My experience with Smartsheet is mainly positive. It is a great tool that I utilize daily.
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy using Smartsheet on a regular basis and find that it's easy to use and has useful features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some downsides are that the formulas are so different from other platforms that it does take some getting used to. I am also not a fan of how the data transfers over to Tableau, but I don't know that it's a Smartsheet issue so much as a Tableau issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet not only helps me keep track of my daily tasks but also allows for easy communication between departments.
Smartsheet for Project Planning
What do you like best about the product?
Easier to use than MS Project. User friendly, simpler but still offers all the Project Planning tools that our organization required. Smartsheet was also much easier for users to start using with minimal training. Allowing for template and dashboard creations is a plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some projects require certain weekend tasks and others don't in the same project plan. This can be difficult to implement sometimes. Not easy to share direct Smartsheet links with anyone who don't have access to Smartsheet, a PDF can be sent however.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project planning, sequential planning of tasks, task follow up with various stakeholders and action item owners.

What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is clean and friendly on the eye. Smartsheets give use a way to share data with our customer in an easy to read format.
What do you dislike about the product?
The 500 lines limitation of copy and paste
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to share system status and job information with customers, The is reduced phone calls and email traffic.
Excellent for task and project tracking
What do you like best about the product?
Task progress tracking is easy to use and get notification for task that still in pending. Mass project status update is saving time from manually updating each project progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
Different type of license and packaging is confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task prioratization changer to set which task need to be complete first, checker for to-do list to tick list that is complete.
Great project management software
What do you like best about the product?
It offers a wide range of templates, trackers, reports, and timing plans. One feature I particularly love is the ability for users to attach images and videos to each row without significantly increasing the file size. This is especially useful for tasks like quality assurance, where you can easily attach examples or video screengrabs to illustrate issues—something Excel can’t do. Additionally, Smartsheet’s calendar functionality provides an excellent view for sharing upcoming milestones and stakeholder statuses.
What do you dislike about the product?
In 2024, Smartsheet introduced a new 'Timeline View,' which is a sleeker version of the Gantt chart. However, when displaying multiple projects simultaneously with numerous tasks, the view can become cluttered as the lines start to overlap, making it harder to read. Hopefully, this feature will be improved in future updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet simplifies the process of managing shared live documents within teams, offering both visual clarity and practical functionality. It can handle large file sizes—something Excel struggles with when it comes to attaching videos and images. As a project manager, I use it daily, if not hourly. It's the foundation for ensuring successful project delivery. Once you learn how to use formulas and conditional formatting properly, it saves so much time and effort.
Good for managing projects
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it offers a 'one stop shop' for managing all my projects. I can manage client data, include contact details and contracts. I also can manage my financial data. I use it for purchase orders, managing incoming and outgoing payments and calculating spend. It is way better than excel as I can add documents to each column. I also like the patent/child functions which again helps me to manage my projects
What do you dislike about the product?
I have found it difficult to get help whern stuck. An actual help-line woul be really useful. As a brand new user I wasted a great deal of time setting up workstations and had many sheets that I struggled to add to a central point. I did work it out eventually but it took so much time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
tracking my spend, managing project workflow, storing documentation, calculating spend, managing quotations - a one stop shop for all of this
Great collaboration tool.
What do you like best about the product?
Love it as a collaboration tool for plans, lean bowlers and centralized portals.
What do you dislike about the product?
I will like to have more flexibility and simplicity when using it as a spreadsheet. Is too difficult to link cells between spreadsheets and formulas are too cumbersome.

Templates for almost each purpose saved me much time.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet templates, because they are customized for our particular needs. With the ingenious features of Smartsheet templates, every department from lending to real estate has customized own sheets. We had a specific project and designed a robust sheet to speed up workflow and save us all an untold number of hours. The automatic saving feature coupled with the ability to keep tabs on the person that last modified the information is what I've gained enormously. Also, the online application made a difference in how we screen applicants and background checks have become much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no universal template, and it takes a little trial and error sometimes to get it just right. The sales template we chose, although it was a perfect fit at first glance, it had to be modified a lot to meet our department needs. The high tech training sessions are also valuable, but can also be exhausting for some.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using forms and templates has led to a significant increase in our productivity. In most of real estate projects we needed to follow several business lines, Smartsheet enabled see updates from all departments in real time.
Versatile
What do you like best about the product?
I've been working with Smartsheet for about 5 years & I love how easy it is to use. I also love the versatility. There are so many different things it can do. It's the best of Excel with a twist. Simple things like attaching documents to a line is extremely helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have any particular issues with Smartsheet. It does what I need it to do. I'm sure it has it's limitations, but not for what I use it for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It creates great visual aids. I create dashboards & link all my trackers, Gantt charts & even links to non Smartsheet items to it. It's a one stop shop for communication & tracking.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can adjust dependencies and dates easily in the gant view.
What do you dislike about the product?
You can't break down tasks and have the same tasks but with different dates without duplicating. Limited colours
