Community
What do you like best about the product?
Tons of docs, videos and a jamf community unmatched by another MDM Vendor. If you have an issue its been fixed and if support can't help you the community will step up and help. Jamf meet ups are very helfpul as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
slow to response to feature requests. Not all MDM commands are available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provisioning time has been cut to around 20-25 minutes. Faster turn around for equipment deployment or replacement. This has led us with free time to focus on security enforcement deplyoying post-software.
Enterprise Solution for Apple
What do you like best about the product?
User interfaces are simple and polished. Self-service allows simplified non-technical user interaction in a way that typical management systems do not provide.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some specific granularities that require addressing, such as allowing multi-tenant access with the ability to manage software (without SuperAdmin rights).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vulnerability management, software delivery, reporting. Ease of management on/off network with the new cloud instance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is the most polished Apple management system available at the moment.
Managing Mobile Devices and App Deployment
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to push mobile device apps on a moment's notice for those last minute requests.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having to create all the device names manually. If the ipad is reset, the name that was used before does not stay with the device.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting devices in the hands of the users faster.
Being able to get into a device no matter who has used it
Being able to lockdown an ipad if it has been lost or stolen.

Reliable with a caveat
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Pro does mobile device management on all modern Apple devices and it does it reliably well. There's a reason they're the leader in this market.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their level 1 tech support is very hit or miss.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro allows me to deploy thousands of iPads and Macs with zero touch from me or my team. Jamf Pro also allows me to deploy apps, push configuration profiles, and send MDM commands to remote devices all with potentially zero user interaction. There is also a self service app available on iOS/iPadOS and MacOS for app deployment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do your research: Is Jamf Pro overkill for your organization?
Jamf Pro User friendly
What do you like best about the product?
That I can immediately deploy a package. If it's a pkg I can just create a policy and boom it's gone. If it's a dmg I can use composer to extract it and create a pkg or dmg file to deploy.
Easy to use interface and that you can change the checkin time so you can decide when changes take effect.

What do you dislike about the product?
Configuration profiles when removed leave lasting effects - it doesn't return changes to default like if you change the dock.
Doesn't automatically update inventory.
Applications made in composer easily get broken by latest updates.
Thin imaging has to be done and you no longer can build a whole image and just deploy that.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easily deploy updated software to lab computers. Benefits are in time. The advantage is you can keep adding software as opposed to waiting to build one whole image.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easy to use and does not need coding experience to get things done.
Fantastic MDM
What do you like best about the product?
The amount of features available allowing for easy management, like the ability to push out apps to our students and teachers seamlessly. This allows us to remove the App Store and the distractions it provides. We can also set different restrictions for staff and students based on their needs. Jamf has great online resources available for when you have questions. When contacting support, they are quick to get back to you and eager to find a solution to your problem.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are sometimes product issues that can make for time consuming work arounds. This is few and far between and support and the developers are always working to improve the platform. Also, the cost is a bit much; would like to see that drop a bit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All of our management problems. Jamf Pro makes things virtually touch free. From deployment, to restrictions, to policies, I can take care of almost everything without leaving my office. I have realized that it would be almost impossible to do my job without Jamf.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Honestly, I don't think there is an MDM that can match Jamf. The support and easy of use of the product make it unbeatable. Don't hesitate, this is the right MDM to go with.
Jamf is simple and powerful

What I like best about Jamf is it's ease of use. Once its all set up, it makes it very simple to find devices and act on them.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are several user interface issues that make working on particular actions more tedious than it needs to be.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Total management of Macs and iPads for security and uniformity.
Good Job Jamf!
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease in which you can install Apps for ios devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish we had the option of selecting multiple policies/config profiles to apply when we are viewing a smart group.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Standardizing deployment of MacBooks and iMacs, controlling what apps are installed on iPads has definitely been beneficial.
Powerful MDM with frustrating support
What do you like best about the product?
Device management! Simple payload creation/deployment. Supervision of devices and my simple favorite "Prevent Activation Lock" Ha! My college has been increasing their purchasing of iPads and Prior to Jamf we were using Profile Manager, that was rough. We've been using Jamf for about a year now and over all it's been great!
What do you dislike about the product?
We've had a few very frustrating support tickets. In one case regarding LDAP created user accounts not being able to login the support team in short kept reply with illogical troubleshooting and it took about a month to get elevated to a team who could actually log into our Jamf Pro instance and troubleshoot. To shorten the story our configs and ACLs were correct there was a patch released that solved the problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Management of mobile devices and streamlining deployment. Automation of FileVault 2 and storing of keys as well as software deployment made easy for various lab environments with PreStage enrollments.
