Highly Adaptable but Steep Learning Curve
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that I can tailor it to fit our needs and customize how we use it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Due to its high level of adaptability, I have found that there is a steep learning curve, and I am still in the process of mastering it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team works remotely and functions much like a start-up, constantly launching new initiatives within an established small business. Since our team is small, we often lack visibility into what others are working on or how they might be able to support our projects. Notion helps us bridge this gap by keeping us connected and allowing us to track our various projects more effectively.
Powerful Organization and Integration, but Needs Better Database Merging and Chart Options
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Notion for nearly 4 to 5 years now. What I appreciate most about Notion is how it helps me organize my thoughts and ideas. There are multiple ways to document my writing, but I find myself using the Notion database the most. I really enjoy the various filtering options and the ability to use complex formulas, which allow me to accomplish a range of tasks. The linked database feature is also something I find very useful. Properties like rollup, relation, last updated by, and created by make managing information much simpler. Another aspect I love is the Notion MCP, which has allowed me to connect Notion with other tools such as Claude, Jira, and n8n. Now, with Notion AI, creating databases and formulas has become even easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
One feature I experimented with in Notion has already seen some improvements, especially with the introduction of new formulas that have made things much simpler. However, I ran into a roadblock when I tried to merge two different databases, as this functionality is still missing. Additionally, when it comes to graphics and charts, there are still quite a few limitations. The options available are limited, and I am unable to represent more than two properties in a single chart.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion excels at addressing the challenge of managing various types of data through its database feature, which is enhanced by a range of formulas that make it easy to generate reports for leadership and highlight key areas of focus. Its flexibility has also allowed me to integrate it with tools like Claude, Jira, and n8n, which has enabled different automations and helped cut down on redundant work and manual task entry. As a result, I am saving time and streamlining my processes.
Notion Makes Organization Easy, But Needs More Tutorials
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy using Notion because it allows me to quickly select a new template and customize it to develop my ideas. I find myself using Notion more often than Apple Notes, as it makes creating new note pages simple and keeps everything well organized. Notion has also become a valuable tool for managing my everyday life.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I find lacking is the number of tutorial pages available. I wish there were more resources to help me better understand how to use Notion’s features to their fullest. Right now, I feel like I’m only using about 5% of what it can do, and I know there’s so much more I could learn.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion has been instrumental in helping me tackle fundamental challenges, such as organizing and planning my projects. With a large project on my hands, Notion allows me to break it down into smaller, more manageable tasks, making it much easier for me to handle and complete on my own. Additionally, I appreciate that I can share my ideas with friends and family, who can easily follow my notes and understand what I am working on.

Good Platform with Potential for Better Automation
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Notion's integration with other apps, which is essential for my workflow automation. The AI chat feature in the pro version has notably made my experience smoother and more efficient. Additionally, the platform itself is reliable and useful for managing various materials and projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the automation features of Notion somewhat lacking. If there were more actions available to complete tasks, it would improve the platform significantly. Additionally, I initially found the setup process a bit challenging until I upgraded to the pro version, which provided AI chat support to ease the process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion for automation and workflow integration with other apps. The AI chat feature improves ease of use and efficiency, although I haven't fully benefited yet but I'm learning. The platform's integration capabilities enhance overall experience.

The AI feature is still in the works and learning - with our organization sometimes it isn't the most helpful.

Cross-functional collaboration and documentation for all teams at our company. All of our SOPs are easy to access in notion and anyone on the team can update them anytime. It's easy to add agenda items for our team, charts for tracking projects or bonuses, etc.
Great for ADHD students

Flexible Note-Taking with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I absolutely appreciate Notion's flexibility and how seamlessly it integrates into my daily workflow. The ability to link between pages and treat each text segment as a standalone block is fantastic. Notion's AI features and the diversity in database views enhance my productivity, and I love being able to share public sites with others who don't use Notion. The suggestion mode versus direct edit mode is a much-valued addition, and the real-time collaboration with visible avatars or emojis greatly enhances the teamwork aspect. Moreover, the cloud sync feature is a game-changer, providing a unified experience across devices, solidifying my preference for Notion over alternatives.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find organizing multiple pages in Notion challenging, especially when creating databases or team landing pages. Starting with a blank canvas is quite difficult, and I believe the templates are mediocre and not user-friendly. The formatting limitations within tables in Notion frustrate me, as I can't incorporate bullets or add comments to specific parts. Furthermore, the distinction between tables and databases is perplexing because tables lack flexibility, while databases are too rigid. This complexity is irritating. Additionally, I'd prefer the ability to insert badges or statuses directly within pages in a straightforward manner. Lastly, Notion's free plan seems limiting, and I might consider alternatives like Google Docs due to their more generous offering.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion to centralize company documents and personal notes into a single accessible source, enhancing visibility. It eases starting new notes, though linking them intuitively is challenging. The ability to share sites, link pages, and collaborate in real-time is beneficial.
