Amazing service with amazing customer support

  • September 25, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The tool is incredibly easy to use, instinctive but the customer support you receive is what impresses me the most. I always get the help I need.
What do you dislike about the product?
I cannot say that I dislike anything about Braze. It's saved me so much time and frustration from previous tools we had in the past.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time-saving. Efficiency. Reporting is so much easier. A/B testing is also great.

Highly recommend

What do you like best about the product?
Once we launched our first campaign through Braze, we haven't stopped. It's super easy to get campaigns up and running, set conversion goals, and measure impact. You can communicate with your customers across email, push, in-app, and content card integrations. If you're looking for a customer engagement platform for your app, I'd suggest considering them as a partner. On top of the tool itself, we've found our reps to be fantastic -- always helping us figure out how we can further leverage all the offerings of the tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
As of now, we tend to measure most of our conversion events using custom events through mParticle. This is not always a robust enough solution, so our Analytics team will often need to do a deep dive to get more detailed results.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can't rely on product alone to push users through the funnel. Braze has become a solution for that, and we seen lift against the control for nearly all of our campaigns -- so it's easy to justify the cost of the tool!

Data Friendly

  • September 19, 2019

What do you like best about the product?
Braze has been one of the most pleasant ESPs to use. Extracting and importing data is very smooth and the team is very reactive when building new metrics into reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
Deferral rates are a metric that you have to pay extra for but our customer support rep was nice enough to tell us initially.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Retention and engagement with new users. We have realized it is easy to send triggered canvases and extract insights about segments.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider how you want to communicate with your users and how you plan to setup these touch points. It will help with your on-boarding process.

Tooling integrations are great, but need to target more granular audiences

  • September 17, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Support at Braze is phenomenal at getting into the weeds of debugging issues and stepping into the shoes of our implementation.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few drawbacks we face due to our company's technical implementation of Braze that prevent us from relying on Braze native assets and documentation to educate the company on how to effectively leverage the tool. Apart from the limitations tied to our technical implementation of Braze, we also experience a gap in the tool's usage when it comes to creating very unique audiences that require pairing multiple property combinations to one event that a user may take in any given digital funnel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are nurturing our digital clients at the right time in their digital journey based on our Segment instrumented data tracking a variety of user interactions on webpages and within product experiences. We are also able to analyze all Braze interaction events alongside our every day Segment data in Amplitude analyses.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Know your data. You need to understand what data your company is tracking on digital clients, then you need to analyze that data in a visual report to digest it and understand where users are dropping off in the predefined funnel journeys and where there are opportunities for experimentation.

Automation

Don't just engage customer, connect

  • September 16, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Braze enables us to connect with customers directly in-app or on email at the most opportune points and time in their journey based off of usage data and behaviors. And their canvas allows us to plan, visualize and orchestrate the customer experience from beginning to end.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Braze can optimize the message medium based on performance, we don't use a lot of the existing capabilities and channels, and need additional tech build outs and workarounds for unique B2B use cases. I wish we could use some of the underutilized features, when they fit our enterprise needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Conversion- increases in ARR
Adoption- more usage and consumption
Retention- cross sells
Churn Reduction- reengagements with early measures

Great one-stop shop but difficult to adopt in large company

  • September 11, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Braze is good at managing multiple campaigns simultaneously. It is easy to draft, start, stop, modify, restart, and archive campaigns — the interface is attractive and the campaign creation/management process is pretty intuitive. Collaboration is a strong feature although the dashboard can get messy when a large company holds a single account for dozens of different campaigns.

Targeting options are very sophisticated. Braze uses both event and analytics data from our offerings to let us choose the exact cohort we want to hit. Delivery triggers are similar, but depending on instrumentation of the offering our delivery timing may not be optimal. (We rarely get this right on the first pass.)

Braze has built-in analytics charts and statistics. We use them to get quick insights about campaigns, but feed the data into a third-party tool to understand the results in overall business contexts. Smaller shops may not need to do this, but it is essential when comparing and contrasting multiple data sources and analytics generators.

Overall Braze has a lot of functionality and can serve as a one-stop shop for marketing automation, but because I work for a large company we have yet to fully adopt Braze as we have other tools that are better integrated with our existing systems and processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
One limitation is that once campaigns are launched, Braze does not allow changing conversion events. They do this to maintain data integrity, but in many of our use cases, this does not make sense. However, it is still fairly simple to copy the campaign and then change the conversion event and relaunch. This does mean that we have to sum data to fully see results.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a demand gen marketer using Braze to nurture marketing prospects exclusively through in-app messages as we use a proprietary marketing automation tool to send emails. Due to the reporting issue stated above, we have yet to prove end-to-end business impact/effectiveness from our Braze campaigns, e.g. our Braze campaigns show strong "conversion" but we have yet to show that trial registrants are converting at a higher rate.

Braze for email and marketing analytics

  • July 12, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Braze has email, inapp pop-ups, push notifications, and streamlined "paths" called canvases which make the platform very comprehensive and good for medium to enterprise businesses.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are little quirks that can get annoying, like it won't let you move from step to step while editing a campaign (you have to click through one by one to get through to the final one).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps set up all our mobile and desktop marketing needs. It takes a lot of getting used to but after about a month of extensive use, you realize how much of a powerful tool it is.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't be overwhelmed when you first start using the platform. Their customer success department is also very helpful and will be there to guide you and troubleshoot through problems.
