Needs and suggestions for improvement on structures

  • November 18, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Best part is push notification duplicate option in my opinion. Except for companies with very niche needs, I generally consider onesignal to be an adequate service for all companies and/or individuals who want to deliver their push notification and content to users.
What do you dislike about the product?
We cannot determine the number of lines we can see on a single page. (In the Push Notifications page)
The lines on the Push Notifications page may be thinner, for now each line is unnecessarily thick.
There is no mobile app, we have to use the browser when we have to handle our tasks on the phone, which is a bad thing.
While installing push, we have to manually enter texts for different languages, we cannot automatically fill in all of our desired languages by importing an excel file.
While creating a push notification, we cannot see and select colors in the LED Color and Accent Color sections on the android side. Why do we have to learn the color code from outside and come to onesignal page again?
Push notifications calendar only works with 12 hour schedule (am & pm), why there is no 24 hour support in settings?
There is no practical drag-and-drop support for the images we will add to the push notifications page.
After creating the push, we want to go directly to the Messages page, but the system redirects to a new page and shows the details of the push we just created on this page, which causes a waste of time. They can add this as an option in the settings.
The site has only English language support, more options should be added. Shouldn't be difficult to a professional company like OneSignal.
While creating push, we have to scroll down on the page many times in order to do all the settings, the design of the elements here and the weakness in the use of space cause speed loss.
When we click on the "Send To Test Device" button while creating a push, we have to scroll to the right because the pop-up that opens is small. They can remake an enough size of the pop-up so that we can see everything without scrolling.
When sending push, we have to upload the same image repeatedly to both the ios and android parts, there is no setting where we can automatically upload the same image to both.
The service crashes more often than we can accept.
Push notifications that are set forward by selecting the time remain as "scheduled" status recent days. (They wrote that they were working as a team on this issue, but they still didn't implement a solution.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had an app key loss problem related to our application continuously on the google android configure page, onesignal support unit held a meeting with us and dealt with the problem specifically, and resolved the issue with backend support. It is very valuable to get support from a person instead of drowning in F.A.Q pools that do not answer your questions, so I am satisfied with the attention of the engineers working in the user support unit.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Although it has shortcomings, it is a service that you can choose blindly for push notification for now. I believe it will improve over time.

Great but there are some things to work on

  • November 18, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Clear, intuitive interface, minimalistic nice design.
I am happy to be able to preview messages and duplicate old ones. Insight into recipient statistics and which messages were clicked the most.
Possibility to add emojis and graphics, option to set sending push messages long-term. History of sent messages and the possibility of comparing them and preparing documentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the page is too slow and I have to take quite a long time for it to load and the number of sort options is sometimes too limited, there could be more options.
Sometimes I find it difficult to locate older messages. and the date system is a bit inconvenient to use (order year-month-day).
These are minor things, but if you fix it, it could make OneSignal even more enjoyable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Increase the interest of recipients. It allows us to find out what people are interested in in our project and what forms of communication are effective. More people became interested in our product and our players are more involved in our game.
If we make any changes to the game, we can easily communicate it to our players.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The best application for communicating with customers, great for communicating with the news.
Easy to use, you can learn it very quickly without any problems. Even beginners can handle it. You can add your own graphics and check the statistics of delivered messages even over a longer period of time. The ability to send messages in different languages of the world.

Good but can be better.

What do you like best about the product?
It's great. The interface is clean and intuitive, I like the option of duplicating previously sent messages and setting a specific delivery time. I also really like the preview screen. I also like the ease of use of OneSignal. Is's amazingly simple and work with it is easy and goes quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes pretty laggy to the point i can't do anything, even make duplicate of previous message and shedule it. A few times website was down what was a lil bit stressful becouse i can't make sure that all messages was sheduled, that was preety stressfull. And I miss more searching and sorting options for already sent messages. I think that this app needs the library of the most frequently sent messages by the user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It boosts the interest in the app and makes more moove inside of it. It notifies users about new and exciting features and events and on top of that it makes the game more engaging and fun. It is an excellent app if your work is based on IT solutions and a way of communication with clients.

Simple and user-friendly platform with wonderful people in support!

  • November 17, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The platform is simple and easy to use – you can start sending notifications just a couple of minutes after logging in. I really like the documentation pages as they provide step-by-step instructions and explanations for most features. Also, most of the support does a great job – Jon has helped me to solve the issue I was struggling with for a long time.
What do you dislike about the product?
The simplicity of the platform is also a disadvantage – it lacks some features that could be useful, e.g., user path planning tool with all the other features included (I know it's in development), automatic retargeting, or test cloning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I managed to make the notifications more attractive by using, e.g., rich media, and to time them better with the intelligent delivery feature. I also noticed that thanks to the help of OneSignal Customer Success Team and the support, I improved the performance of my notifications in general which positively influences the retention rates.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for an easy-to-use notification tool with quite a lot of possibilities and excellent support, that's the one.

Easy and convienient push management

  • November 17, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the possibility to run AB tests, the in-app messages feature and all the options it offers, the new journey feature and that I can check detailed data about our users through OneSignal.
What do you dislike about the product?
The number of users displayed on the dashboard shows all users who have ever installed our games (even if they have just opened it once 4 years ago). The in-apps could be improved as well - e.g. the buttons in vertical view could be shortened and put one next to the other, as they take up half the screen.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are reducing the drop-out rate and increasing retention by sending automated retention notifications. I realized that push notifications have a way of making the users more engaged in our app.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think OneSignal is worth considering if you want to manage your push notifications in a simple and organized manner and receive a great amount of support from the OS team

A strong product with some issues around stability and analytics

  • November 16, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The platform is clear and intuitive, with a clean design which helps train users fast and get them producing content immediately. The options around scheduling and sending (particularly Intelligent Delivery) are comprehensive and extremely useful when used alongside the Segmentation tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Increasingly the platform is unavailable due to server problems and errors have been a relatively consistent complaint from editorial teams. Particularly in the busier parts of the year this can really throw off plans and significantly reduces our ability to drive immediate traffic to content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to deliver key content to users extremely quickly and help build initial interest in articles in a more immediate, personal way - free from the influence of social or search engine algorithms.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Explore options around custom subscription prompting and data tagging in order to fully utilise the capabilities of the Segmentation tools, which can be a little lacklustre without proper development resource.

I like how easy to use and straightforward it is.
What do you dislike about the product?
