My experience using Smartsheet as a product manager
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet makes project plans very easy to execute. Either starting from a template or from a blank slate, it's easy to add tasks and pre-configured fields.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not had an easy time making product roadmaps or release calendars.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Generally speaking, Smartsheet is our org-wide tool for baselining on tasks, project management, and (soon-to-be) product requirements tracking
A must have for Project or Program Managers
What do you like best about the product?
How it integrates with other systems we already use (MSFT Suite) and how you can create just about anything, in any way, to fit your needs. As someone neurodivergent, the ability to pick up where you left off is extremely valuable to help me keep my projects and progress in order.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside would be the cost to the organization. The pre made formats, colors, size, attachments are all things that I enjoy about Smartsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It’s solving problems in ways that OneNote could not. I am still able to take notes but now using Smartsheet as an intake form, it makes me more efficient to manage my work load. I also enjoy the ability for my team to review without me sharing a page ala OneNote.

What do you like best about the product?
Reminders, spreadsheet functionality, notes
What do you dislike about the product?
Navigation between sheets - especially when not used often

CRM database, contact management, team share of data
Using smartsheet for school club
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how user-friendly Smartsheet is. I am able to scroll through the app and use it to keep track of submissions through a separate portal. It is helpful as I can also transport my work to Excel.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the functionality of Smartsheet to an extent. Sometimes when I scroll to the bottom I can't see the last row on my document.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives me one place to see all submissions on Smartsheet from users. We have been able to program it to make linestream this process. It puts all of my data in one, organzied sheet.
The best real-time Excel spreadsheet app
What do you like best about the product?
It's so simple that teams can begin using it immediately. Even more advanced functions like report pages are as straightforward as learning a pivot table.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's just that there's sometimes clear limitations in what the product is intended to do, it's an Excel-based platform but not necessarily a record keeping system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Good for creating gantt charts of production timelines and dependencies. Easily exported to XLSX format, easy to assign notifications and was helpful for quickly establishing a basic assignment of tasks related to overall project timelines
Smartsheet makes it really easy to keep track of tasks that need input from multiple departments.
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to create a new sheet and add collaborators to the sheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Smartsheet automatically saved once an update was made.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team doesn't have to guess where things are at or do extra digging to figure it out because it is all tracked in the Smartsheet.
Collaboration and Organization
What do you like best about the product?
It allows for organization of information at the origin of information being created and recieved which really makes collaborating with multiple teams easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish printing sheets was optimized for actually viewing on a piece of paper if needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is allowing for deadlines to be shared easily and for teams to communicate information in more accessible format.
Helpful tool for tracking of processes and deliverables
What do you like best about the product?
Functionality is helpful for process and deliverable tracking - it's simple to use which is key to actually using it. I use it every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
The support team is not as responsive or available as other tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking tool - much better than an excel tracker since it has the added functionality

Very good business application for various tracking capabilities.

The Learning Curve can be time consuming.

Solving team collaboration and tracking of tasks associated with project management.
It's Easy To Use
What do you like best about the product?
It's a good alternative to excel sheets when an entire team will be contributing to one sheet. You're also able to access the smartsheets via API. That's expands the different use cases for smartsheets. It makes it a very flexible tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
The row limit per sheet feels too small.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's good for when you have a big team that needs a central place to upload data. Withthe application being web based, is more convenient than setting up a shared folder location on the company server for everyone to save the same excel file to.
