SmartSheet is relatively friendly for beginners
What do you like best about the product?
SmartSheet is relatively easy to use for a beginner. The tool, format, and general usage are very similar to Excel or other Project Management tool, making the change / learning easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
In order to create the row hierarchy, the formulas used are relatively problematic, many columns are necessary and does not facilitate personalization easily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization - It is great tools to help document all the necessary tasks / activities needed to achieve the end target.
Simple and effective
What do you like best about the product?
It's a very simple, collaborative tool. Working on spreadsheets together with other collaborators in real time is very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
More advanced scheduling tools would be helpful to track delays, weather, successor capabilities to make navigating a complex schedule easier.
Filters shared between different users on the same project team would be SO helpful and is currently a major issue for us.

Collaboration with other users (superintendents, project managers, project executives) in a single document in real time.
A very powerful tool that still requires a great deal of attention
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has innumerable features that allow you to quickly gain insights into your business's data, and keep people across your organization aware of deadlines, changes, etc. whatever the information concerns. The product is easy to use and interact with, the customer support is excellent and ver responsive, and can be easily integrated across a diverse set of teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is not an AI-driven product, so any effective sheet is going to require a lot of data enry work up-front to get a really effective sheet. Depending on the type of data you are looking to organize in Smartsheet, you may need to assign someone the data entry work as a separate project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an in-house legal counsel, Smartsheet is an easy way for me to track the contracts my organization has entered into, and notifies me when any contract-related event is approaching, such as a subscription renewal, the beginning or ending of an exclusivity period, the beginning or ending of a minimum purchase period, etc.
Adequate software for organizations that insist on using spreadsheets for project management.
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the spreadsheet-style layout since it’s simple enough to pick up. Collaboration features feel handy for group efforts, letting everyone share their updates in one spot. The interface is fairly tidy, so it doesn’t take long to set up or track tasks. It might work well if you already favor a grid-based approach.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can feel stiff at times, and I’d prefer more options for shaping each process. Some features seem slow or clumsy, which makes certain actions less smooth than I’d hope. The look strikes me as a bit dated, so it may not spark a ton of excitement. It does what’s needed, but nothing beyond a basic level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet tackles scheduling, task assignment, and overall accountability, which helps me manage projects in one spot. It keeps files, notes, and progress updates together in a grid-style setup. That structure saves me from juggling multiple platforms, and I like how it brings all communication under one roof. Using a single interface for sharing comments or marking progress means I can see what’s happening without digging through different tools.

Great options and flexibility with Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Smartsheet has the flexibility to design enhanced systems to suit our unique user needs. As we are in Higher Education, we can utilise Smartsheet in many different ways to achieve a number of goals. Smartsheet integrations are also readily available and easy to access with many of our existing systems. Customer support is readily available and responds quickly with assistance. We are able to add additional team members and teach them the ropes of Smartsheet with ease. It is a flexible system that has solved a number of bottlenecks for us. Highly recommend.

Exploring new capabilities of Smartsheet can feel overwhelming and take some time to get comfortable with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows us to consolidate all program-related information in a single source of truth (via reporting and dashboards).
App well worth to connect all data and visualize
What do you like best about the product?
How you can connect all your data sources in one app to formulate what you want to get out of the app. Has many features that can be incoorporated to make your data much meaningful to share with your teams and stackholders. Easy to use once you get the hang of it with the proper training.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a little challenging at the beginging when starting to learn how the app works as a beginner but will eventully get the hang of it once you get the proper trainings.

Enabling to integrate many data sets from multiple platforms and connecting them together to get meaningful insights.

I really like how easy it is to get used to the platform and to share timelines w/ the team.

Would love to have available the date formatting as: ddd m/d/yy
I have struggled when I need to build a timeline w/ working days from Mon-Fri, BUT, w/ exceptions where the team has weekend work (some weekends just Sat, other ones just Sun, other weekends both Sat-Sun). I know you can add exceptions adding an "e" to the duration, but then the platform doesnt let me select "only Sat", "only Sun", "both Sat-Sun".

Smartsheet has been pretty usefull to keep track of my projects and deadlines, and also to provide visibility of timing to the rest of the team.

We have processes that have been simplified and automated through Smartsheet.

As a novice with the platform, there is a sense of being overwhelmed with all the features/formulas.

Organizing our business requests through an intake form developed within Smartsheet.
