Smartsheet Was the Best . . .
What do you like best about the product?
It is a very powerful, collaboration tool that is easy to use. Smartsheet has always been very dedicated to its user community and is very active in continuously improving its product with enhancements that we request. A year ago, I would have said another strength of Smartsheet was its licensing model, which only charged for users that actually created sheets and other objects. Collaborators (viewers, editors and commenters) were able to use Smartsheet for free. This is all changing since they have been purchased by an investment firm and you can see the shift to more revenue focus vs. user focus.
What do you dislike about the product?
The future of Smartsheet remains to be seen with its purchase by investors and the move to restructure its licensing model. It's pretty rough when your licensing fees literally double or triple overnight. It might have been better to create a middle tier that charged a nominal fee for collaborators instead of switching from no charge to a full seat license. One of the main advantage Smartsheet used to have over its competitors was its price point, but that advantage is now gone and I can see that many organizations may be re-examining their use of Smartsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a powerful collaboration tool that enables both internal and external teams to interact seamlessly and in real time. Many of my projects involve implementation partners outside our organization and Smartsheet helps manage those project plans and schedules.
Good product for those willing to invest
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the amount of customization and automation within their systems. The ability to autofire emails based on the data in the sheets was something that speed up our department output quite a bit. I liked the amount of automation available within the system but there is a steep learning curve with it. When integrating into our systems we worked with a rep at the company and it was relatively easy. The ease of use within the program for non technical users was easy to follow as it is sheets based, we leveraged the forms to sheets options to make it even easier for end users to insert data. As a company who uses this daily it is worth the time to look into the features of the product and make sure you get your moneys worth.
What do you dislike about the product?
We felt that the customer support access was a hurdle with this software. Our package came with a certain number of teaching hours but it was next to impossible to get an appointment to utilize the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping to keep data flowing and allowing a location to store this information to review later for any issues or questions.
Collaborative Working
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that its open to multiple users editing the sheets at the same time and you can link the sheets with each other which cuts alot of time. I use it everyday without fail!
What do you dislike about the product?
You can't see if another user is editing the same cell you're editing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping log of all projects and linking them with other smartsheets that collect and update data. (minimises the need to go back and manually edit)

What do you like best about the product?
It's interactive, drives efficiency for collaborating with other team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
The functions appear to be vast, but how common is the knowledge required to follow these is questionable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
interactive way to capture queries linked to various stakeholder where we can see the live status of all queries made and how and when they change through the relevant status.
Easy to create forms with sophisticated automation
What do you like best about the product?
There are many automated functions that can be applied to the sheets as well as a dashboard to have a snapshot of selected sheets. Very easy to implement and integrate to websites / social media. Customer support is very responsive and can resolve issues fairly quickly. I use Smartsheets every day for work and it has become a part of our company's daily operations.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some nuances such as line skipping on the backend sheet side. There also isn't "real time updates" so it takes a minute or two for information to update. There are work arounds for most nuances and is tolerable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Central hub for our various needs. Helps keep employees on track for various programs and helps onboard new employees. Can create databases with employee inputted information.
Tracking tool to manage tasks, resources, and documents
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can assign tasks to people in my organization and they receive automatic notifications. I can set due dates and I can track responses. I can also link documents. The tool also allows to create a schedule based on the input activities.
What do you dislike about the product?
When I have one task that lasts a long time it is difficult to capture all the updates and when they occur. I did that in Excel and am missing this feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of project action items and assigning them to the right ressources, which receive a notification even though they might miss the project meeting.

All-in-One Solution for Task & Team Management
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Smartsheet is how it combines the familiarity of a spreadsheet with the functionality of a powerful project management tool. It's incredibly versatile and easy to use, which makes it simple to get teams on board quickly. One of the most helpful features for our team is the ability to build custom forms that feed directly into sheets, automating data collection and eliminating manual entry. This has saved us a ton of time and helped reduce errors. The biggest upsides are the visibility it provides for leadership, the accountability it creates for teams, and the flexibility to customize to fit a wide range of use cases.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet is a powerful tool, there are a few areas that could be improved. At times, the interface can feel a bit clunky, especially when working with large sheets or complex formulas, which can slow things down. Some of the more advanced features, like reporting or automation logic, also have a bit of a learning curve and could be more intuitive for new users. The least helpful aspect is that permissions can get tricky to manage at scale, particularly when working across departments or with external collaborators. Overall, the downsides are relatively minor, but there's definitely room for improvement in usability and performance as teams grow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is helping us solve a variety of workflow and communication challenges by centralizing project data and improving cross-team visibility. One of the biggest problems it’s solved is manual data collection by using forms and automation, we’ve eliminated the need for tracking information through spreadsheets, emails, or disconnected systems. It's also helped us standardize processes and give leadership a clear view of progress through dashboards and reports. Overall, it's increased our efficiency, accountability, and ability to scale projects more smoothly
Smartsheet is good but has limited functionality for automations
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet makes it easy to organize projects by tasks and department.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet does not have functionality to create sheets from an automation which would reduce the management of it significantly. Currently, it is very time consuming to keep up with everything our company has within smartsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It keeps all tasks within a workflow in one area that allows users to see where they fit into the process.
Good For Forms
What do you like best about the product?
I do like the more easiness of creating forms for others to fill out, it allows me to better ability.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not a fan of the sheet portion as it is a bit harder to manipulate like I would in Excel.

They have helped me by being easier to gather information by making other answer the questions
