Outstanding project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of integration with our internal systems as well as ability to attach files to rows, tag users, and see visual timelines of project status per line item is a huge plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only (minor) complaint that I have is the ability to hide rows is somewhat confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has enabled our international team stay on target, meet deadlines, and eased the communcation process - especially helpful when working across global regions.
Flexible options
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet allows my teamto collaborate on projects asynchronously which cuts down on meeting time. My team uses Smartsheet regularly for daily project updates and then we review as a team weekly. This has increased the efficiency of my team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because of the way my team does status updates, our omments can get very long over time. I am now facing space limits for certain tasks and have to attach notes rather than being able to update inline.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is allowing my team to gather all information in a single place rather than trying to hunt down information in old emails.
Smartsheet Project Planning
What do you like best about the product?
Tracking project tasks, utilizing automations to send requests, dashboards for showing progress against plan. It is very easy to set up and provide access to users. This has beceome a daily project plan tool that we use for a very large IT transformation project. We have been able to easily integrate multiple plans together across both business and IT into a single integrated plan.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet does not have a great way to pivot data, graphs can be limited at times. If you want to use it as an hourly project plan, Smartsheet does not see hours, only days. So from a task completion and next task, you cannot get it down to the hour mark.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automatically sends requests for tasks, dashobards for powerpoints.
Slick cloud based collaboration platform
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has been a fantastic platform for collaboration, and creation of simple forms and checklists for our operators. Whether working on a PC or on a tablet, operators have found smartsheet forms to be a great way to manage systems, eliminating paper and waste from our manufacturing floor. I personally use it every day for a number of key customer management registers, where I can easily generate live reports without any manual effort required.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet does lack some key features in terms of spreadsheet management that would make it a more formidable rival to programs like Excel or Google Sheets - There's no ability to duplicate columns, or insert more than 5 at a time, which can make template generation and management challenging.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The way Smartsheet can effortlessly transform standard spreadsheet data into a number of other views like Gantt and Cards allows practical manipulation of data in a table, while also allowing for better visual representations of data when presenting in a meeting or to an external audience.
Varied functionality that covers many different needs
What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is intuitive to use. I like the various functionality - project planning, forms, collaboration. I use it for my own task lists and project planning for my bookkeeping business. I've also set up a full A/P submission and approval system on the basic plan that my client easily integrated into their process. So I and my clients use the system daily. Customer support is easily accessible is any issues arise.
What do you dislike about the product?
Prices aren't super friendly for small business. A lot of really useful functionality isn't available until you go up to the next price point, which is both higher and requires extra licenses, so the price jumps up quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use smartsheet for task management, which keeps my work all in one place and organized. I also use it for weekly client reminders, which saves me time from having to review emails to see what is still outstanding from clients. It has also solved the problem of accounts payable submissions and approvals for a client with specific requirements, so I was able to design a system that fit their needs and saves us both time through automations that take out manual submissions and entries. Forms is a big part of this too, allowing outside vendors to submit their own invoices, reducing the need for it to go through an initial person who would then have to submit it for approval.
Robust and versatile
What do you like best about the product?
I have used numerous platforms for project management and while I was hesitant to utilize Smartsheet initially, it was already in our company's tech stack so I figured it was worth a try. After doing some initial learning on the platform, I could quickly see its potential. We use it for a number of different use cases, but on my team we primarily use it to manage our creative project queue. After building out the primary sheet with all the necessary columns for project tracking, creating the request form that other team members use was pretty straightforward. We were using another platform for graphic design review, but quickly fell in love with the integrated proofing system in Smartsheet and don't know how we functioned without it before. I also use it to report out on project completion statistics for different business units. Overall, it's a fantastic tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, scrolling communicating with the platform can be a bit clunky. The comments on rows is not as smooth as some other project management tools I've used in the past, but it's not a major issue and is still functional. There is a bit of a learning curve as well, but that's largely becuase it's such a robust tool - that versatility can also be a roadblock for some more basic users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As noted in the overall review, it helps us keep our creative project queue on track and is excellent for proofing. It helps us make sure no projects fall through the cracks and that we have clear feedback from stakeholders and other reviews on all projects.

I like the various reports that can be built to easily find and track information.

Because of it's extensive functionality, it's easy to over build the features so that it can become clunky to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When all users are entering data as they should it allows everyone with access to see what work is currently going on with over 50 active research projects.
Very Practical
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to manage and Helpful, we use it for a good follow up on different tasks and ease of integrate it into our operations and easy implementation.

i don't have any dislike about Smartsheet yet. until now it being complying with our needs

Follow up on the different projects and new incoming products. Smarthsheet help us to follow up and commun icate it with all the involve personal that need to keep communicate it.. up to corporation teams members that are not on same place, city, country
Using Smartsheet for Small Organizations
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can easily build dashboards and share information with leadership in a visually appealing way to drive decision making.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a little click heavy and it can be difficult to use Smartsheet when screen sharing and needing to make many changes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking key performance indicators, grant management, and program management
User Friendly, Lots of Capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to navigate, and when I have questions the support team is top-notch!
What do you dislike about the product?
Because it's so user-friendly, it sometimes doesn't have the capabilities for complex scenarios that we want to accomplish.

Its helps us to collect, view, and collaborate on data in a way that is easy for cross-collaboration and visualization of that data.
