Acumatica is a great upgrade path for Dynamics SL companies (and probably Dynamics GP)
What do you like best about the product?
We like both the depth of features across the varied modules and the flexibility of the platform to be extended/modified. We also like the partner-based model, as that is what we have had for years with Dynamics SL. With our extensive SL experience, we have found our implementation of Acumatica to be easier than we expected.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, we do have significant complaints about Acumatica. I would say we would like to see more low-code/no-code workflow capabilities across the platform. Also, the security setup is complex (albeit powerful), so continuing to enhance the ease-of-use of the application security would be desirable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are leveraging Acumatica to be our primary accounting system as well as a basis for our operational client billing and management sytem in the Home Care industry. We are using the Field Service components along side of the project accounting aspects plus we are significantly extending the product with the Acumatica development platform. This is all to replace our heavily customized Dynamics SL system that we need to migrate away from.

NEW ACUMATICA USER MEDIUM SIZE COMPANY
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the ability to drill down into detail all the way to the original entry module. I like the cloud based software and the tabs in the project module have alot of good data. Relatively ease to use for an accountant, my project admin staff is struggling a bit to understand the nomenclature used and frankly at times it confused me.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not feel the reporting in ACUMATICA is well thought out. It does not appear to have been created by end users in mind. The canned reports are not often perid sensitive based, especially in the projects module. the purchase orders process is not ideal as if a line is not closed before marking the po complete, the line shows open in many areas of ACUMATICA. The proposal function is unappealing and customers have stated that is looks terrible. And if you are a construction company with alot of invoices and PO the AP module is not functional and an add on is required.
Well integration was tough mostly because we needed to integration PROCORE and we changed payroll providers as the same time and went to WFG. I would never recommend this to anyone but it had to be done.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to have ACUMATICA help solve our poor project reporting options in our old SAGE 300 program and have better access to detailed transactions and data than SAGE 300.
Best software that we've used in years
What do you like best about the product?
We like that Acumatica is consistantly releaseing major and minor updates and always striving to imporove their system. Their customization platform is also amazing. We have the ability to modify all parts of the system, adding fields, logic, screens in an upgrade safe way. We have minimal issues with our customizations conflicting with major updates. Customer support is also exceptional, the case portal is well organized and the responses are timely and they strive to stay on point to resolve the issue.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their Report Designer has many limitations which requires alot of creative thinking to get the results needed. General inquiries also have limitations but have improved with new releases. The Dashboards also have limitations and can be tempermental to work with and modify.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a separate ERP and CRM system befor switching to Acumatica. We used the CRM for Project Management and the ERP for Project Accounting. The two systems did not communicate with each other so all data from one to the other was hand keyed. With Acumatica, everything is in one software and makes our lives much easier. We can now focuse on the essentials like closing month end, before the next month end, completeing all billings before the cutoff dates, and researching ways to improve the system for our needs.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Acumatica is a filtering software. I can access several pieces of information just by filtering.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not knowing all the avenues I can use Acumatica. I suspect there are alot more features I can take advantage of. It appears to be learn as you go.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making our accounting become electronic. We are now able to have a better handle on reporting, etc. Other users have the ability to look for information themselves also, instead of contacting finance directly.
Acumatica for Construction
What do you like best about the product?
The thing i like about acumatica is its modularity towards different businesses. I work in contruction business and feel it has lot of common tools needed t oimprove the efficiency.

I feel sometimes there is diffence in background processing of how operations are done on different screen especially on the service module.

As company was growing we needed a system which could support the expansion and improve process effiency along the way.

Acumatica: Immense capabilities but void of what you'd expect right out of the box!

I'm into my 11th month using Acumatica and I can honestly say it's more expansive than any other platform I've seen before. I see great potential but...
What do you dislike about the product?
Acumatica is built with very large, multinational clients in mind. Picture Toyota for example. The kind of large corporation that has an entire building full of IT professionals who will design and customize every user facing screen the average employee might see. This is NOT a turnkey platform. It's the engine hidden underneath whatever glossy exterior you can imagine. The problem is, right out of the box, you don't even have that engine yet. You'll get the parts for that engine. And there's not "some" assembly required. It's ALL assembly is required! The nuts and bolts you need for that assembly are like a giant basket of scrabble tiles each containing a word that only software engineers can understand. You quickly find out your only option is to pay enormous sums of money just to make the engine run. Congrats, you now have the equivalent of a moped and you're trying to drive on the highway. So you pony up and ask them to assemble a car. It arrives but wait.. no wheels? I'm sorry, wheels are extra. I know this is a silly analogy, but it's pretty close. I'm an accountant with 25 years of experience. In all my travels, I've never come across software that's both so vast yet can't do the most basic things when you first install it. Acumatica kinda knew what a balance sheet was but I literally had to map out every single pixel before I could print out anything that resembles one!

Acumatica can do almost anything you want it to, but everything you ask of it will have to be programmed, step by step. Kinda like teaching it how to walk again every time you want a new pair of shoes!
Acumatica is Great!
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and navigation, Excellent Automation capability. Easy to Integrate with external order sources. We were able to implement on budget, and only 2 weeks behind our original schedule.
What do you dislike about the product?
Acumatica, being a newer ERP, is still developing functionality. Some functions are pretty bare-bones, like their WMS, and Manufacturing modules.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Acumatica helps with much better information flow, and automation than our previous ERP. We have much less manual data entry and can load much more information via integrations. AP and AR have been much easier to manage in Acumatica, and have many automation features saving us a lot of time and effort. Financials are much easier to build and edit than our old system.
Easy to use once the user is used to it and trains their eyes.
What do you like best about the product?
As an organization, we're moving from using 3 broken systems along with spreadsheets with no communication between them. This gets to be very combersome when trying to scale as a small to midsize business.

What do you dislike about the product?
I think their CRM needs some additional functionality. There isn't a native calendar unless we pay for their field service app. Tracking events and activities is done through the entries and visible through GI (Generic Inquiry) searching.
Most functionalities outside of the basic features will require a customization which can get to be very expensive when working with a reselling partner.
