Great CDP for healthcare companies
What do you like best about the product?
We are a healthcare company, and Rudderstack is the best CDP we found that is HIPAA compliant. The pricing is competitive and they've built out many connections. We found that it works very similarly to Segment which was nice for our engineering team.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation around transformations for PHI could be improved a bit and we had one connection that was missing that was pretty important to us (we set it up via webhook + transformation ourselves instead).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Piping data between tools for marketing and analytics purposes. It also allows us to remove PHI before piping information into tools that we don't have a BAA with (e.g. Amplitude).

Reduce the Dev lift to maintain your data pipeline
What do you like best about the product?
The UX is simple, and once the engineers understand the work to be done, implementation is quick. There are many out of the box integrations as well; you'll probably find what you need.
What do you dislike about the product?
In spite of the helpful people on the RS team, it's still taken us longer than we expected to get the pipeline set up and events flowing through. Also due to the sheer volume of events that we have, only a parallel implementation strategy would work. If you used RS from the get-go, you'd be better off.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were experiencing bottlenecks with part of our Eng pipeline when it came to analytics events. By shifting to RS, our backend resources will no longer be a blocker.
Fantastic tool with an amazing group of people behind it!
What do you like best about the product?
Two things come to mind:
Their event-based pricing model gives you a lot more flexibility in using it for different kinds of sources (website, apps, third-party tools) since you're not blowing throw MTUs unnecessarily.
Their transformation feature is simply a JavaScript function, meaning you can do just about anything you need to without being limited by what a GUI offers.

What do you dislike about the product?
While their ETL service offering has a decently sized catalog, they do not have ERDs for the extracted data schemas in their documentation. This leads to some digging into the raw extracted data to get started first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It simplifies event data collection instrumentation, the integration of 3rd party tools, both client and server side, and helps ensure a single source of truth for all data.
Phenomenally simple and incredibly powerful.
What do you like best about the product?
It's incredibly simple to get going and handles a huge amount of data for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit technical, and the documentation doesn't always match up with the way that things work. This seems to be a symptom of a fast-moving product team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We connect all of our analytics and user-driven event data to RudderStack, driving our notifications, user data and insights, and third party services.
Rudderstack changed the game for me regarding how to track data
What do you like best about the product?
The idea of having one source to rule many other destinations was just game-changing for me. And the versatility of destinations and sources is great. Also a big shoutout to the Slack community support guys. I think with such a complex tool it comes down to support really quickly, and I got answers pretty quickly always and they were helpful most of the time.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is slight confusion in the schema, sometimes you use anonymousId sometimes clientId in context to pull the clientId from. sometimes you use page.url sometimes properties.url to pull URL data. Ergo, a better schema consistency across multiple destinations would be great, so we would not have to tweak additional values for each destination, although we already have them (I am aware of the transformations, but still there is sometimes confusion in the logic).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can quickly try out or change a destination and are more platform agnostic. Setting up all the events for each destination is a hassle which Rudderstack eliminates to some degree for us.
Reliable, cost effective CDP
What do you like best about the product?
The Rudderstack Dashboard is very easy to use and intuitive. We found the migration to Rudderstack from our previous CDP to be very fast and easy. And we've been very impressed with their technical support offered through a Slack workspace, as well as a dedicated account rep who immediately made themselves available through a Slack connect channel.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see some additional features around data integrity and data governance. I've previously raised with the Rudderstack team, and have been informed that they such features are under active development 🙌
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rudderstack makes it easy for us to connect our core applications to our data warehouse, transform our data in transit, and integrate other third-party marketing services into our stack with minimal engineering effort.
Great product
What do you like best about the product?
We've been using rudderstack for the better part of a year now and it's been running really stable (self hosted kubernetes). Adding new destinations is trivial, it simplified our tracking setup so much I honestly can't figure out a way to build a product without a tool like Rudderstack.
What do you dislike about the product?
The JS SDK is not 100% bug free and when something doesn't work as expected you have to consider the possibility that it is a bug on the SDK side. Fortunately it is open source and well-written. Also when bugs are reported they are fixed so fast that I don't need to fork and fix it myself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Instead of writing specific code to get our events to destinations as mixpanel, FB, google, pinterest, bing, etc etc etc, we just send it to Rudderstack and their ecommerce api handles the rest. If marketing wants to add another platform we just add the destination and no other dev work is needed.
Many data sources to many destinations, no code.
What do you like best about the product?
Need the basic code for transferring data between sources and destinations, good documentation, good support, and several SDK available.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe the API no available for Free accounts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Get the track users from the application and send to datalake
Easy to use, fast support and excellent value for money!
What do you like best about the product?
Its usability, the fast and reliable support (especially compared to similar companies I've worked with in the past).
But mostly, we a huge fan of the ETL which allows us to build multiple complex SQL-based audiences in Redshift and then sync with our marketing automation platform.

What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to be totally honest. But if I had to pick something, I would like to see more sources/desinations added to their profile.
Including Eloqua, and Microsoft SQL Server (ETL).
Email alerts on destination failed events.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building customer segmentations to then send to downstream destinations.
Managing data pipelines across three websites.
Limiting the amount of JS on our websites by funneling web events to destinations such as Hotjar.

Rudderstack is reliable and great value for money.
What do you like best about the product?
Rudderstack was super helpful and generous during the pre-sales process and has continued to be supportive to their customer base through their community forums.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like more integrations and transparency of which integrations they're working on in the future. I'd like them to continue building out their documentation and keeping it up to date. I'd also like to see more business case examples showing best practice of their tools for inspiration in different business areas.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rudderstack is helping us with cross-platform user identity resolution, application event tracking and creating a consistent and easy way to sync user and account properties against our business systems.
