Useful for Collecting & Sorting Data
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a great resource for collecting and sorting data. It's relatively easy to use and allows for different users to have access to specific areas. It integrates well with forms.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet has a lot of features, so the interface can feel complex on first use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet specifically to collect and maintain membership data for employee subgroups. It pulls information directly from our registration form, so it automates a process that used to be very time-consuming for us to regulate.
Smartsheetis great for scalability, Tough on simplicity..
What do you like best about the product?
I’ve used both Smartsheet and Airtable, and based on that experience, Smartsheet stands out in several key areas—especially when compared to Asana and Airtable.
Compared to Asana, Smartsheet is much better for complex project management. It feels more like Excel, which is great for working with structured data and using formulas. It also has stronger automation, more advanced reporting, and built-in Gantt charts that are far more capable than Asana’s timeline features. It’s ideal for managing large, cross-functional projects that require dependencies and resource planning.
When compared to Airtable, Smartsheet handles larger datasets more reliably and offers better performance when things get complex. It supports more advanced formulas and makes it easier to connect data across multiple sheets. Smartsheet is also more enterprise-ready, with stronger permission controls, robust dashboards, and automation tools—making it a better fit for large teams or formal project workflows.
In short, Smartsheet is better for structure, scalability, and depth, especially in enterprise settings or for managing complicated workflows, while Asana and Airtable are great for lighter, more flexible collaboration.

What do you dislike about the product?
Unlike Google Sheets or Notion, real-time editing feels slower or more segmented. Updates aren't always instantly reflected for all users. Smartsheet can lag or become unresponsive when working with very large or complex sheets, this has happedn to me quiet frequently in past, even when I was working at startbucks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet solves several key problems related to project visibility, coordination, and accountability, especially in environments with multiple teams, stakeholders, or complex workflows.
Works well but pricing a bit high for what is offered
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a flexible and user-friendly project management tool that works well for tracking tasks, timelines, and collaboration across teams. Its spreadsheet-style interface is easy to navigate, and features like automated workflows and integrations with other tools are very helpful. However, it can feel a bit limited for complex project tracking compared to more advanced platforms, and some users might find the pricing a bit high for what’s offered. Overall, a solid choice for mid-sized teams looking for a balance of structure and ease of use

-price of licenses
-takes some training to use it. Features had to be explained to the team

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to connect multiple sheets and create reports out of them. I use it almost every day for various reasons like creating budgets, schedules, and tracking project status.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be hard to export sheets to share with those who do not have Smartsheet. It also can be tough to learn how to use some of the various features effectively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet makes it easy to collaborate as a team.
Versatile online project plan tool
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use. You can access it anywhere and share with colleagues for an up-to-date viewpoint - no need to send multiple PDFs (although that is an option) when you have a"live" link.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say its focus is leaning towards trying to do too many things and not keeping the product to it's original use. I would say SS should look to collaborate rather than rebuild similar products/features that already exist.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Clear online tool that lets you creat project plans that everyone can use and understand.

Good project management tool to work across organizations.
What do you like best about the product?
It works well to collaborate across organizations.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a decent learning curve compared to Microsoft Office.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working across organizations. Helping streamline PO requests. Managing annual budget. Tracking projects/workflow.
Technically taxing but helpful
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to reduce email clutter and manage file sharing for projects at each step.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a lot of manual work to create the project tasks, assignments, conditions, and filers. It is not difficult once you are a regular user, but it is time consuming setting things up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Email clutter and siloed communication. Reducing emails is always a priority, because things get lost or replied to out of order. It's frustrating and a waste of time. Siloed communication increases the time someone introduced to projects takes to get their tasks done based on a lack of understanding, file availability, and understanding of their role/next steps. For my team, that is the biggest improvement from smartsheet.
