Great Options for Customization
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the different features of SmartSheet. There are plenty of formulas, drop downs, programming options etc that allow for customization for different usage of forms. I am able to use smartsheets for tracking, form usage, and scheduling which is great for different business needs on one platform. It has a great user interface that is simple to understand and use across different business needs. It's a daily used platform for my work role.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it were a bit more user intuitive to see what previous user's changes to the sheet were.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows for multiple people to track tasks and assign as necessary.
Helpful in keeping track of ever-changing data
What do you like best about the product?
It has helped me tremendously in keeping track of our foreign honorary fellows: arrival/departure dates, status of visa, vaccines, applications submitted/approved. I use it every day and am consistently updating.
What do you dislike about the product?
It took me a while to learn and become comfortable with Smartsheet. I had to google a lot of things I was unsure about.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I love that you can set up auto-reminders through emails that will remind me to initiate a task at the proper time.
Great Product
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet helps get orginized quick and helps set up any task quick. We use it on a daily basis and it has helped out my team keep track of everthing in the task.
What do you dislike about the product?
I basically love this product. I would like to see more financial options but, for the most part, it is great.

To keep track of each item and any special thing they might need.

While Smartsheet is packed with features, the learning curve can be steep, requiring some time to fully grasp and utilize all the available functionalities. Additionally, certain advanced features are locked behind higher-tier plans, which may limit access for smaller teams or those with tighter budgets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is solving several key issues related to project and task management by providing a centralized platform that enhances team collaboration and transparency. It helps us streamline workflows, ensure deadlines are met, and allows for real-time updates, reducing the chances of miscommunication. The flexibility in setting up sheets for various project needs and the ability to automate routine tasks saves a significant amount of time, enabling us to focus on more strategic initiatives.
Feature Rich and Incredibly Customizable
What do you like best about the product?
It builds on the strengths of Excel and project management tools like Asana to provide a sort of 'one stop shop' for our team. I am a daily user, and take adantage of its form integration, data visualization as well as its basic project management features. I have been impressed by how simple it is to use the platorm and how quickly I have been able to integrate it into my worklow.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are couple bugs related to formulas that reference other sheets. It has a hard time using relative referancing in this instance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work on a government adjacent granting program that provides services to hundreds of small business owners. We use smartsheets to collect data, track performance, track our internal processes and collaborate across our team.
Excellent project management tool for large datasets
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Smartsheet is its ability to effortlessly handle massive data sets, which is crucial for managing global compliance projects. The built-in Gantt charts are particularly useful for visualising timelines and dependencies, helping to keep the project on track.
While it took some effort to initially set up for this particular project, Smartsheet was easy to use overall, especially since most people are familiar with Excel—this does everything Excel does but with the additional automation features. This is essentially Excel on steroids.
The biggest thing I love is how you can use the reports in Smartsheet to integrate with PowerBI for dashboarding, allowing those who don’t want to dive into the data to still get a holistic picture of the project. Smartsheet's combination of robust data management, automation tools, and seamless integration makes it an invaluable asset for project management.

There's not much I specifically dislike about Smartsheet, but one feature that could enhance the experience is the integration of AI capabilities. Having AI to auto-populate fields, suggest formulas, and provide insights would be a great addition. Additionally, integrating the app more seamlessly with AI could streamline workflows even further, making the tool even more powerful for project management.

Smartsheet is solving the challenge of managing obligations and deadlines across multiple teams within our organisation. It provides a centralized platform where we can track tasks, monitor progress, and ensure that everyone is on the same page. This is especially beneficial for upholding responsibility, as it makes it easy to assign tasks, set deadlines, and automate reminders for upcoming or overdue items. By having all this information in one place, Smartsheet helps us stay organised and accountable, ensuring that no important obligations slip through the cracks and that projects are completed on time.
Functionality to meet business needs towards timeline management
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to connect with Timeline Pro+, the timeline app that works with PowerPoint!
What do you dislike about the product?
Not the "cheapest" software and the bulk license discount is not the greatest!

Allowing multiple users to access the files in the cloud space!
Process Engineer
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is incredibly useful when it comes to optimizing business processes and increasing visibility. It's surprisingly adaptable to a wide range of situations, and my clients really enjoy the ease of use of most of the tools I put together.
What do you dislike about the product?
What is most frustrating about Smartsheet is that the software seems to get so much right, and then drops the ball on little features here and there that are frustrating to run in to. A question I get asked ALL the time is "can I see a trendline of this data on a chart?" and I have to explain that Smartsheet still hasn't implemented a trendline feature yet... seems like it should've been included from the jump.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet continually helps me provide visibility to my clients in all departments across the business. Designing processes to capture high quality data and churning that data out into highly digestible formats (dashboards, charts, metrics, reports, etc.) is incredibly beneficial to my clients when it comes to high level decision making. My clients have full confidence in decisions they are making with ample data to back up their arguments.
Strong candidate for low code solutions
What do you like best about the product?
Initially I used Smartsheet to manage projects but have been pleasantly surprised by some of the automation/workflows for business users. It's a affordable, robust platform than can act as a true low code platform without involving a traditional software developer. Most of the so-called low code platforms require someone with formal development experience as it acts as a code generation tool. Smartsheet's tooling allows business users to create forms, automations, publish mobile friendly apps, and have it integrated with your enterprise archtecture so you can maintain security while also porting the data as you see fit.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a developer, there are some trade offs due to it's ease of use and so the forms and automations do not have all the features you can think of.

Smartsheet allows business users to create easy to use, powerful workflow solutions without involving a formal software developer.
Great for Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
Seems like a glorified spreadsheet tool, but is able to slice the data and present it it well.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a steep learning curve and the resources on their site don't always help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provided transparency into the various projects our team is simultaneously working on, with the ability to get granular and see what stages the projects are in. It also has the ability to provide automatic reminders, which saves everyone involved time.
