Project Manager using Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet offers tons of useful templates that can be used for many purposes. The PMO (Project Management Office) template is especially useful for my role.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a learning curve for some of the more advanced features. I found several helpful Youtube videos on how to get up to speed on them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping me construct and communicate schedules to the rest of my organization.
Great for Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
I like the graphics, the options for "column type," and the accessibility of forms to the public for use without an account.
What do you dislike about the product?
Linking items to the dashboard can be tricky. I always have to look for a reference to remind myself how to link a sheet to the dashboard because it requires a metric to be made before it can be displayed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet keeps the many moving parts of my project organized. My project requires approval and constant feedback from many different people, and Smartsheet allows me to keep track of approval and feedback seamlessly.
Straightforward and functional!
What do you like best about the product?
I like the different ways you can view information; grid or calendar view are what I use most often, and it's helpful to see deadlines displayed in both ways.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are having issues getting external members to use the smartsheet. They think a lot of the proofing notifications look like spam, so they tend to ignore requests for proof reviews.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet solves a lot of deadline issues our team previously had. We struggled with keeping on schedule because we had multiple deadlines within one project that was hard to keep organized without a project management tool.
The Right Tool for Our Organization
What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Smartsheet at my organization for several years now. It is exactly the right tool to help us stay on track with projects, work collaboratively, and increase reliability and efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
I just wish I had more time to learn how to use the tool even more effectively.

Helps us keep track across many projects; makes reporting key metrics easy; helps with task management.
Really good product
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how I can build in workflows with Smartsheets. It combines workflows with other users with the excel features that I like.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a learning curve to figure out its usage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I often have data that I have to have various actors act on. Sometimes these are distinct users so I really like the ability to engage a workflow to reach out to users. I also like the field options that I can build logic on. One of our major projects is a purchasing program for hardware. I have also had to do phased projects and smartsheets allows tracking of phases for a myriad of users.

That there is no ability or use of tabs.

visibility amung teams, we are also using is as a form set to help with workflow challenges from sales into our operations environment.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is very easy to use with a team, good to share and with fast edits. It is reliable and the forms feature is good

Sometimes smartsheets deletes and recorrects my work when something looks wrong to it. It is frustrating because then there is wrong data.

It is making it easier to track what steps need to be done and alert team members to tasks by sending them a notification

Support team is not responsive. I wasted 3 days just to get our payment system changed

Helps in collocation and project tracking
Good alternative tool for project coordination and follow up on projects.
What do you like best about the product?
Follow up tools are easy to set up and use, for example creating a check list for a project or a study is very simple and easy to intergrade for end user. I especially like that I can create separate archive which makes archiving process overall easy to manage and data retrieval convenient. I very much like the linking system between multiple sheets. Creating workspaces helps to categorize work between users and limit access for different employees. Similarities to excel help to use functions. Overall I use SS everyday in my work which makes it a good tool for my work, I can easily find answers to my questions trough Smartsheet Learning Center and forums.
What do you dislike about the product?
Used with chrome it can be very taxing on the pc and memory requirement is high when large sheets are edited . There are few weird bugs that can happen with using functions, but over all very minor.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project coordination is easier to follow. In my previous role I have used SS for a research associate role; study component checks and for preparatory phase. Also for data and notes collection.
I really like that multiple excel files can now be in one place and I can access all of them basically through web browser.

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful part of Smartsheet is that you can easily share proofs and attachments with other coworkers for easy collaboration. There is no need for emails or long conversations, and this helps get the job done quicker.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like it should be less like excel and more simple to use. It's a bit too much for people who have never used it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work in the marketing department, and instead of people emailing with ideas and requests, they simply put in a ticket and it is easy to organize between my coworkers and I.
