Capable tool
What do you like best about the product?
ability to link forms to sheets and automate things.
What do you dislike about the product?
it can be fairly complex to utilize the more advanced features of the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
creating project intake forms, project plans, & portfolio management solutions and combining them.
Smartsheet has really improved our processes
What do you like best about the product?
The multi user functionality and automation have allowed us to manage more with the same resources

Larger sheets and datasets are slow to load and sometimes crash the system

We use it for any system we would typically use a spreadsheet for since it allows multiple collaborators, dasgboarding for management visibility and automation between/within a process
Great project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has been a very useful tool for my team in Marketing. We have used it to implement a project request form for internal clients, which allows us to not only streamline our request process, but also to keep track of the volume, types of projects, and frequency of requests that we receive. Each member of our team has the ability to view and edit the sheet as needed, so that we are all on the same page with the status of our projects at any given time. While I have not personally needed them, I have heard from others on my team and in my organization that the customer support center is top notch.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love for there to be an easier way to create a dashboard that shows overlapping timelines and projects. Similar to a Gantt chart, but not quite the same. This would help in showing leadership at our organization how much our small team is working on concurrently, while still fielding new requests all the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is helping our Marketing team to streamline its project management and make a more efficient project request process for the organization. We are a small team that supports an organization of almost 6,000 employees, so having this tool available as a resource for us is a very valuable asset.

Intuitive spreadsheet like interface that makes it easier to align to other sheets used for project planning.

Limited capacity to develop analytics and insights from the content of the sheets

Project Management and coordination. The interface unifies several activities that are otherwise spread in multiple documents.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has become an indispensable tool for our small project management team. The real-time collaboration feature stands out, allowing seamless interaction between our project and technical teams. It’s intuitive and easy for everyone, even those with minimal project management experience, to contribute and stay on the same page. The ability to integrate with Office 365 and leverage single sign-on with our domain account adds another layer of security, convenience and efficiency to our workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, I haven't encountered any significant limitations that affect our projects. It would be interesting to see how it handles more complex scenarios as our needs evolve, but for now, it meets our requirements perfectly.

Smartsheet is solving the challenge of coordinating and managing projects within a small team, especially when involving both project managers and technical staff. Its real-time collaboration features ensure that everyone stays aligned and can contribute effectively, regardless of their experience with project management tools.
Smartsheet: Perspective from a Software Shop
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a powerful tool that allows all individuals to cater to their own needs and it creates a strong bridge where some applications may be lacking.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because Smartsheet allows all individuals to cater their own needs, it creates a business risk because there is no data governance in place (i.e. each person can create their own sheets, which means their own fields/data structure). Admin can also not auto-access anything created in the tool - the creates a business continuity risk.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Robust audit tracker (task, audit project plan, etc.). It allows everyone in the company to collaborate in one place, which in turn makes it super easy to provide evidence/visibility during audits.

A bit complex to learn the system and it has alot of detailes to provide
