I've known about Notion for a while but I only just finally "got it"!

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is so simple to use and its possibilities are almost endless. I love that you can create as many documents as you like and quickly and easily style them and add to them. I love that you can use the different pages in multiple different ways, either as a journal, or to take notes, or as a repository for documentation about different workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love it if the free version offered a bit more features for collaboration, but I guess it's well worth it to just get the paid version if you're going to be using it with a team to collaborate on any conceivable project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion helps me by being a quick and simple place that's accessible anywhere that I can use to track whatever I want, whether that's documentation for software that I use, or journal entries so I can see what I've done on a particular day.

Project Management at it's finest and most aesthetic!

What do you like best about the product?
The best part of Notion is the ease of notating items and creating tags for sorting, blocks for informational references, and links (either to websites or existing pages!).
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest downside to Notion is access functions. Notion allows you to "Leave" pages without warning, to the point where one misclick can kick you out of your own page. I had to wrangle customer support into my issue of giving me access back into my own page since it wasn't shared with anyone else and contained vital info.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion is upping their sharing features that are vital for my team. Sharing pages through a built hierarchy of granted permission and page access leaves no room for confusion and allows for smooth communication across teams and supervisors.

What do you like best about the product?
Absolutely everything is ordered.
I love being able to relate different databases to each other.
The alarm system is great.
Being able to create your own templates is a great help.
What do you dislike about the product?
Possibly the biggest downside to Notion is the learning curve
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I never miss an important date.
I always have at hand all the information I need and when I need it
I save a lot of time

Really powerful system for your team

  • September 01, 2022

What do you like best about the product?
A powerful tool, especially if you want to build out mini databases, wikis or any sort of internal documentation for your team. I like the clean UI of the pages.
What do you dislike about the product?
Users/teammates will still have a "Google Doc" mindset, and they're not fully invested in using all the different formatting available. Blocks can be confusing for new users. The nesting of pages can also be somewhat confusing. Dark mode is great, but copying and pasting from dark mode
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion helps with my internal team wiki and internal documentation.

Excellent tool to organize information

What do you like best about the product?
The multiple formatting features allow me to organize and distribute information in an easy-to-understand way. also you can add multiple types of data and embed it from other sources making it even better
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly is hard to find something that I dislike about Notion, the only thing I could mention is that sometimes when I share a page as a website the format brokes a bit
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping journals, organized knowledge in general, visualizing and processing information for your own use or sharing it with a team to keep a central source of information

All-in-one platform

What do you like best about the product?
I like the fractal nature of Notion. Instead of Trello and other apps, it allows you to create nested kanban boards, link databases, and many other distinct features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes Notion can be slow, but I think they are doing a great job lately. Another point is the dependency and ability to export all data. As far as I know this is not currently possible
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use notion as my main productivity tool for me and my team. I use kanban boards for projects, tasks, and to delegate it to other people, as well as to follow the tasks.

Lifechanging!

What do you like best about the product?
I love how customizable Notion is. Depending on the project type, I can set up my tables in various formats. This flexibility allows me to use Notion in both my personal and professional life.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a slight learning curve when using Notion but I don't think that differs from any other platform - once you've watched a few tutorial videos, it is very straightforward.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion keeps me organized and helps me track various projects and to-do lists across my personal life and in my small business. I use it as a second brain, a library, and a project manager.

Flexible and versatile

What do you like best about the product?
We like that we can design our own databases, we've been able to do on Notion the things that other paid services offer. It's all in one place which we like.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notion isn't opinionated in its fields or templates, which means we have more flexibility but we also need to think more about how to set up our databases. More templates could be helpful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion seems like an operating system that can handle our different data needs. It could help if it had more granular permissions, or a way to see which pages are shared and which aren't. Maybe some sort of tags or flags at the top of the pages

    Education Management

My favorite platform for collaboration.

What do you like best about the product?
For the prod-dev delivery team, Notion truly has it all: an intuitive UI, powerful integrations with other platforms like Jira and Figma, and a thriving community of Notion Nerds to help you build almost any page you can dream of. The databases are my bread and butter—they can be used in so many ways! The Notion support team is also helpful and quick to reply.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much—there are a few annoying quirks, like lack of an "upvote" functionality and the need to use an external form builder (Tally works well), and the mobile app is a bit lackluster—but overall the team is responsive to user needs and seems to listen to their community in terms of building and improving features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company uses Notion for documentation of all our projects, which we store as database records. We can then use these records to populate roadmap views for leadership meetings, as well as link other databases of features and teams to get visibility into where we're spending our resources.
