Simplifies, Streamlines & Organizes

  • May 01, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The automation and customization are extremely helpful. I like how easy it is to take one data source and create multiple specialized reports for different stakeholders.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish you could very quickly filter a sheet the way you can in Excel rather than having to build a specific filter and then apply it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team is more organized and on the same page since implementing it. It is so much easier now to see where things stand at a glance.

Powerful Functionality for Timelines, Test Cases, and Easy Sharing

  • May 01, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the functionality it offers. As a product owner, it lets me create timelines and test cases, and share them easily with others. It also makes it simple to manage permissions and use equations in an intuitive way.
What do you dislike about the product?
If there’s one thing I’d say I dislike about Smartsheet, it’s the UI. I think it could be improved to feel even more intuitive. For example, I didn’t realize I could use equations similar to Excel, and if that option had been more clearly shown in the ribbon, I would’ve discovered it on my own instead of having to reach out to a Smartsheet genius.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's given me a tool that I can use across my organization

Works Like Excel, Making It Easy to Learn

  • May 01, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It works like Excel, which makes the learning curve less steep than with other tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the connection to Smartsheet goes down, and it disrupts my work—especially in urgent situations. It makes me feel really frustrated, although this has only happened rarely so far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It works in a web browser, which means I can access it anywhere, even from my home computer, if I need to check something urgently. I can also create a solid link between multiple worksheets, along with attachments and comments, which makes it easier to keep everything connected.

Smartsheet Bridges Excel Planning and Structured Project Management Seamlessly

  • May 01, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Smartsheet is how effectively it bridges the gap between traditional Excel-based planning and structured project management. As a manufacturing planner in the transformer industry, we manage long lead times, multiple dependencies, and coordination across engineering, procurement, production, and logistics. Smartsheet provides a clear, centralized way to track milestones, material availability, and execution status without adding unnecessary complexity.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet is very effective for planning and tracking, it has some limitations for highly complex manufacturing environments. Advanced scheduling needs—such as detailed resource leveling, capacity planning, or complex critical path analysis—are not as strong as in specialized project planning tools. For large, long‑cycle manufacturing projects, this can require workarounds or parallel tools.
In addition to this, some Excel functions are not available in smartsheet where it creates some dislike being excel user from beginning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps address the challenge of maintaining execution discipline and visibility in a manufacturing environment with recurring reviews and multiple stakeholders. I use it to track SDR (Say‑Do Ratio), MoM action closure from weekly MPS meetings, and stage‑wise project tracking against a defined baseline. Earlier, these were managed in separate spreadsheets and emails, making follow‑up and accountability difficult.
By consolidating all these elements into Smartsheet, we have a single, structured platform to track commitments versus actuals, monitor action closure, and measure adherence to baselined schedules. Automated reminders, status updates, and dashboards reduce manual follow‑ups and provide real‑time visibility during reviews. This has improved review effectiveness, data consistency, and accountability across functions, enabling quicker decision‑making and better schedule control in manufacturing execution.

Simple to Use, Yet Lacks Advanced Features

  • May 01, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Smartsheet predominantly for Gantt charts, which is a feature I really value. It's simple to use and easy to share with others, making project plans that multiple people can work on much more manageable.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you want to do something more advanced, those features often seem missing. In Gantt sheets, if I want to have a dependency between tasks but also fix the start date for the dependency, it won't let me do this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet for creating project plans that multiple people can work on. It's simple to use and easy to share with others.

Effortlessly Streamlines Project Scheduling and RAID Management

  • May 01, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I find Smartsheet very easy to use, allowing me to identify all the activities required for a project and link those activities while defining dependencies and the critical path. Access to Smartsheet is great and seamless, especially once I had the license; it's much easier than any other project management and scheduling tool I've used.
What do you dislike about the product?
I guess reporting and linking reporting. Although, I must confess that I don't use that as often as I should, so my level of competency is a bit lower in that area.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet for project scheduling, tracking RAID registers, defining dependencies, and identifying activities. It's easy to use and helps me understand the project's critical path.

Simple, Collaborative, and Easy to Share—Great Value for Teams

  • May 01, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how collaborative it is; it’s perfect for using as a shared document or a checklist of tasks to complete as a team. It’s simple to create a new file and share it with anyone who needs access. It can handle a lot of data in a single file, and I love how easy it is to export everything into an Excel sheet. As a business, many of our departments use this, so we’re definitely getting our money’s worth. Getting set up only took a matter of minutes, which made the whole process really easy from that aspect.
What do you dislike about the product?
I’ve heard there are AI features within the product, but it hasn’t been made clear what they are. Because of that, I feel those capabilities could be highlighted more—perhaps through an email update, or by sharing some training videos. I feel the same way about integrations: it isn’t obvious to me which tools it can integrate with, and a bit more guidance or visibility here would help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using the product, people were using excel files saved within locations that only certain people had access to. This ultimately caused version control issues. Smartsheets has solved this issue by creating one source of truth that is easy for the right people to access. This has saved several hours each month.

Auto-Updating Dependent Due Dates Make Scheduling Effortless

  • April 30, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to modify due dates throughout easily because of the auto update of dependent dates. Smartsheet is very intuitive and easy to use even without much onboarding. I feel confident I could access support if I needed to. I am not sure how much it costs, but it seems to be a worthwhile ROI as it is widely used in our company
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit clunky to set up new projects, and there isn't enough integration between different tools, meaning I need to update both separately. I did not know there was an AI component, so I haven't used that, it would be helpful if the AI was more prominent
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's really good for balancing priorities by allowing tracking of workflow, allowing heavy workloads to be dispersed appropriately among workers. It's a quick and reliable way of tracking tasks among stakeholders

Strong Project Visibility and Easy Collaboration with Smartsheet

  • April 30, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It provides strong visibility within projects, and it makes collaboration easier when working with multiple stakeholders and team members.
It also allows a clear overview of project status for external stakeholders with ease of use being a key element of use within our environment.

It allows integration with outlook to provide key information across multiple platforms, allowing notifications to be sent via email and within the visible project and sheet related chats through the Smartsheet system.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the automation side of linking and creating automatically updating cells can be a tedious task. This can reduce how well Smartsheet performs in an environment where several sheets are interlinked and interdependent.

The cost is also a factor that limits the number of teams members that use the software, as some members use the software less, making the subscription non-viable at the current price point for this amount of use.

Other platforms we have investigated also have AI features that aid in automating some of the internal processes we currently use, which the current Smartsheet AI cannot do at this stage from my understanding.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is able to support external customers and allow for clear visibility of their projects as they are worked through in house. This benefits myself as I am also able to see where a project is tracking at any stage of the process internally, and know that our clients can see the same relevant information keeping expectations and timelines realistic and under control.
