Simple, Predictable Microsoft 365 Backup with Unlimited Storage and Robust Recovery
Reviewed on Aug 28, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup stands out primarily for its simplicity, cost predictability, and robust data resilience tailored for Microsoft 365 environments. Its most compelling advantage is its all-inclusive licensing model, which provides unlimited cloud storage and unlimited retention per user without hidden fees or capacity overage penalties. Because it is entirely SaaS-based and cloud-native, it eliminates the need for on-premises infrastructure, allowing administrators to deploy it in minutes with a true "set-and-forget" workflow.
The platform offers comprehensive coverage across the entire Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Groups, and Entra ID. It provides fast, granular search and recovery tools, allowing IT teams to pinpoint and restore anything from a single lost email or document to full site structures and mailboxes with point-in-time accuracy.
Security and ransomware protection are deeply integrated, featuring immutable backups to prevent malicious tampering, AES 256-bit encryption in transit and at rest, multi-factor authentication, role-based access controls, and delayed cloud purging to safeguard against accidental or rogue deletions.

What do you dislike about the product?
From an IT operations standpoint, while Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup covers the basics for Microsoft 365, it introduces several real bottlenecks that impact day-to-day administration and disaster recovery workflows.
The biggest issue I see is restore throughput and recovery time objectives (RTO). When we need to pull back a single deleted email or file, it gets the job done, but restoring large mailboxes, massive SharePoint libraries, or entire user directories can be painfully slow and prone to API throttling. In an active incident or full tenant recovery scenario, those delays turn into serious downtime.
The platform is also heavily siloed. Because it is strictly built around the Microsoft 365 stack, it lacks the multi-SaaS flexibility or hybrid support needed if our environment expands beyond Microsoft into other cloud platforms or on-prem workloads.
From a management and administrative perspective, the console experience leaves a lot to be desired. Navigating deep folder trees and finding specific historical revisions often feels clunky and sluggish, with the occasional interface lag or session timeout.
The scheduling and policy configuration options feel too rigid for complex compliance demands. We don't get the granular control over tiered retention policies, custom backup windows, or automated alerting and deep diagnostics that higher-end enterprise tools provide. Instead of trusting robust automated reporting, we are forced to spend extra time manually verifying job health and status.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup solves the critical operational risk of relying solely on native Microsoft 365 data retention, which was never designed as a true disaster recovery or immutable backup solution. It directly closes vulnerabilities around accidental user deletions, corrupted SharePoint sites, malicious internal tampering, and ransomware encryption by keeping an air-gapped, immutable copy of our Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams data outside Microsoft’s primary infrastructure. It also eliminates the headaches of hidden storage costs, complex tiering, and capacity caps through its unlimited storage and retention model, allowing our organization to forecast budget without worrying about data sprawl or unexpected overage fees.
From my perspective, this translates into massive operational time savings and genuine peace of mind in our day-to-day administration. Because it is a fully cloud-native, set-and-forget platform, I do not have to spend cycles managing on-premises hardware, patching backup appliances, or juggling complex capacity planning. When tickets come in for accidentally purged emails, lost documents, or deleted Teams channels, having granular, point-in-time search and recovery means I can quickly locate and restore specific assets directly to the user without disrupting the broader environment. Ultimately, it frees me from babysitting basic backup infrastructure while giving me confidence that our business-critical Microsoft 365 footprint is protected and compliant.

Simplistic Setup and Great Value, Barracuda Was Easy to Get Going.

What do you like best about the product?
It was very simplistic, all we had to do was sync our tenant to it and it was good to go. We tried evaluating other softwares but in terms of cost and ease of setting up, nothing was beating Barracuda.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not believe the granularity is there that some other products such as Microsoft 365 have where you can select specific users but other than that, no complaints!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to back up just about everything we need to in one spot, easily was a HUGE savor for us.
