Great CMS!
What do you like best about the product?
It is so simple to use. The content delivery API is so easy to use and very full featured. The UI extensions are great.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not as extensible as other options like ContentStack. It doesnt have a full featured Rich Text field yet.

A CMS for our ecommerce website.
Great Headless CMS
What do you like best about the product?
Contentful is GREAT at modeling content. It's awesome to be able to model your content to represent your actual content and deliver it via simple SDK's and leave the rendering of that content to your web application, mobile app, etc... It also makes re-using content really simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to see more built-in field types. The new rich text editor is pretty good, but is missing things that are required for it to be truly useful in a web app setting.
Also, with lots of content, the content editor can be a little overwhelming. You can save custom views which is basically just a single content type filter. Would be great to be able to create views that combine several related types of content, filter by a property, etc...

Right now we're utilizing Contentful for our non-profit's web site. The big benefits have been independence from developers and ease of content entry. It's also extremely fast!
A breeze to create content in Contentful
What do you like best about the product?
User Interface: The UI is a breeze to use; it took 10 minutes to really navigate the platform.
Training: It was easy for me as the project lead to train our staff, interns and our volunteer who is a mature adult (>50 years old).
Localization: Adding additional languages is also very easy!

What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't come across any dislikes yet, to be very honest!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This is the first platform we've used to organize content for our mobile app; before Contentful we had an ancient custom portal which was clunky and frankly, outdated. The benefits are endless!
Fast to get started, great developer resources and removes our worries of content infrastructure
What do you like best about the product?
Getting started was very quick. We don’t have to worry about security updates, fixing issues that cause downtime, or managing the global network that serves the CDA. We don’t have to worry about developing/supporting the core features of the CMS UI, and a lot of what we need exists in Contentful as standard fields or UI patterns. Over the lifespan of our project, we have constantly noticed improvements in functionality and admin/editing UI. The continuous development of Contentful is evident with daily use. The CMA is also quite nice, offering clear verification steps during migrations that make for good record keeping.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some developer-facing tools/docs are lacking, but that has improved over time. Still, it can be difficult to find the docs you need unless you know the terminology you’re searching for (e.g. UI Extension SDK). Building more relational queries in a single request (i.e. using GraphQL) would be very nice, but that function only comes at very high price tiers. Multilingual data entry UI really needs improvement. For a site that supports many languages the UI becomes unmanageable with duplicated fields everywhere. Although Contentful is often marketed as a “backend-free” solution, any amount of customization to the existing CMS patterns involves some backend work, either within the consumer app or with the CMA doing migrations and so forth.

We built a content publishing system. We have rapidly evolved a legacy system of PDF downloads to a modern, mobile-friendly CMS.
Great flexibility and value, odd at first
What do you like best about the product?
Model creation with the available wide variety of field types is great.
The basic Markdown text field editor covers lots of use cases.
Resizing images by just adding optional query parameters to the URL is magic.
The content model is very flexible.

What do you dislike about the product?
The Contentful content model is flexible, I'd even say too flexible for a simple paged website. It takes a while to grasp the Contentful-way of thinking about content. Not being able to categorize Models hurts in discoverability and creates a mess that can only be salvaged by namespacing them (e.g. "Page - Home ", "Page - About ") and then filtering ("Save as view" helps a lot here).
It doesn't seem as easy to edit for laypeople as say WordPress, but I can't back that up.
Multilanguage editing view could be improved I feel, displaying all languages at once can be overwhelming.

Built a non-profit flyer-type website.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take a while to read the documentation regarding content modelling and think through your content architecture carefully.
Flexible, feature-rich development tool
What do you like best about the product?
Contentful has a really nice ecosystem of SDKs, APIs and associated tools to support integration, automation and developer experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a good deal of documentation available online, but it's somewhat difficult to navigate & fragmented (developer portal, API reference, forum, etc.) Docs could do with some tidying up & iA oversight.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to augment content metadata published from an inflexible master system of record without the overhead of having to introduce a 'heavyweight' CMS. We can leverage Contentful's management API to push update messages to Contentful, have content editors apply metadata updates, and then leverage Contentful's rich webhook integration options to push updates to a production cache of content metadata.
I love contentful
What do you like best about the product?
i like that contentful is very user friendly
What do you dislike about the product?
i dislike that sometime the pages take a while to load
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
streamlining processes and optimizing workflow
Great for updating website content
What do you like best about the product?
It is a very user-friendly method of having website content edited instantly.
We have used other website CMS to edit content, all of which are not as intuitive as Contentful, so we were really glad our website developer provided us with this software for on-going changes. From updating photos to written content, Contently keeps track of everything - should you need to revert any changes, you can just pick and choose which version to return to and publish.

What do you dislike about the product?
One of the things I dislike is that it is very complicated to figure out how to add widgets and pop-ups from other services we utilize like Constant Contact and MailChimp. Also, when setting up Google Analytics, we continue receiving error messages, but so far Google Analytics has been able to deliver a report - now I am wondering of how accurate this report has been.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The system is very easy to figure out in terms of creating content updates, so long as your website development has set it up following in a comprehensive order, like all tools, the person who initiates using the tool is also the person who sets the president of how this tool will be utilized by the rest of the team. I recommend it over other CRMs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are having your website developed, it is always useful to know which CRM they use, Contentful and WordPress are the top two - if you are handed any other CRM option, make sure the person who will be making future changes to the site receives a comprehensive training.
