Smartsheet helps keeps teams aligned, and improves workflows
What do you like best about the product?
I like the collaborative nature that it brings to my team for critical items. We are able to share information, updates, and status in real time.
I love the ability to customzie filters and formatting to present relevant information to those outside of the organization.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that there was a better way to share common templates created by our company other than having one or even a team of owners. It would be nice to be able to have a collection of company templates that could be copied and shared without having to get an invite from the "owner".
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One item we use this for is it creates a collaborative schedule for our team for team to provide procurement updates, crew scheduling and more.
We use it for cost management workflow coordination. Everyone updates the sheet with potential cost impact items and an estimate of the cost. We can update it once we know if it is a true cost, or if the issue has gone away. Actualized costs can be added once pricing is received, and then the item can be closed once payment has been made.

Smartsheets ease of use
What do you like best about the product?
The best part of using smartsheets for me has been the ease of sharing. Customers want to recieve a digital copy of documents that is updated in real time. Smartsheets give us this power and allows us to choose whether or not to allow the doc to be co-authored with the customer. Sometimes it is helpful for the customers to be able to edit collabortative docs but in the case of projects plans we would not want this same ability. Smartsheets makes both options very easy! Ultimately this gives our team a higher level of customer support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheets allows for some fairly advance dashboards and integrations. Learning how to do these things has been slow for me. I would love a easier tutorial.

Smartsheets has allowed our team a simple method for project planning and collaboriting with customers.
Great Project Management Software
What do you like best about the product?
SmartSheet is a flexible collaboration tool that combines the familiar interface of spreadsheets with powerful automation and workflow capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
The training is great, however, building an entire dashboard can be very complicated without knowing how everything is linked.

Building a single repository of information that engages, aligns, and keeps team members informed real-time. Project tracking made easy.
Quality Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has all the of standard features and functionality needed to manage projects and initiatives of all sizes and levels of complexity. It is comparable to other project management tools, but excels in its ability to integrate data from other systems. We have large teams of project managers across a diverse organization who are all able to use the tool for portfolio management and leadership reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet has limited dashboard/data visualization capabilities for reporting. The gantt chart feature is also subpar.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using Smartsheet for project management and our organization is using the tool for portfolio management. It provides consistency in reporting and organization-wide visibility to project activities and status to our leadership and stakeholders.
Most useful Software
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is the second most used software for our company- the first being our CRM and employee management software. This is an every day, all day software that we use on our phones and laptops. We have several different workspaces developed for each of our departments that allows us to share only the pertinent information to members of each department without overwhelming the teams. One of our most used sheets- our lead tracker- was accidentally deleted, and Smartsheet customer support was able to restore our sheet and all of our customer lead data. The ability to bookmark certain forms and dashboards means that even using on a smartphone is easy for our field team to do while on the go and in the field. The automated alerts and forms are quick to put together and distribute for implementation.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside of Smartsheet is the ability to compile data from different sources. It's unable to pull certain lines from multiple sheets to copy to another sheet to combine the pertinent information from each source. This has to be done through Zapier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is keeping track of repetitive tasks, vehicle maintenance schedules and alerts, as well as all pertinent information for our company.

Fantastic organisation, planning and management tool for a large, multifaceted organisation.
What do you like best about the product?
One of the key benifits of smartsheet is the ability to link multiple sheets and reports to semi-automated processes and improve workflow with live documents. As well as the abillity to setup forms and manage large databases of information.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a number of features which could be more intuative and the ability to customise and be flexible in comparison to other spreadsheet programs is limited. There are a lot of limitation specifically around how sheets/reports can be exported which can occasionally make formation messy on documents which need to be exported and distributed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communicating complex project management timlines to a large number of staff accross multiple departments. Has improved communication between departments and visability of eachothers workflow to prevent bottle necks and missed deadlines.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the filtering capabilities, different views and pick-list dropdowns for different values. Smartsheet also makes it easy to assign folks to certain tasks.

Steep learning curve to understand how to leverage all features
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Makes it easy to track tasks, organize them and assign them. Very easy to add comments to tasks as well. Additionally, it allows for multiple views of a large list of tasks so you can easily see what you want.

It is easy to use, customizable, with great features such as automation tools.

Lack of merging cells and some limitation for not enterprise users.
