Program Manager Experience with Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
I like how seamlessly the dependencies work so that I can make a change to one line item and it updates the rest of the schedule. I similarly appreciate the baseline and critical path features to help highlight aspects of a schedule
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to share schedules with people that aren't on Smartsheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is solving the problem of being able to define a complex schedule with many parts and dependencies. It benefits me by making it easier for me to show how changes to a project will affect the deadlines.
Useful Catch All Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is great because it keeps everybody aligned, on task, and it leads to transparency about what is going on across the company. It is easy to use, simple to train people and implement, and smartsheet has offered some great training to get people up to speed. It is something that is used daily at our company.
What do you dislike about the product?
It could just be needing more training, but being able to generate more graphs, charts, etc from the smartsheets would be helpful to see where we are at visually on projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is helping us to be aligned as a company, documenting where we are at for each project, and leading to less confusion about project status. That is helping us to be more efficient and effective in our product innovation and renovation.
A powerful tool to keep our team organized and in-synch
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has enabled our team to synch-up on various ad hoc projects as well as our ongoing annual service calendar. This allows us to stay on the same page as our colleagues, more easily hand-off work when someone needs to be out of office, and to give updates to our higher-ups in a more streamlined way. The formulas being similar to Excel make it easy to customize, and the formatting looks clean and organized.
Once we got our team's templates set up, we have been able to easily implement the system for new projects and share with other teams within our organization. The final product is definitely worth the time put in on the front-end.

What do you dislike about the product?
One of my biggest complaints with Smartsheet has been a struggle to recreate certain Excel formulas in Smartsheet. I know they aren't one-in-the-same, but it can be frustrating to spend hours trying to make a sheet do something only to find out that the formula itself just doesn't apply.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I think Smartsheet has had the biggest impact on our team in 2 primary ways.
1) It keeps us on task and holds us accountable to the work that we should be doing with the proper deadlines. During the busy season, it can be easy to let smaller tasks slip through the cracks, but SS allows us to make sure every little thing is handled. It also helps us work as a team to make sure that we don't duplicate work and that if something was done by one team member and marked complete, another doesn't re-do the task.
2) The reporting feature allows us to summarize the high points that our boss cares most about so that he can utilize the app for updates on the go rather than having urgent phone calls, texts, and emails. When everyone is updating things properly in their individual sheets, there is less digital traffic concerning updates, document locations, etc.

Great software for managing/tracking priorities and other important information
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to create project plans in Smartsheet. I can put together a plan, share it with whoever needs access, and easily keep it updated. I've used MS Project in the past and prefer Smartsheet. Starting up a new sheet is very easy, and I often make a copy of an existing sheet to use again. We also use Smartsheet to help us keep track of some important documents that need to be shared across our organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that their sales reps seem to be disjointed, we've received 3-4 separate notices about our renewal after we'd already renewed. This is pretty annoying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Smartsheet to track our top initiatives/priorities across our company, which is made convenient with the customizations we can create in Smartsheet that you can't do in Excel. We also use make project plans in Smartsheet to track our top projects down to the task level.
My experience with Smartsheets
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy using Smartsheet to organize my workflows. I have mulitiple sheets to keep track of sales and growth. Smartsheet makes it easy to link the sheets together so that I don't have to enter the information mulitiple times.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some functions that are not available that would make it easier to use. Smartsheet is doing a good job and making changes to the platform but it still needs more work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet solves the problem of managing multiple data sheets at once. I am able to enter data on one sheet and it flows through to the other sheets. This makes it easier for me to make multiple reports and helps cut down on data entry errors.
Smartsheets have given me the opportuntity to collaborate with dispaitet colleagues and entites.

Ease of use and different styling for multiple projects
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't alwasy act like a spreadsheet and the commands we are use to in Excel or Google Sheets

Keeping us from having to have a Microsoft Project portal
Better than Excel
What do you like best about the product?
It can do so much more than just be a spreadsheet. Thourougly enjoyed learning about it. Can do more than Excel can if you go through the classes on it. Easy to use if you can understand how it works.
What do you dislike about the product?
That you need an actual class to learn everything it can do.

Being able to track and manage projects and tasks with a large group

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate the automations and collaborative approach, especially being able to work on one sheet at the same time and tag others in comments. It's been a very easy implementation and colleagues find that we use it freaquently in our day to day tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
The more features you utilize, the more confusing it can get, especially when it comes to formulas. The tutorials on the support site could be a little better.

Smartsheet is helping our team and teams we collaborate with to all work off one platform, which has been important in streamlining our cross-collaborative workflow

Svaing is sometimes difficult when engineering

Cost and budgeting and scheduling more organized
Simplifies Complex Tracking Work
What do you like best about the product?
There are lots of features so you can get what you need from a basic to-do list to a complex project tracker.
What do you dislike about the product?
The project templates are very complex. I would like a middle option between a regular sheet that would only track tasks, and the entire project workspace.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The templates are the biggest benefit to me, being able to visualize things easily and not needing to draft it myself.
