Workflow Building At It's Finest
What do you like best about the product?
I'll be honest; it's a lot of information to process when using the platform for the first time. But knowing that Tines support team are always there 100% can easily assist you and guide you on how to build a workflow to your exact liking.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since I'm a beginner to the Tines platform, I would say not being familiar with the functions, tools, and verbiage when creating your own story. However, working with Tines support and enough practice I'm sure I'll be able to overcome that blocker.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem that Tines is solving for me is that we currently have a different automation platform that isn't cutting it while Tines allows us to build our very own story to the way we want it vs the way it's provided.

Flexible & Scalable for Any Use Case
What do you like best about the product?
Tines can be used by engineers with low comfort coding and engineers who love to build complex systems. There's flexibility to how you approach your own "no code" setup. This allows it to be approachable by security engineers but also folks in other departments. Tines also continues to push out features asked for by customers in record time. Any feature that you need, they'll consider building (not just putting on a roadmap for two years from now).
What do you dislike about the product?
Tines did not have all the features that I initially wanted when onboarding but since that point they've seriously upped their feature list.
Another downside is there isn't a way to complete code reviews for design similar to how PRs work within Github. This can lead to sloppy or confusing story development.

Tines is solving our need for a security automation tool but outside of that we've built more complex engineering workflows to replace running scripts in a Lambda for processing of data / alerts / etc.
Complex automation made easy
What do you like best about the product?
Our security team has always dreamed of automating repetitive tasks and hoped one day we could automatically cross-pollinate data points between tools to enrich our investigation process. Tines has helped us achieve these goals and exceed our expectations. The Tines team ensures you are well-trained and self-sufficient on the platform and before you know it, you're using the brilliant GUI to draw up complex processes that link your APIs together and automate just about anything you can think of. If you ever get stuck, have a question, or want a new feature the team is always receptive and helpful. We have never seen a support system quite like it from any other vendor. We have looked at the other SOAR brands and even tried them out, and nothing comes anywhere near Tines for ease of use, features, and just intuitive human-friendly design.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tines is probably the only tool I have ever used that I can't think of a single major complaint about, and it's not through lack of trying, I use the tool every single day and have built handfuls of fairly complex stories. Although I was not close to the procurement process I think the tool is expensive and I do wonder how smaller businesses might afford it but you get what you pay for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tines allows us to completely automate repetitive IT and Cyber security workflows which save analysts tens of hours per week. We have deployed automatic triage of certain support tickets, security alerts, and phishing reports.
Powerful and Elegant Automation with REST APIs
What do you like best about the product?
Tines give you direct interaction with the APIs using simple building blocks while also being powerful and flexible to accommodate almost any application. The interface is incredibly informative and easy to use. Combining these two features puts Tines on another level for speed of modification and development, which is ultimately why we use it as a first choice for automation.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main downside of Tines as a SOAR is that it doesn't have case management or reporting tools built in. In this sense, it is more platform agnostic, but this required an initial period of getting used to integrating with external systems. Once we got the hang of using Jira and Slack as the point of end-user interaction, we were able to make the most of the platform. Built-in prompt buttons and the new Pages feature make these types of integrations even more powerful and elegant.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have three major automation initiatives. The first is developing a managed security service. The flexibility and ease of development of Tines make it possible for us heavily automate the investigation and remediation of security incidents and thus make it financially feasible for our small team to support a large customer base. Secondly, we resell Tines to our customers and provide professional services around implementation. The value proposition of Tines is that we can much more quickly derive value from the platform without a long development lifecycle. Finally, internally we use Tines to support a number of IT and operational use cases because of its ability to integrate with any tools using REST API.
Tines Automation Review
What do you like best about the product?
Tines has some elegant features and actions that can be implemented when creating a story that can tackle desired tasks. Although there are preset actions, the ability to customize these actions and make them enrich and extract data allows for the best utilization and implementation of the tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
The GUI is a bit cluttered and the documentation does not always get updated. An example is some of the samples stories in their library that does not contain updated API endpoint which at times change in versions. Due to the program language it utilizes "json" format, it becomes difficult to implement some basic programming features such as break points. An example is having a for loop search an array for a value that is not know. Sometimes you just want the one value and to stop looping, due to the lack of feature it continues to loop and at times gives you extra work as you then need to clean the output up to solely include the value you originally wanted.

Tines has assisted us in giving our Alert Triaging and automated methodology to an extend. We utilize it highly to enrich our alerts and output custom cards with detailed information giving our first responders desired information to quickly assess and determine the impact of said incident/alert.
Easy to integrate and a blast to use!
What do you like best about the product?
No Code solution. While I know Python, which definitely helps from a logic standpoint, Tines' no-code solution makes setting up stories simple and intuitive. Their support is second to none!
What do you dislike about the product?
There is very little that I dislike about Tines, but if I had to pick something, I would say that some of the documentation for functions could be updated to include better examples. But I have noticed that over time, they are being updated to reflect as much.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tines is solving much of our day-to-day information gathering to assist our analysts in their investigation of security events. It is also helping streamline our escalation process.
very friendly interface. our CS are helpful and very responsive
What do you like best about the product?
easy integrations with may of our vendors
What do you dislike about the product?
Bugs that can be challenging to figure out

Vulnerability managment
Tines has streamlined our company's automation pipeline
What do you like best about the product?
I love the interface for Tines. I can quickly understand what any story is doing on the platform. I also like the ease of all the API calls. Integrating with APIs has been a pain point for the company in the past.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tines doesn't specifically have case management built in, so it's important for all stakeholders to make a decision on which platform to use for case management early on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We enabled multiple types of data enrichment on events because Tines integrates easily with other APIs. Faster integration allowed us to conceive alternative ways to enrich data to help analysts make more informed decisions.
Tines FTW

What do you dislike about the product?
- Integrating it with our CI/CD pipeline for version tracking would be nice.
- However, it is easy to see this information in the UI.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can easily automate our response and containment actions with complete visibility into the what and why. We have saved money by piping additional data into Splunk and a "cheaper" cases management solution, keeping 100k YoY. This tool has also enabled our SOC to quickly onboard and attend context for various threats in our environment. This tool should be a part of everyones toolbox.
Tines Ease of Use
What do you like best about the product?
Support from the company is in-depth and ongoing. Community resources also make finding your solution much simpler and time efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tines is still growing, but new updates and receptiveness to user feedback are assisting with any issues.
