Making note taking simple
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to customise the way you take notes and format them in a way that best suits your way of understanding and recalling information is what I like the best about Notion.
What do you dislike about the product?
Using Notion takes a lot of practice, and although there are videos out there that content creators have made to make things easier for someone to start from scratch can be a struggle.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can take notes and use AI Writing Assistant to my advantage to improve my writing and format it in a way that best suits me. It benefits me mainly by being more efficient with the time I spend taking notes to spend the rest of my available time more wisely.
Amazingly useful for organising my brain
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to create the structure of most of my pages and easily put what's on my mind "on paper". I love the templates feature and it helps that I can customise my own templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I cannot easily get what I want to be done, especially with databases. There is a way to do it, but it is so complex that I resort to doing it with other software
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem notion helps me with is to upload my brain into a reliable place where I will be able to quickly find all the information I need. It also helps me to organise in a methodical way the information I have. It takes a huge amount of time to create a good system, but once it is done is very helpful.

Database filtering - the ability to see so many different views (time, category, etc.) is phenomenal

I wish there was graphing capabilities built directly into notion
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion on a daily basis to organize my entire existence as a first year medical school student. I have all my lecture PDFs, notes, assignment due dates, clinical schemas, pathology, histology and anatomy information all built into my notion. I have built an extensive Step 1 study guide from all of my lecture and outside resources. I also use AI extensively for answering a wide variety of in depth medical based questions as well as in writing assignments, note writing, differential diagnoses, etc.

What do you like best about the product?
What I enjoy most about Notion is how flexible of a tool it is. You can build a system that best supports the way that you work and your preferences. Since databases are used behind the scenes, you can quickly and easily create different views, filters, searches, etc. (and other people can do the same thing for them, too, using the same data set!).
Notion AI is a game-changer when rewriting, drafting, or making content more understandable. I find myself making a much quicker process when using Notion AI than I had done independently when writing documentation, notes, etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that comes to mind as a dislike about Notion is that some of the import/export abilities are pretty limited. Other than that, I don't have anything that I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion provides a flexible platform for creating and maintaining various knowledge bases, note-taking processes, and task management, all within a single tool. Linking all data together for direct reference is much nicer than using separate tools, and it saves a lot of time.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Notion has a variety of different ways to store and manage data. It's a well-rounded tool that has become a favourite for my team.
The new AI feature is pretty good. I have used it quite a bit to improve my writing over the last few weeks. It has been a nice addition to my everyday use of Notion.

What do you dislike about the product?
The AI does need some improvement. It is a little repetitive when I select 'try again.' It seems to only have a few options to choose from when I ask it to 'try again.'
The major area of Notion that requires improvement is the database.
The performance of the database feature needs to be improved. When there are a lot of columns or rows, it's extremely slow.
The databases also need more options to safely store and manage data. Things like being able to freeze rows, and lock columns would be very useful. We switched a large amount of data into Notion, and we spend quite a bit of time fixing accidental changes.
Alerts are also missing from the database. It would be great to complete task hand-offs seamlessly using Notion.
Another feature that we desperately need that is missing is the ability to combine dates from multiple databases into one.

We have switched the majority of information that we were managing in spreadsheets to Notion and created large databases that house tasks from multiple teams. Our data requires a lot of filtering and sorting, and Notion has been a step up from spreadsheets for these features.
Ease of use and excellent AI function
What do you like best about the product?
AI has been a game changer, and I like the different options Notion offers e.g., big heading, call out, and more. Using Notion has made organisation very easy and has made it easier for me as a busy student.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one thing I will have to complain about is that Notion doesn't allow for automatic capitalisation when you start a new sentence. I cannot explain how frustrating this is when you are in a hurry/in general. Please introduce this option as a matter of urgency!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion allows me to get my thoughts on to paper, sometime it is hard to articulate what you want to say well and Notion is very helpful in this area. I think that fucntions like AI are incredibly useful especially with how fast paced the digital environment is, and the need to eradicate tedious tasks using AI makes everyone's lives that much easier.

It acts like my second brain. I put almost everything in it and have definitely shared this both with my friends in my circles and people within my business community.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how much time I have to spend designing databases. I know there are a plethora of templates, but goodness, sometimes I spend more time designing a page than actually using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In business, I was trying to solve the issue of coming up with social media posts. Especially on times that Chat GPT was down and being really really slow. So Notion's AI really had helped me in a pinch.

Near perfect
What do you like best about the product?
The free flowing, highly customisable platform. This provides a brilliant tool for collaboration and sharing information with people and partners. No other platform has given the flexibility to add the elements I can in notion.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notions export and printable formats are particularly bad. Which means the offline sharing (sending pdf's or printing for a meeting) fails to capture the quality of the platform. This needs improvement.

Notion is a personal note taking and summary assistant. It is the one stop shop for all personal and professional thought and note management and is a database for research and writing projects.

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is very visually appealing, which is one of the best parts of the application. This said, I always tell my friends that the ability to embed other apps makes notion such a powerful application. The database function is easily the reason why I use notion. Another very helpful thing is the autonomy that is given to the user. This is much appreciated as a computer science student who is not a novice in technology because I feel I have more capabilities than in other programs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The major downside of notion is that it is not widely used. I think over time; this will change. Another thing is the lack of a social aspect. I believe that a messaging addition could be helpful. I have only used notion for personal use, so this may already exist. A way to link a calendar to google calendar would be amazing because that is what people commonly use for meetings etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It generates my daily to-do list. It stores all of my notes etc which is extremely helpful. I also have many virtual spaces I work in and notion unifies them. I do use notion as an ai tool. A chat tab would be helpful rather then just the in page use
