Hands Down the Best Workflow Automation

  • October 30, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We've been using Tines for quite some time. Before Tines, we had a very complex open-source project that we customized to fit our needs. However, the management, knowledge, and resources required were problematic. Bugs were tough to trace, data wasn't easy to munge, and it just wasn't easy to visualize.

With Tines, we were able to migrate everything into a beautiful Tines actions that are very easy to understand and follow. The best part is we can quickly and easily extend functionality much quicker than before. And with the built in Live/Test Change Control feature, it's been flawless in testing our workflows before we push them to production.

Not to mention, their customer teams are amazing and top notch! They have always been friendly, welcoming and supportive!

Everything is well documented with multiple samples/examples, not to mention the Tines Story Library! That's a wealth of information.

All in all, we're with Tines for the long haul and I'm glad we are.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest downside to using Tines is that you want to try and find a way to automate everything through Tines.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tines is the glue that sticks our processes together. From SlackOps to integrating with our ticketing systems, Google Workspace, to even customer and engagement management. It makes us way more efficient.

What do you like best about the product?
That it is very easy to get started and with little effort you are able to implement very nice stories (automations), but that does not mean it is simple, if you have the knowledge you can complicate stories as much as you want.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much we do not like, in fact maybe the amount of new features is a bit overwhelming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before deciding to purchase tines we tested or had meetings with the SOAR leaders, and we finally decided to go with tines for several reasons:

- It was cheaper
- It was more flexible

Indeed you can't use it out of the box, but we liked the tradeoff and the challenge. All the team has learned a lot because of developing stories or story parts on tines.

Tines has been an amazing product to work with.

Excellent Automation Platform With Infinite Potential

  • September 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Going from idea to functional prototype takes no time at all. Getting elegant solutions implemented quickly is where it really shines. Support is responsive and product development is very active. Additionally, there is maturing ecosystem of public stories and documentation available on the web.
What do you dislike about the product?
Core components of the user interface can be clunky or difficult to navigate. Getting into a natural flow of building stories can prove difficult. Additionally, coming from a developer background, aclimating to Tines can be frustrating. Tendencies to solve problems programatically must be unlearned or re-adapted to Tines event execution flow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Tines to build out self service workflows for our customers. This has significantly alleviated ticket volume and freed up cycles on the team for other projects.

How Tines Helped Us Run Our Service 24/7

  • September 24, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One of the most helpful features of Tines is its ability to reliably process large volumes of data. With Tines, we can easily call out to Elastic Security Alerts and handle hundreds, or even thousands, of alerts daily. It allows us to deduplicate, gather context through APIs like VirusTotal, and significantly reduces the time spent manually creating cases and querying threat intel platforms.

As a developer, the thing that I like best about Tines is the ability to debug if there is a problem or failure, with the 'Logs' and 'Events' sections. I'm able to quickly discern what the issue is and where it lies. As well as the layer of abstractions from coding- making it accessible to all members of the team allowing us to collaborate together. Making note of the 'Automatic Transform Mode' action that allows you to provide an input and prompt, cutting down my developing time.

Finally, the lovely people who work at Tines are constantly listening, giving suggestions and improvements to our story development and making sure we feel that our opinions are heard and listened to. Shout out to Eoin, Paula and Paul!
What do you dislike about the product?
Tines does have some areas that they could improve on, such as SLAs (which is now currently in motion), user interface refinements, and the need for built-in messaging capabilities from a case for platforms like Teams or Slack instead of us having to build it manually in a story. However, Tines is very open to feature requests, and we’ve seen firsthand how those suggestions have turned into actual product updates- with a quick turnaround. For example, immutable records are now available, and there have been substantial improvements in the UI for cases, including custom case statuses and case fields.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The key problem that Tines allows us to solve is our lack of time.

Tines enables us to correlate all of this data into a readable case efficiently. It also allows us to tie many platforms we use internally, like Opsgenie, Teams etc and create a chain of communicating with their API's- again saving us the manual time we would've done before and allowing us to operate as a 24/7 vendor. We have built logic that processes alerts raised in Elastic and that is run through our Threat Intel Story which analyses and triages giving us a criticality score. This benefits us by giving us the room to take on more customers.

"Save time" and "focus on what really matters" are back on the menu

  • September 23, 2024

What do you like best about the product?
TLDR: Tines is a must-have tool if you want to save time and focus in what really matters.
Tines is a powerful tool that allows our team to focus on more strategic activities. It excels in automating workflows, which not only saves time but greatly improves the quality of our work and enable us to add more intelligence and knowledge to the alerts we receive. Consequently, we can resolve issues quicker and effectively.
Tines has been particularly beneficial in creating and managing detection rules. Our team can concentrate on the bigger picture, developing more sophisticated detection strategies and improving overall security posture. The interface is clean and user friendly, no coding knowledge required. Its like lego building blocks but for security geeks. It is simple in its core but with flexibility in handling complex workflows that ensures that we can adapt it to our specific needs. The large library of templates and uses cases its a perfect starter and to get creative juices flowing of what to automate next.
We do get stuck sometimes and here is the other part that shines: excellent customer support. They are constantly helping us maximize the tool’s potential. Tines is an exceptional automation tool that has transformed the way me and the team approach our work. Its ease of use, integration capabilities, and great customer support makes it a must-have for any team looking to enhance their efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far. Of course, like every other software tool, it might have things I can conside odd but then Tines' super support team jumps to resolve my doubts and explain the approach needed for Tines to do what I want it to do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Excels in automating workflows saving us time.
Creating and managing detection rules is a breeze and our team can concentrate on the bigger picture, developing more sophisticated detection strategies.
Enable us to add more intelligence to the alerts we receive. Time is cut from jumping to get more context from other tools.
Resolve alerts quicker and effectively.
It greatly improves the quality of our work.
No coding knowledge required, just a few building blocks to learn. This greatly cuts training time. Also, it is easier to make other teams interested in the tool, which in turns makes easier to justify the cost of the tool to stakeholders.
The flexibility in handling complex workflows ensures that different teams and verticals can adapt it to their own specific needs
Excellent customer support that helps to enhance the ideas our teams bring forward.

Tines has transformed our approach to InfoSec GRC automation. Its intuitive interface and powerful integrations have allowed us to automate repetitive GRC tasks, especially with evidence collection for both internal and external audits & assessments. This tool plays a crucial role in achieving our GRC engineering goals, making it an invaluable resource in enhancing our overall security and governance processes.
What do you dislike about the product?

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automating evidence collection from various tools, automated compliance mappings using AI

Workflow automation made easy

What do you like best about the product?
Tines is the best automation tool I've used. I like the user-friendly UI and features like Send to Story, Records and Pages.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the Pages feature offered more robust capabilities to allow users create a bit more complex apps.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tines is helping us orchestrate data exchange between various internal services. Tines helped us eliminate a number of manual work streams such as copying and pasting data in and from Google Sheets, manage Salesforce and Jira cases, manage comms via Slack and run ETL data into and from Snowflake.

Simple effective and really user-friendly

  • August 30, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Tines is their support team. They are always incredibly helpful and, most importantly, fast. I even had a Zoom call with them once to solve a specific issue, and that level of personalized support really enhances the overall experience with the tool. When I first started using Tines, I interacted with their support team daily, and they consistently provided quick, accurate solutions. They not only resolved the issues but also ensured I fully understood how to implement the solution, which is something I greatly appreciated.

Another major advantage of Tines is that it allows you to accomplish a lot of work with minimal technical knowledge. Although I have a background in computer science, my experience with other tools has shown me that Tines is much simpler and more effective. It enables me to automate complex workflows without needing extensive coding skills, which is a huge benefit for professionals at all levels. The combination of simplicity and efficiency makes Tines one of my favorite tools, if not my absolute favorite, for automating processes in my daily work.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the things I dislike about Tines is that when working with run script events, I really miss having a more advanced integrated development environment (IDE). I understand that Tines is not intended to function as a traditional development tool, but having a more robust script editor would be very helpful when building more complex workflows. Features like autocomplete, more advanced syntax highlighting, or better error handling could significantly enhance the experience of writing and debugging code directly within the platform.

Additionally, I’ve noticed that the interface occasionally freezes, requiring a page refresh for changes to be reflected. While this isn’t a major issue, it can be confusing at times, as it seems like changes aren’t being saved or applied properly. Improving the interface’s stability would help avoid these minor, yet frustrating, disruptions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tines helps us solve the challenge of integrating various tools and platforms into one seamless workflow. We use Tines to connect our messaging platform with other tools, allowing us to centralize communications and actions. For example, we can create comments in external tools directly from our messaging platform, ensuring that everything stays in one place. Additionally, we automate task creation for our teams, assigning tasks through Tines by simply filling out a form. One of the biggest benefits is the ability to generate PDF reports from our tools automatically, eliminating the need for manual report creation.

Tines has also enabled us to integrate and automate workflows between tools that don't have native integrations. This flexibility has significantly improved our efficiency across multiple areas of our work, allowing us to streamline processes, reduce manual tasks, and improve overall productivity.
