Overall smartsheet is a decent replacement for more standard project management tools.

What I like best about Smartsheet is its flexibility and versatility. It combines the familiarity of a spreadsheet with powerful project management tools, allowing users to customize their workflows and track projects in a way that best suits their needs. The ability to integrate with other apps, automate repetitive tasks, and collaborate in real time makes it a robust platform for managing complex projects and tasks efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
One aspect I find challenging about Smartsheet is its steep learning curve for new users. The platform's extensive features and customization options can be overwhelming at first, making it difficult to get up to speed quickly. Additionally, while its flexibility is a strength, it can sometimes lead to inconsistent setups and a lack of standardization across different teams or projects, which may affect overall efficiency.

Smartsheet is used to share information and provide access to documents that the team needs, streamlining communication and collaboration. It allows us to manage and organize important files in one centralized location, ensuring that everyone has access to the most up-to-date resources. Additionally, it is used to track and record the hours worked by students during their practical training. This helps in maintaining accurate records, monitoring progress, and generating reports efficiently.
A bit pricey but a good project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
Clean GUI with a straight forward admin console. Also allows "non-licensed users" to view docs without needing to add licenses.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's bit pricey for a yearly license per "edit-capable" users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use smartsheet to manage our various sales and data automation projects. This has allowed a small handful of users to make a large impact and reduce overal time and cost pretty substantially.

I am not the biggest fan of how you can use templates. I find they don't always work the way I'd like them to.

Smartsheet is solving the probelm of xommunicating complex timelines and timeline changes with an entire team. It also streamlines some communications.
Great for Reporting
What do you like best about the product?
I love Smartsheet because it allows me to present data to my clients in an easily digestible way. Whether it comes in the form of a report or a dashboard, I have found that it makes my life easier. I use it every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, there are functionalities that I am surprised have not been added. Smartsheet has a strong community that contributes to online forums, and great ideas are often posted there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows me to track and manage my work throughout the project life cycle. My team views cutomized reports and dashboards each morning during our internal standup. There features provide excellent visibility for the internal project team, the client, and executive leadership. Additionally, we are able to get documentation for auditors via the automation feature, which is very helpful.

Sometimes feels a bit too complicated and complex.

The ability to have multiple projects on the go, all being tracked and managed similtaneously.

Ability to work with other users on the same file simultaneously. Pretty good functionality for automating notifications. It is possible to attach files and leave comments on the lines.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of built-in functionality for the labor intensity of work and calculation of % based on labor intensity. No functionality for deleting rows using automation.

Ability to edit the project schedule by many participants. There is no need to send the schedule to the participants each time to set the completion percentage .

What do you like best about the product?
My initial attraction to Smartsheet was its simplicity, which still holds great sway over me now. In my position, I required a tool that was not only functional but also intuitive for the entire company. Smartsheet was rapidly adopted by us, from bringing in new hires to passing around the forms that required signatures through Jotform Sign. With a little bit of creative thinking, we transformed this tool into a system that felt like it was designed for us - it integrated into our workflows naturally. I have always advised my coworkers that it is like mixing a couple of familiar apps together, and that flexibility was just what we needed. In addition, through the last few years, I have also integrated the ERP systems with Smartsheet and I have had the privilege of using it with ease as it has been ever since its inception.
What do you dislike about the product?
As we scale up, it is common to use massive datasets thus we get error messages that ask us to reduce the size of information. That kind of reluctancy is not quite okay if the project is at a crucial stage when you require it the most. Additionally, the feature designed for confirming if a row was deleted has not always been dependable, which mandatorily intertwines the rights for managing permissions with permission exercises in the past.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By means of a single template, we roundly brought our project management together thus removing the memory of the spreadsheets we used to have. Besides, thanks to a personalized module that I built, even our requests for leave are digital now - and everything abides by the SPOT rule.

i can track my tasks and make sure i complete them in proper time frame.

there is nothing specific, except creating any new sheet is not thatuser friendly.

we have multiple sites to tackle, and good thing about smatsheet is I dont have to go back & forth on my email to see what ineed to work upon. Smartsheet helps mekeep track of it.
