.

Notion review from a Champ user

  • July 05, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that Notion is super flexible and fits all your needs: building a CRM, a to-do list, a second brain etc...
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't really like the mobile app, it's not intuitive nor fast if you just want to add an item in a database for instance.
I don't like the Search bar on Notion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the fact of having many tools because Notion is finally a all-in-one tool that allows you to create databases, documentation all at the same place.

Beyond docs and cloud storage

  • July 04, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion allows you to forget about email + documents + cloud storage. The core attribute of Notion is "context". Everything is together or just one click away and you don't have to worry about "where exactly is it".
What do you dislike about the product?
While less of a problem today, it can still get slow sometimes, especially when dealing with many, big, nested files in tables that have multiple relationships to other tables (aka joins)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main reason we switched to notion was the ability to have everything in one place and write mode detailed, context-rich documentation/spec while preserving a compact look and feel (by using toggles). Next tables (databases) allowed us to actually move away from many internal systems and define our own workflow/pipeline for product research, user research, marketing content, product specs, roadmaps etc. At this point it's everything in Notion
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want 1) to save money and sync time from using multiple apps, 2) you want the flexibility of your own workflows 3) all in a nice minimalistic and aesthetically pleasing interface, look no further than Notion.

Small add-ons can make it an undisputed leader in note-taking

  • July 02, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how simple it is. I have a much better handle of notes
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish we could scribble using Apple Pencil on iPad version of Notion. Very specific usecase, I know but that is how I take my notes in meeting
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps me organize my thoughts and ideas

Excellent Documentation Software

  • July 01, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is incredibly robust in that it has an amazing number of implementation options, such as embedding videos, inserting tables, images, etc. It has automations for many integrations as well, such as tables of content, connect to Slack, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notion's interface can be a little finicky at times, especially when trying to edit existing bulleted or numbered lists. They have made updates to improve this recently, so I'm confident it won't always be finicky at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion provides a great cloud-based platform to document everything a company needs to document with necessary varying levels of privacy and security. Notion makes it easy to create, house, and share everything from public how-to documents (complete with videos, graphic, screenshots, etc.) to private employee-specific maternity leave plans that are only visible to that employee and their leader.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use Notion as a place for documentation, not project management. Notion is amazing when paired with another Project Management software, but it's definitely the best documentation software available today.

Incredible Tool for Knowledge Work (but...)

  • July 01, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is a great product for knowledge work - as a matter of fact, it's the only one I recommend to my friends to this day. All the tools you need are there and easy to use - but if you need advanced solutions, Notion does some pretty nifty things too.

It's a great tool for project management and cooperation. Creating databases, keeping records, expanding the team's knowledge pool - it does everything an advanced tool like Atlassian can, but way more intuitive.

Notion also works great for personal projects. I used Evernote for that before, and it annoyed me to no end with clunky UI, limited functionality, and weird design choices. Notion does everything I hoped Evernote would, and you don't need to navigate a slow and clunky interface to do it.

Also, the page that allows you to migrate from Evernote to Notion filled me with the most delightful schadenfreude: https://www.notion.so/evernote
What do you dislike about the product?
Had you asked me for this review a few months back, it would've been an easy 10/10. Since then, I did discover a part of Notion that I passionately dislike: the billing.

Notion uses seat-based plans, meaning there is a certain number of users per paid plan. Go over that, and you get upgraded - standard stuff. But what it doesn't really clarify is that everyone you invite to cooperate - even a person who left one comment in a marketing plan - is counted towards that cap. There is no warning, you simply get billed on the spot.

Even worse, you don't get any kind of banner or email after the upgrade. Your card simply gets billed. There is a very narrow cancellation window, so if you don't notice the extra charge in time - you're out of luck. They did give us Notion credit when we complained as a way to compensate. But when your company is forced to pay more than double the initial price asked, it felt as good as giving us some Monopoly money. Thanks guys.

Notion is a great product that doesn't need to trick its customers to get paid. The value is well on display - just ask and we will be glad to pay. As it stands, my team feels we were duped.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion solves the problem of data availability. It's very easy to create a system that keeps all the info you need handy.

Even better, there are easy-to-use integration and automation tools. Those help you cross-reference data, save time on repetitive tasks, and just make your database look gorgeous.
