Smartsheet - how to make it better
What do you like best about the product?
Unification of processes, Rules Automations

its limited to the amount of data, that you can add to a smartsheet

Centralized processed that build a spirit of team work

What do you like best about the product?
I love being able to nest rows inside of other rows. It makes it really easy to keep things organized. I also like that I can share spreadsheets with others very easily. The other big benefit is being about to create workflows. I can easily set up an instance to where if I mark a task complete that task moves to a different board and adds the current date. That way I have an archive of all completed work on one page but my spreadsheet that I'm working off of does not get cluttered.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest downside is that it takes a long time for workflows to trigger. It gets confusing sometimes having to wait for teh work flow to trigger so my rows/cells can automatically move around.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps keep big, unruly projects organized in a simple way. It also helps me create an archive of completed work.
Good tool for Integration and Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
Two things that I liked most about this product is how easily one can integrate multiple things and then also allow multiple people to collaborate.
One of my favourite feature for integration is Data Shuttle - It lets us connect to our data bases data and then add/edit that data in Smartsheet without affecting anything at the source i.e. Database. Also, once these changes are done then we can easily connect all of this seamlessly to the power bi thanks to the native plugin and explore further for visualization.

What do you dislike about the product?
The dashboards would benefit from enhanced functionality, such as more feature-rich chart widgets. Right now, due to lack of that we push the data from here to Power BI for better visualization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is mainly a collaborating tool for us, as we have teams sitting in different part of the world and we have various workflows to deal with. So, this helps us in aligning and monitoring all of those processes.

The comment function should be included in Slack for easier interaction
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives an easy overview of the tasks solved within a given time frame (month, quarter, etc.). The data can be shared easily with the Leadership teams to justify our workload.
Powerful - wealth of information readily accessible
What do you like best about the product?
Once I became accustomed to the basic operations, it has been very easy to manipulate data in Smartsheet and present it in a usable manner. Being able to build custom dashboards has been a game changer. Adding workflows has also increased productivity significantly. I love learning more and more each time I use the tool!
What do you dislike about the product?
My initial learning curve was steeper than I had expected. I'm very familiar with Excel, so most basic operations were consistent. It just took a little bit to figure out how to manipulate the date and build in workflows into my processing.

Smartsheet is providing visibility into project tracking ina shared environment. It has provided us with increased control of tasks and easy report generation.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is great for a multitude of things. We use it for project management and software renewals. I love that we can put in a date when a software license expires and 30 days before we have smartsheet send an email so we can get the renewal done before it expires. This has saved us so much time and $$$ with late fees, etc. I also like that it is SSO capable so I can use my work credentials to login.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really don't have any downsides it is a great product and I have used it at multiple companies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping tasks on time with due dates and also helping with our software renewals and expirations.
One stop solution for running your projects
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of creating the tasks and dependencies which creates a compelte timeline. It helps in creating reports that can help in creating a collective view for different role.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ability to create the dashboard is still limited and not very user friendly.

Keeping my workflows and projects in one place
What do you like best about the product?
I'm able to track multiple types of projects and keep them on track with simple projects cards or more complex gant charts. What I find helpful about Smartsheet is the ability to track conversations, add attachments, and share information with parties whether or not they have a license. Without smartsheet I wouldn't be as organized. Smartsheet is easy to learn how to use; you don't need special training unless you want more advanced ways of using. I look forward to learning how to use Workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are all sorts of interesting templates that I would like to use, but I cannot without paying quite a bit more for a premium license. It would be nice if I could purchase just the templates I want to use a la cart. We are a small user group of 3 and simply don't need access to every type of template. This is mrore of a "nit" but, a recent update changed how the "search" functions, making it more difficult to locate the search icon itself. I was not alone in noticing this; my colleagues commented on this as well. Also the search feature does not take you to the row within the sheet, or display the row numbers that your search "hit" upon/ results; rather it takes you to the entire sheet. From there you must scroll for the information. Suggested improvement or instructions on how to optimize search would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly that our small company does not have project management software, yet needs a schedule (Gant chart) to be produced for projects. Smartsheet benefits me because it enhances my work performance by organizing vast amounts of information that I couldn't otherwise track in Word or Excel or Outlook
Powerful Workflow Tool!!!
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite feature in Smartsheet is that it can automatically email the next person set up in the steps! I can set it up similar to Excel and I love that because I'm already use to working in Excel. I could go on and on about how many features I like!
What do you dislike about the product?
There is certainly a learning curve when starting out in Smartsheet. There can be a lag between when a step is completed and the next step happing in the background. That can be frustrating at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use to not have a good way of communicating who's step comes first or next and Smartsheet now does that for us automatically!
schedule management with smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
It has the basic features to generate a schedule and it works very well. You can make a good schedule and get a critical path.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has the basic features, but it lacks a better way to insert more fields, such as costs. And a better way to manage the % of progress.

Time management helps me generate schedules.
