Powerful if set up correctly
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it’s so customizable. So long as you have developer support, you can create almost anything.
What do you dislike about the product?
Depending on how developers set up the backend experience, it can be a pain to edit content. One site over utilizes accordions and dropdowns, so it’s easy to get lost when editing a page if you don’t close the accordions as you go. But even worse is another site that has too much nesting/references. To create an accordion, we have the item for the headline, an item for the accordion, and individual items for each accordion tab. That gets messy FAST.
So a developer that doesn’t understand Contenstack best practices is dangerous. It creates a lot of tech debt and a poor content editor experience.

ContentStack: Leader in CMS platforms
What do you like best about the product?
The API driven focus is unlike any other out there. The composibility and experience first focus makes ContentStack a true leader in the industry.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside is that you have to truly understand the business needs in order to properly structure your stack. Contentstack is so versatile that you can easily design a poor editor experience with data model decisions early in a project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ContentStack brought our digital experience out of the dark ages of using SharePoint Lists to maintain our website products. It allows our editors to have much more control over our site, while also being able to immediately see their changes reflected in our production environment.
My contentsack experience
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Contentstack is how easy it is to work with when building and managing dynamic content. Working in a home building industry I have I’ve used it to power things like interactive floor plan pages, home detail descriptions, and even automate syncing with platforms like Cloudinary. It’s flexible enough to support both developers and content editors, and I like how the structure makes it easy to plug into APIs and handle things like fallback logic, localization, and versioned environments without much hassle.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Contentstack is the lack of clear documentation for more advanced use cases and custom integrations. It sometimes takes trial and error to figure out how to get things working the right way, especially when syncing with external platforms like Cloudinary. I also wish there was better support for having a dedicated development branch or preview environment, since right now everything has to be managed manually across environments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It lets our developers build flexible, reusable components while giving non-technical users the ability to update content on their own. That’s been a big help in projects where we need to sync home data, generate dynamic PDFs, or manage fallback logic for things like home descriptions—all without pushing constant code changes.

Learning from industry peers
What do you like best about the product?
Contentstack sticks to its core competency and amazing customer service approach. It doesn’t try to be more, which is rare.
What do you dislike about the product?
Versioning and dependency management are top of my wish list. Without these it’s challenging to onboard new users in the system with a level of confidence that doesn’t require hand holding.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Contentstack keeps content in the hands of our content designers and out of the mobile and web code. That saves a ton of development time and allows us to be nimble with change requests and localization.

What do you dislike about the product?
there is Nothing to dislike about content stack.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using content stack as content management system for Chase Travel
Contentstack has reduced our content publishing time
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use. I am responsible for training end users sets on how to use Contentstack. On average my users catch on quickly, requiring only one 1-hr. session of training. Also, it’s expandable.
What do you dislike about the product?
It’s probably the way we implemented Contentstack, but we have to have developers involved to add any of the apps that Contentstack provides such as Google Analytics and Taxonomy. We can make changes, but they will be overwritten the next time our model is re-published.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our previous CMS was 12+ years old and cumbersome to use. Our users had a lot of difficulties with the web content creation & publishing process being slow. Work that took one hour or more in our old CMS can now be completed in 15 minutes.
